This is a hotel that does pretty much everything well. It’s excellent.||We arrived late, just before dinner closed. The receptionist said “Don’t worry about finishing check in. Put your luggage in the cupboard, enjoy your dinner and come back and I will have everything ready for you.” We were off to a very good start.||Sticking with food, we were on a deal which was full board including wine with lunch and dinner. All meals were buffets, and all were delicious. As well as standard fare there some great items that you never see in the UK, for example rabbit (which was superb).||Breakfast was good, although bacon and ‘English’ sausage weren’t great. Better to try the more local alternatives. Scrambled eggs were superb mind, and baked beans (when we managed to find them - for your reference they are in an unlabelled cauldron near the oatmeal) were high quality. They also have a toaster that actually works! If you’re UK based you’ll be impressed by some of the condiments: HP sauce and Lea & Perrins for example. Continental options were good and the fresh breads delicious.||Lunch and dinner were very similar but always really good. Hot and cold options were many and varied. The ‘freshly grilled in front of you’ meat, fish and vegetable items were excellent, although I did once catch an undercooked (raw in the middle) piece of pork.||Hot meats on the buffet were the stars of the show for me. Beef, pork, chicken, lamb and the aforementioned rabbit, all cooked in different ways. Fish and seafood was also very good.||Star of the lunch service was always a huge and properly made paella (with wonderful caramelised soccorat). Content changed on a daily basis. Don’t miss it!||We chose white wine as part of our deal. For house wine the quality was good, and it was always properly chilled.||Service was always great and boy do the staff work hard.||The pool was lovely. Large enough for a decent swim, and entry was by a long gentle slope at one end and steps at the other. Sunloungers were comfortable and plentiful, as were tables.||The floors, inside and out, were scrubbed and cleaned every day.||My room was lovely. The bed was large and comfortable. The AC worked well, was very easy to use and cooled the room gently. The bathroom was in good condition, immaculately clean and the shower had decent power. There was also a mini bar which provided a variety of drinks (at extra cost). I didn’t buy anything from the mini bar, but it was useful as a fridge for a fridge for my own soft drinks and water. ||Most impressive was my balcony. It was large, had good furniture but most impressive of all was the planting. My room was on the first floor, so I had plants beyond the balcony at my level, plants draping down from the balcony above and trees coming up from the courtyard below. Really lovely. ||Staff didn’t wear name badges so I can’t credit individuals other than Jesus, who was on reception at the dining room for a number of services. He was efficient, very charming and highly amusing.||Pricing for rooms and full board was very keen, so I can’t fault the value for money. Extras such as drinks at the bar were reasonably priced. One strange quirk was that you couldn’t pay with cash at the bar. Instead the bar gave you a slip, you paid in cash at reception, they stamped it and you took it back to the bar. A bit bizarre but it worked reasonably well. Wouldn’t be great if it was busy. ||The location is great. Close enough to the strip but not too close. It’s up a fair slope from the beach and what you notice most are the mountains that surround the hotel. Lovely. If you want any extra drinks and snacks there is an Aldi, Lidl and Iceland all in easy walking distance. ||Entertainment is pretty average. Typically ‘one man bands’ playing with a backing track, or strange performance artists. You might like that - I don’t!!||In summary this hotel is pretty much flawless. I recommend it very highly.
