Hotel Delfino Lugano

First impression was unfortunately disappointing. We booked the Superior Double Room with Lake View specifically for the view, but were given a room on the first floor where only a tiny glimpse of the lake was visible. Compared to the photos on the website, the reality is almost deceptive. I recommend the hotel reclassify these lower-floor rooms with “Pool View” instead of “lake view”, to better manage expectations. The way how the reception handled our complaint could also be better. I understand that the rooms were fully booked and there’s probably nothing you can do, but a bit more empathy and understanding would make it much better. Sadly, I didn’t feel it. Except this, the rest of our stay was actually quite pleasant. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the breakfast was enjoyable. Although some of the facilities and furnishings are a bit dated, everything worked just well. Overall, it’s a good place to relax.

Lovely hotel! Older but very comfortable. The staff are warm and friendly. I will definitely come back if I’m ever in Lugano again.

Lovely hotel, clean and quiet. Small balcony with partial lake view. The woman at front desk was friendly and welcoming, very nice. Large breakfast room with large buffet including a machine that made fresh squeezed orange juice, what a fun and wonderful surprise!

I spent just one night at the Delfino, during a business trip to Lugano. A 5 minute bus ride away from Lugano train station, I was received extremely cordially at the front desk. The room with a view on Lake Lugano was very clean, functional, everything work and the sockets for my various chargers were also easily accessible (still an issue in many hotels). Very good mattress! Check-out again was very cordial and efficient. I'll be back.

Fantastic hotel in a great location (20 min walk or easy #2 bus from city center, 5 min from lake front parks). Clean, good breakfast, friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent value. Our room for three had regular room with a separate 1p bedroom attached. Both rooms had balconies looking out toward the lake. Beautiful.

I had a very short stay in this hotel. I arrived late and departed early the next morning. ||However, the room was very clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. Spacious room. ||I had messaged the hotel via WhatsApp as I noted that it was closing at 22:00 and I did not arrive until 23:00 however the hotel were very accommodating and made sure I got checked in which I was so grateful for. ||Staff friendly upon check out and I was given some food recommendations for late at night as there was no vending machine in the hotel. ||Would like to return here for a longer stay.

The room is old and not cleaned up completely. There is curry smell in the room. The service is bad. I had called the reception for tissues used up. And I've been waiting all night long without tissues.

Great staff and close to public transportation. We had a great view of the lake from our balcony.
