Hotel del Antiguo Convento

A nice hotel in the center of Salta. Walking distance to everything. Our first room was S2 and it was big and comfortable. It even had jacuzzi that we didn't use. The second room was much smaller and had a strong stale smell, I guess from humidity. It showed on the wall. This was the reason for 4 stars. The staff is very friendly and helpful, including the café. Breakfast is basic but you have some choice in sweets. Very quite in the courtyard. Has safe, heater and AC.

What a wonderful, interesting hotel... full of character, extremely helpful staff and wonderful breakfast (if you like pastries). Keenly priced and a terrific location, within walking distance of the centre.

Located about a 15min walk to a popular touristed Square with a nice park & restaurants all around.|Staff were friendly & helpful.|My room was clean throughout. Everything worked fine. My bed had clean linens & afforded me a comfortable sleep.|The shower had decent hot water & pressure.|Breakfast was the usual basic ingredients. Breads, ham, cheese & assortment of cakes.|Overall, I had a comfortable stay.

First impression was not to good: personnel was not very friendly and we got a (nice) room but without view (walls only) and first floor without elevator. The breakfast guy is very grumpy and you have to be friendly to him in order to receive your choices (no eggs, 1 slice cheese etc). But breakfast in Argentina is never very sexy. The lovely terrace was closed for breakfast and it was full and warm inside. A pity. But we realised afterwards that the location is perfect - lovely neighborhood with a very nice bar restaurant around the corner (El Cafe del Convento) - the car rental is next door, and the best Empanades also around the corner (La Salteneria). Very easy and pleasant walk to the city square.

Lovely old facility in a great location but few modern amenities. Spartan breakfast (continental) with grumpy service but the desk staff were helpful and cheerful. A big thank you to the masseuse Marguerita, who was EXCELLENT and cured the crippling leg pain I was experiencing. I highly recommend her very affordable service.

No wifi connection in rooms. When asked the staff insisted there was wifi, despite it not working.

Did not like this hotel. The staff was unfriendly, did not speak any English, camera's everywhere. Sitting in the garden quietly reading my book, got sent away because it past 21.00 hr. Had to stay there a few days longer because my travel companion got sick. No roomservice, tea Coffee or water available whatsover despite it being on the website. If you ask for extra toiletpaper they ask your room and charge you? Pool and gardens were nice and the young guy serving breakfast nice aswell.
