The rooms were okay but felt a bit gloomy. The service was decent, but the staff could have been friendlier it almost felt like we were bothering them. On the bright side, the location is excellent.

Don’t recommend for families with kids. It is not for family. At nights, it is desperately loud in the street. It is impossible to sleep. One bar is located near the hotel. The guests are extremely loud. Breakfast is not as expected (without vegetables) But it is something than nothing. There is no any air conditioner, just to know for summer.

I was booking a room at this hotel, and during the process, the dates in the system set back to the default. That meant I booked and paid for a room for the wrong dates. Okay. It was my mistake. I accept that. But I sent an email to the hotel less than a minute after making the mistaken booking to ask them to transfer the booking to the correct date. Their response was essentially to say "Gotcha! Sucker" and they will just keep the money. Legally, they are correct, but morally, this is a terrible attitude. I still can't believe it. I would sleep on a park bench before booking at this hotel

Big disappointment. Extremely dilapidated. Cold staff and unfriendly welcome. Depressing breakfast. Unhygienic shared bathroom. I do not recommend and am not going to return.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel dell'Angelo, and it was an experience worth every moment. This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Locarno, right on Piazza Grande. The central location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to the lake, train station, and a plethora of restaurants and bars. This made exploring the city a breeze, especially during the vibrant Locarno Film Festival. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff provided excellent recommendations for local dining and activities. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our stay. The hotel itself exudes a charming old-world ambiance with its old-school decor and fascinating antique porcelain vases in the hallways. Despite its historic feel, the property is immaculately clean and well-maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of our stay was the delightful breakfast buffet. The variety of options ensured there was something for everyone, and the quality was top-notch. The coffee was particularly excellent, providing the perfect start to our mornings. While the hotel’s central location does mean there is some noise from the bustling city life, it didn't detract from our overall experience. In fact, it added to the lively and energetic atmosphere of our stay. For anyone looking to stay in Locarno, Hotel dell'Angelo offers an unbeatable combination of location, value, and hospitality. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return on our next visit to this beautiful city.

Lovely hotel in the very centre of the old town. Very good option for a budget traveller. The room had everything we needed, the mattresses were very good and the room was very clean. But the most important thing about the hotel is the staff. Despite the fact that we were very late check in, they waited for us and were very nice to us. I can 100% recommend this hotel. And if you take into account the price of the room, this hotel is even more attractive.

I had a terrible experience at Hotel Dell'Angelo. We arrived late at night to find that no one at the front desk spoke English, which made checking in extremely difficult. Despite booking and paying for our stay through the hotel's official website, we were met with confusion and poor service. The hotel itself is incredibly old and in dire need of renovation – it feels like it hasn’t been updated since the 1950s. While it suffices for a one-night stay, the overall condition is quite poor. We stayed for one night, checked out without any issues, and the staff confirmed that everything was in order with our room. However, several hours after our departure, when we were already in another city, we noticed an unauthorized charge of 200 euros on our credit card. The hotel claimed that we had damaged the sink in our room, which was absolutely not true. We requested video evidence or any proof of the alleged damage, but the hotel failed to provide any. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue, they refused to refund the money or offer any substantial proof of the damage. This experience has left a very negative impression, and I strongly advise against staying at Hotel Dell'Angelo. It’s by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. --- I hope this review helps convey your dissatisfaction and warns others about potential issues with the hotel.
