Hotel Del Peregrino

We generally have five criteria for a good hotel stay 1. Location. This box ticked, it's tucked away from the centre but only a short walk. Most of the half decent restaurants are between the hotel and the centre Kiosko. Taxi to ADO terminal (bus) cost us about 40 pesos and 30 pesos to the Auto progreso bus station 2. Quiet. Although near the centre the road is very quiet and the hotel operates a respectful quiet policy. Honestly the quietest and most tranquil hotel we have stayed in 3. Shower. Shower was perfect. Hot and powerful 4. Aircon. Worked perfectly, no issues 5. Price / value. The value for money I think is exceptional. We would definitely stay again. We stayed in Viva Merida hotel last time but it's far more expensive and not worth the extra. Recommend to come here, also ran by Eduardo and Fernando - very helpful and friendly with lots of info on tours and restaurants etc

What a great small hotel for me a solo mature woman traveler. Fernando, Roberto and Jesús are fantastic employees that go above and beyond to meet any need. An added benefit to this hotel is the shared kitchen. For a longer stay there is access to a refrigerator, drinking water, ice and a microwave plus utensils for cooking and eating. The location is close to Plaza Grande as well as Parque Santa Ana. The hotel is on a very quiet street full of beautifully restored homes and close to restaurants and coffee shops . The wifi was fast and the hotel had hot water with strong water pressure, excellent air-conditioning and even an in-room hammock. If I return to Mérida I will stay here again.

My girlfriend and I had stayed in the room on the second floor of Hotel Del Peregrino for twelve nights, the hotel is clean and tastefully decorated. It locates on the quiet street, so we had good nights sleep. It is also within minutes of walk to several breakfast cafes and restaurants, and very close to old town, we feel safe after watching night performances in old town and walking back to the hotel. The hotel has central courtyard with kitchen and provides filter water for all guests, which is so convenient for us. The hotel became our home away from home to explore the city of Merida and nearby towns. The staff Roberto, Fernando and other staff are all very friendly, Roberto provided a lot of useful information to me and my girlfriend to make our stay pleasant. Thank you so much. We will stay again in Hotel Del Peregrino in next time we visit Merida😄.

Hotel del Peregrino was the best place we stayed in Yucatán! We loved that it was small and quiet, with beautiful touches like the ceramic tiles and plants around the property. Our king room was spacious, clean, and comfy. The hosts at the front desk were always friendly and helpful. It was nice to have access to water and a small shared kitchen and fridge. The small pool was nice for relaxing on a warm evening. Overall just a great place to stay in the heart of Merida, where so many restaurants, parks, and markets were easily walkable. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed staying here upping our time from two to five nights. It's located a bit off the main tourist areas but close enough to walk. Many good restaurants within walking distance as well as great coffee places. We started out in a room downstairs which could be a bit noisy so we moved upstairs. Very comfortable beds, excellent showers with hot water. A kitchen for making coffee and storing food is available as well as bottled water. Both Hernando and Roberto were very kind, knowledgeable and helpful as well as the night staff whose name I didn't learn. The place really dud become a home away from home.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, the decor is spectacular. It is clean, and the owner has thought of so much to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. The location is great and within walking distance to the famous Plaza, there are lots of restaurants near by as well. The cost of the room was very reasonable, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Merida.

A lovely small hotel, near to restaurants, the Paseo, park La Plancha, and all the city amenities. The hotel is staffed by very kind and helpful people. You won’t regret your stay.

We stayed two nights here. Unfortunately, it was a last minute booking, so we stayed in one of the two rooms in front of the hotel, near the street. I'm sure the interior rooms are more peaceful. The room was very clean. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The much touted breakfast was marginal, at best. To me, this establishment is more like a hostel: It's very bare bones and overpriced for the value provided. I don't understand all the glowing reviews, and would never stay here again. Merida is a beautiful city with many affordable, comfortable and inviting hotels. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them

We recently spent 5 nights at Hotel del Peregrino and were so pleased with our stay. The hotel is quiet, private, safe, and in a great location. There are two different terrace areas where customers can smoke, or we enjoyed just sitting outside and soaking in the fresh air. Our room was spacious and included a ceiling fan and air conditioner for the warm evenings. We could also open the window to get fresh air. We loved that the room also had Netflix as we could unwind with a favorite show or two. The breakfasts served each morning were great. The staff was super friendly and even helped us out when one of our tour companies changed our pick-up time. The staff was always available to help answer questions or provide advice on things to do or places to see. The location of the hotel was perfect - just a quick walk to the parks or the Cathedrals, and close to many great dinner options. For all of these features, the hotel was super affordable and we would highly recommend it to anyone!

This was a great find coming off the dusty road! The place was clean, the staff were all nice and helpful, and the rooms were very cute. The continental breakfast was nice but could've used some more variety, and the central location was great for exploring Merida on foot. We loved it here! Highly recommend it!

This is a wonderful place with gracious and helpful staff. We picked it for its central location in the old city, a "cute factor" and reasonable price. Perfect on all counts! They serve a great breakfast every morning, and is very secure. We will stay here again!
