After having spent 4 days at the Garda lake, 4 days in Firenze/Tuscany, our 4 day stay at Küglerhof was the jewel on our vacation crown. Very friendly and relaxed reception - we (Belgian family of 4) arrived in the afternoon - so we could immediately enjoy the tasteful afternoon cakes that are offered on the house every day. |Rooms were perfect - we got nice valley view - and after unpacking we explored the nice garden and pool area, and even played a game of Boccia. |We are foodies, and during our vacation we already got spoiled by the excellent Italian cuisine, but what the kitchen produced at Küglerhof was really top level. Not only the first evening, but the whole stay! Combine that with beautiful surroundings (definitely make a long walk in the mountains, do an e-bike tour and visit Merano with the one-seater chairlift!), a remarkable interior design, a cosy atmosphere, nice spa and excellent service and you have a the ingredients for a marvelous holiday.

We stayed at hotel der Küglerhof for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The hotel is located at the top of dorf Tirol and offers fantastic views and is a great starting point for several hikes. The hotel and the facilities are beautiful with nice and spacious rooms, a great pool area and a dining area that has breathtaking views. The staff was incredibly helpful, thoughtful and had a great eye for details. The waiting staff remembered our wine order from several days back and immediately learnt our coffee preferences by heart. The reception staff gave us great recommendations about day trips and assisted with booking of activities. A lovely touch was also that the room got looked over and freshened up basically every time we left the room! Great service!!! The food, regardless breakfast, snacks or dinner, was impeccable and held star quality!! In addition, they offered a great selection of Tirolian wines. |Overall, we had a perfect stay at der Küglerhof and would love to come back soon!|Frida & Erik Gillsbro

A fantastic location with views from the pool and the restaurant/terrace over the valley below and the mountain ranges either side. Our room shared those views from a spacious balcony - but some rooms (presumably costing less look out over the car park or the red of the hotel so be sure to check). Rooms are a very good size even if the bathrooms are a little small and nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Beds are very comfortable. There is no air-conditioning but we found that, even on hot August days, the altitude meant that nights were cool enough not to need it. Dinner is a five-course affair with enough choice per course; it's not daunting, with each course being nicely balanced and not too large. Wine choice is excellent - with both local wines and others from further afield - and fairly priced. There are plenty of walks for all levels and Merano is easily accessible by public transport, so there's plenty to do before spending a couple of hours by the pool. It's true, as a previous reviewer has mentioned, that the majority of guests and middle-aged Germans and, therefore, it's not the most lively place after dinner but if you're looking for a relaxing time in the mountains, with access to great walks and a high level of hospitality and service, Der Kuglerhof ticks all the boxes.

The hotel is at an wonderful spot and with a beautiful view. The terrace has a great view and breakfast/lunch there in the sun I perfect. ||The food is very good the chef knows what he is doing. ||There are rooms with stunning view - over the whole valley of Meran/Bolzano - great, you need to get this rooms. ||We - unfortunately - were in a room (junior suite) with view to the mountain, was OK but not what we booked and the noise of the kitchen exhaust hood was more than disturbing. ||We told the manager that the server over all have an attitude- as this is the business of the service this shouldn’t be. They sometimes are “destroying” the good work to the chef due to their attitude.

We enjoyed our stay at Kueglerhof, especially the design and views from the lobby and the lovely breakfast. ||The restaurant is also very good and the set dinner is delicious, with no buffet options which we liked a lot. The man attending the bar was very nice and attentive and the drinks were also quite good. ||What we did not like so much was our room which had a really old bath (not the expectation for a hotel in this price class) and the owners that we found (in line with other reviews) a bit arrogant and rude (e.g. No help offered with the luggage, no interest in providing guests a nice stay by giving recommendations, etc.)||Since there are so many nice hotels in suedtirol we are not sure if we would stay here again.

We have stayed at Hotel der Küglerhof 8 or 10 years ago, and we were delighted with the place it is situated, the hotel, the staff and the food. However, over the last couple of years the hotel has been heavily renovated from top to bottom and expanded. We were very well aware of this when we booked a new stay. And it is now a fantastic stylish hotel with the best of designs. However, in our mind this trend and in this process, which we have seen all over the world into designer and boutique hotel, and which Hotel der Küglerhof, is a shiny example of, the Hotel der Küglerhof has lost its authenticity. We loved very much the old Küglehof, and we are impressed by the transformation process, but!!!

We had a wonderful visit to Der Kuglerhof. Our stay came at the end of an activity-packed trip where we had stayed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Cortina d’Ampezzo. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful views. The people are great. Peter and Silke were so nice and helpful and made our visit very special. The food from the restaurant was excellent. They accommodated my wife’s dietary needs with amazing dishes. All the food was of extremely high quality, imaginative, and tasty! Being from California, it was a nice treat to taste some of the excellent local wines they have on their well thought out wine list. We enjoyed our spa visits with one of the best therapeutic massages ever. My wife had just run the Zugspitze Ultrathon and the massage was just the thing to sooth her sore muscles. The view from our room’s balcony was breathtaking. Truly a panoramic view! The beds were extremely comfortable. The service overall was top notch. All in all a great place to stay that is run by extremely nice and welcoming people. We will definitely return!

The setting of the hotel is gorgeous!. They have a million dollar view. The hotel is away from the town; but you can catch a bus at the end of the road where hotel is located and ride to town for about 1.5 euros one way. We chose to walk. It's a nice walk. I wouldn't recommend driving to town. Parking in town is very limited. ||||There are may walks you can take in the area. I recommend (1) the Apfelweg: You walk through apple orchards. They grow apples on vines like grapes. (2) the Weinweg: You walk through the vineyards. This is a must. or (3) for a milder walk try the Falkner Promenade--all within walking distance of the hotel. If you take the Weinweg, you can catch a bus (No. 222) at the end of the walk to take you back to the hotel. ||||We booked a Double Room with a king bed with a south facing balcony. The room itself was smaller than we expected. It wasn't cramped or anything; I just thought it would be more spacious. The room had windows all along one wall with a gorgeous view of the vineyards, apple orchards and green valley to the south. The balcony was nice sized and furnished with one chair and one lounge chair. There were two easy chairs inside with a small rattan table. We had reading lights by the bed, a full length mirror, a closet with sufficient shelves, a safe, and a small refrigerator for the mini bar. The bathroom was very small and cramped. Only one of us could be in the bathroom comfortably. The shower door leaked a lot. The bed was a bit too firm for us; but it seems that that is the norm in Europe. ||||Food and service at the restaurant was very good. We loved the breakfast. They make eggs to order for you, along with all the other goodies at the buffet. Wonderful breads. At 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. they have a spread of cold cuts and cheeses, plus a variety of delicious desserts. Tea is available. You can also order drinks from the bar. This was my favorite time; but we didn't make it every day. Dinner was mostly delicious. This was not buffet. Every course was brought to the table. They normally gave you a choice of appetizer, soup, salad, entree and dessert. We had assigned tables for dinner. For breakfast we sat wherever we wanted. Dinner took at least two hours every night. There was too much time between courses; but I think that's how the Europeans like it. We were the only English speaking guests that I know of during our stay; but all the staff either knew English very well or at least enough to undertand your needs. ||||We had nice bathrobes in the room. They even had slippers that fit my husband. Normally hotel slippers are too small for him. ||||It is a very peaceful setting. We never heard any noises inside the room, except when we were on the balcony or heard other guests on their balcony when we had our sliding glass door open. ||||The hotel has a nice grassy area with lounge chairs overlooking the valley that look very inviting; but we never got a chance to use them. There is a nice garage to park your car for free. ||||We really enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.
