Hôtel des Alpes

I chose Annecy as a halfway point to the south of France and selected Hotel des Alpes. It does not look like much from the outside, but I loved the interior. Charming and good sized room, cozy (and also big enough). The cutest and tiniest elevator I've ever seen. Friendly & helpful staff, parking to unload in front of hotel and underground parking (discounted) just a couple of walking minutes away. Near train station. Despite being central, the room was super quiet. Easy walking distance to beautiful old town Annecy and plenty of restaurants & cafes in the near vicinity.

The hotel's location is very conavenient - just a 3 min walk from the bus and train stations. We took a bus directly from Lyon international airport so we really appreciated its accessibility. The only downside was an unpleasant odor in the bathroom. It smalled like the drain. Every time I used the bathroom, I had to pinch my nose. ||I should also mention that the hotel reception is on the first floor, and there is no lift from the ground floor to the reception. And, there is a lift from the reception to the upper floors, but it is very small and can only fit two people. ( I don't recommend bringing a large suitscase. ) || ||Other than that, I think this hotel offers good value. The room was spacious and reasonably priced.

I had an excellent stay at Hôtel des Alpes. The staff were wonderful and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. My room even had a nice view onto the street below with the mountains in the distance. The only thing I would change was that the drain in the shower in my room was a bit slow moving, but not enough to cause any problems. I would highly recommend staying here during a trip to Annecy- the location is right near the train station and many restaurants and tourist areas, and the accommodation is affordable and good quality.

Had a a wonderful stay in Annecy. Great staff, good breakfast, free parking in nearby garage. Clean room. Very good value for the money in the city centre. Small things to improve: A powerplug near the bed, better knives at breakfast (mine was more "flexible" than the ccoled butter ;-)).

The location of this hotel is the best part of it. We were surprised that the rooms did not have safes or fridges, which is pretty standard. They also make you leave your room key at the front desk which seems odd to not get the choice. You leave it in a basket if the employee is away from the desk, and when you get your key they don’t ask for a name or anything at all. Just seems too relaxed of security for such a busy area. Most of the staff was friendly but one woman was consistently not, and made us all feel quite unwelcome.

The rooms are nice and clean. There was a bit of a humid smell in there, but it was fine when we turned on the A/C. The beds are great and comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful, clean and spacious.

Had such a wonderful stay here. The location is perfect and great value. Less than a ten minute walk to the main town center, lake, and 2 min walk to the train or bus station.

Stayed 1 night, excellent location across the road from train station. Clean and tidy room, good shower pressure. Was perfectly acceptable for 1 night stay.

Two star hotel located close to Gare d'Annecy. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Also a bike friendly hotel with room to store in their basement. Lovely breakfast too. Fourth floor rooms have a sort of air conditioning. Lower level rooms have fans. Rooms are small but perfect for single travelers and groups of bikers ( as we were).

Stayed here as part of a conference trip; hotel has no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags up or ask the staff for help (they will help you!). Rooms are small and there is no air conditioning but there is a fan in the room to help you cool down. Annecy isn't terribly hot but some nights were warm so the fan helps. Stayed in a standard double room (much smaller than expected) -- the only warning I have is that the shower is small: I kept smashing my elbows while using it. Breakfast is buffet-style, just your usual selections of hams and cheeses, fruits, yogurt, cereal, baguette/bread/etc. They also give you a croissant (very, very good) when you come down and tell them your room number. Since the hotel is very small (only 35 rooms or so), there is no dry cleaning service nor dinner service, so you will need to go out to grab a bite. The hotel is walking distance into the old town, so the location is great and it is right across from the main train station in Annecy. Staff are friendly and have a very good memory (I was surprised they always remembered my room number). Overall, a good stay.
