We stayed at Hotel Del Peregrino in April. We were happy we did. The hotel is in a quiet area, but within walking distance of Centro, Calle 47, etc. The staff was friendly, and helpful and very patient with our limited Spanish language capability. Many thanks especially to Roberto for helping us to feel more like friends than foreigners. Very clean, and quiet, although some may miss certain facets of other hotels. We would definitely stay again.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in a single king bed room. Everyone on staff was very kind and helpful. The building itself is beautiful. The location is perfect—a short walk to both plaza grande and paseo de Montejo. Great breakfast options down the road (the website mentions a continental breakfast but they did not serve that our 5 days there?). The rooms were clean and the air conditioner kept us very comfortable. Only downsides were our bed wasn't the most comfortable (very firm) and our door had a gap at the bottom so any outside noise was fairly loud in the room. Overall the good far outweighs our two small complaints and Hotel Del Peregrino is a great option to stay while visiting Mérida! 4-4.5 stars

Great location, with easy walking to Calle 60, a main shopping street, the Grant Plaza, restaurants, as well as Paseo de Montejo, and museums. And the price is right. Photos tell you that the property is lovely, rooms are clean, lots of colorful tile; nothing fancy but very pleasant (and I don't like fancy). The real strength, though, is the staff. Very friendly, and very helpful. When I needed some medical attention they arranged for a doctor to come by -- immediately! -- who took care of my (minor) issue. They gave great advice, were happy to chat about Merida, arranged tours. I've stayed in many places around the world, but this one will stand out because of the staff. If I return to Merida, this is where I will stay.

Fernando and Roberto took such good care of us on our stay. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Merida and surrounding attractions. They were able to communicate fluently in English, and were very gracious about our sparse Spanish. ||The hotel itself has boutique rooms on both the first and second floor. This surrounds a shared courtyard and pool area. We found the room clean and comfortable. There is some street noise at night especially over the weekend, but it wasn’t bad. ||There is a guest refrigerator downstairs where you can place an item or two. ||The pool is a wading pool. It was a nice way to cool off after a long day of fun. ||The location is probably the best thing about this hotel outside of the fabulous staff. You are a short walk from restaurants, attractions and shopping.

We spent four nights here in a clean, comfortable room on the lower level. The hotel is outstanding value. Roberto and Fernando are gracious hosts. The hotel is located near multiple restaurants and two great coffee shops. It is about a 15-minute stroll to Merida's main square, or up the main road to see a mansion or two. The bathroom is a little small-- think those in Paris-- but very functional. We found it very quiet at night.

Pleasant stay at a relatively central location between the Plaza Grande and the Paseo de Montejo. Easy to book and check in. Had a very clean and quiet room. (It has 9 pm to 9 am quiet hrs. & there was almost no street noise.) Enjoyed walking up the patio stairs to the small dip pool (holds about 6-8) and relaxing on the patio. Staff was very helpful booking taxis and providing information on restaurants.

Hotel Del Peregrino was a beautiful place with a perfect location. The staff was excellent and proactive, going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. They even arranged an early wake-up call with a knock on the door and a taxi, and they also provided breakfast recommendations with discounts.

We had a great time at Hotel Peregrino. We just loved the atmosphere in and around the hotel. The hosts are friendly and helpful. We quite enjoyed the room (we had #4). It's big enough for the two of us, huge bed with Good airco and ventilation. Slept like a baby. Breakfast is nice and varied. As vegetarians we had plenty of choices. What stood out the most for us was the friendly staff.

Yelp
We stayed two nights here. Unfortunately, it was a last minute booking, so we stayed in one of the two rooms in front of the hotel, near the street. I'm sure the interior rooms are more peaceful. The room was very clean. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The much touted breakfast was marginal, at best. To me, this establishment is more like a hostel: It's very bare bones and overpriced for the value provided. I don't understand all the glowing reviews, and would never stay here again. Merida is a beautiful city with many affordable, comfortable and inviting hotels. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them

Yelp
We recently spent 5 nights at Hotel del Peregrino and were so pleased with our stay. The hotel is quiet, private, safe, and in a great location. There are two different terrace areas where customers can smoke, or we enjoyed just sitting outside and soaking in the fresh air. Our room was spacious and included a ceiling fan and air conditioner for the warm evenings. We could also open the window to get fresh air. We loved that the room also had Netflix as we could unwind with a favorite show or two. The breakfasts served each morning were great. The staff was super friendly and even helped us out when one of our tour companies changed our pick-up time. The staff was always available to help answer questions or provide advice on things to do or places to see. The location of the hotel was perfect - just a quick walk to the parks or the Cathedrals, and close to many great dinner options. For all of these features, the hotel was super affordable and we would highly recommend it to anyone!

Yelp
This was a great find coming off the dusty road! The place was clean, the staff were all nice and helpful, and the rooms were very cute. The continental breakfast was nice but could've used some more variety, and the central location was great for exploring Merida on foot. We loved it here! Highly recommend it!

Yelp
This is a wonderful place with gracious and helpful staff. We picked it for its central location in the old city, a "cute factor" and reasonable price. Perfect on all counts! They serve a great breakfast every morning, and is very secure. We will stay here again!
