This is a very comfortable and well run hotel, perfectly situated for exploring all that Barcelona has to offer. We had a top floor room with balcony that was simply but attractively furnished with good en-suite facilities. Breakfast offered one of the most extensive buffet choices that we have ever found in a hotel of this size. All the staff we met were welcoming and courteous. Close to the Barceloneta metro station and well served by buses (the V15 particularly useful for getting to some of the central spots) we would very happily return here on a future visit. And although the hotel does not serve dinner, there are many local restaurants nearby to choose from.

Honestly, this place is a gem! Room 405 has the best panoramic views of the city/harbour and a beautiful terrace area on the roof for sunbathing. The staff were super lovely and polite, nothing was too much trouble.Ladies at breakfast were friendly and welcoming, the food was a good selection, however the hot food items sadly weren't hot (think cold bacon slices, warm eggs, warm beans) just about warm nothing more which by the time you've buttered your toast and started to eat its all cold. The room was super clean and comfy, room service was excellent, I requested more pillows and they arrived at my room within minutes. The hotel is centrally located for the city/harbour and for all the sightseeing.Beds are too hard for me but that's personal preference.I would definitely come back here again.

I stayed for one night for work. It was great, and definitely a nicer experience than many of the tourist hotels in Barcelona. The building is very elegant and situated centrally but not in the heart of the chaos. The room was very clean and it was nice to have a balcony. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, and I was glad to have my ear plugs, but the shower was hot and powerful and there was plenty of space and storage. The breakfast was fantastic with so much choice and beautifully laid out. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights whilst in Barcelona. Our room was small but it was clean and had a refrigerator. We had requested a quiet room, it was fine but we were woken by the rough sleepers in the early hours, shouting and arguing. There are quite a few homeless people in this area. However, we felt safe. This is a good spot to explore beautiful Barcelona. The bathroom had ample towels and a hairdryer. Be careful in the shower, the mixer goes from cold to scalding which is quite dangerous. We had not booked breakfast but paid 14 euros each to avail of it. You must go down to reception and pay before staff will let you enter the dining area. We found the staff friendly and helpful.

Great location good clean hotel, nice pleasant staff, good food and good prices for drinks. Lovely rooftop bar with 2 or 3 pools & covered area’s. Also plenty of sun loungers you could get lost up there. Everything you need is walking distance from the hotel I recommend, had a great stay & lovely weather 20 to 25 all week.

There was a bath in the bathroom but no plug!!!! I asked if I could have a plug so I could use the bath but was refused. Thomas was extremely helpful in explaining the reasoning of this being the government banning them due to a water shortage, not sure how true this is! There was a plug in the sink. Surely they have a stash of bath plugs they could have given me one to use for one bath! But for reference, for anyone wanting a bath the provided shower cap is a perfect fit to plug the hole!

Recently stayed for several nights at this hotel. Pros: The hotel is located close to the gothic quarter and the beach. The restaurants nearby are delicious and walking was very easy. The breakfast was delicious and affordable and the staff were really helpful. Cons: The room smelled aggressively of mold. The smell became worse with the AC. So much so that it woke me up at night when the AC kicked on. When we left we could smell it on our clothes. The rooms were outdated and bordering on dirty. There was no soap provided in the bathroom, not even hand soap, and the tiles in the shower were rusting.

I had a pleasant stay at the Hotel del Mar in July. Despite the weather being quite warm, the air conditioning was working perfectly. The rooms were large and clean. The service was very cooperative and prompt. The breakfast buffet had enough variety of dishes. One small thing I would like to point out is that the table and chair in the rooms were not very suitable for business travelers. Perhaps the hotel management should pay attention towards this issue.
