I had a terrible stay and can’t believe this hotel carries a 3-star rating — it deserves 1 at best. Don’t be fooled by the cheaper price. It’s essentially self-service: no reception, just a local phone number that may or may not answer in emergencies. The building has a constant stuffy smell, the “winder” staircase is dangerously narrow for carrying luggage, and our room (#29) had a private bathroom located outside across the hall like a dorm. At 11pm we discovered the shower had only scalding hot water with no cold option in 90° summer heat, and the bathroom also had bugs. Check-in/out is through a self-service machine that wasn’t even working at departure. Worst of all, the owner is completely untrustworthy: they charged me ~$3,600 a month in advance despite booking “Pay at Property” via Hotels.com, then refused to refund after I cancelled within the refund window. I only recovered my money after disputing the charge with my credit card company. This review is for the stay I actually completed after cancelling my original reservation — an experience so bad it left me with nightmares until my refund was secured. This hotel is unsafe, unreliable, and deceptive. Avoid it at all costs.
