Great stay in Rome! A short walk to Termini. Close enough to the main attractions that it’s walkable 25-30 mins - but we chose to take short cab rides during our stay. Marcelo was extremely helpful throughout our stay! The rooms were clean and decorated with classic old world Italian decor. Beds were comfortable! Cute roof area to enjoy a drink in the ending and unwind! Luggage storage was helpful prior to check in allowing us to securely store our bags while we explored while waiting for our room to be ready! Lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby as well. Disliked · The shower stall could use a lip to keep the water in. The first shower we took ended with water all over the floor. Thankfully the cleaning staff were nearby and was able to provide us with additional towels for clean up. Overall, a great stay and would definitely stay again when in Rome!

We stayed in 2 rooms at the Hotel Des Artistes for 4 nights in the middle of July. The staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming. Each floor is accessible with a traditional elevator, or via beautiful marble stairs. The rooms were very spacious with plenty storage for our clothing. There were plenty USB ports, making it very convenient for charging devices, etc. There was also a UK socket, so no need for an adapter. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided, and there was a small refrigerator which was perfect for keeping a few bottles of water in. The bathroom was a good size, with a powerful walk-in shower, with toiletries provided. Bed linen and towels were changed everyday, and the rooms were immaculate. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable meaning we all had an excellent night’s sleep. The air conditioning was very effective, and much needed in temperatures of around 35 degrees. The roof terrace was very pleasant in the evenings; it had some shade sails meaning it could be used in the afternoons, providing shade from the hot sun. The hotel is situated in a quiet street, but is surrounded by plenty restaurants and convenience stores. We ate at a selection of nearby restaurants and found the food to be very reasonable and tasty. The main train station is a short walk from the hotel, where a number of high street shops can be found. It was handy that the bus stop for the hop on hop off buses could be found at the end of the street, making this hotel a perfect base for exploring the beautiful city of Rome. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. |The hotel was perfect! Check in was super quick and our room was ready when we arrived. Staff are so friendly! Always saying hello and checked in with us to make sure our room was okay. They also helped us with information on a taxi to the Vatican. ||We had a room on the 3rd floor and the room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy, and the shower was great. Really liked the mini toiletries in the bathroom too. |The room was beautifully decorated with artwork and beautiful heavy curtains that kept the sunlight out. Room had air conditioning and we loved that it had a kettle and tea/coffee which was very welcome after our flight.||Cleaning staff were friendly and efficient and our room was cleaned really well. ||Breakfast was a continental buffet style with lots of choice and perfect for us to start the day. ||There’s a lovely roof top terrace, we only used it once, but was quiet and a nice place to sit and relax. ||The hotel was in a great location, close to the Termini station, walking distance to the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. |||We really enjoyed our stay here. So much so, that we’re already planning on coming back next year! We would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Stayed at the Hotel Des Artistes for a family weekend in Rome. The location is very good, close to the station, with good transport links but also walkable to some of the main tourist areas. The staff were very friendly and we felt welcomed on arrival. The rooms had everything we needed for our short stay and were well maintained each day. Breakfast was a buffet and had enough choice for us, except a gluten free option. Although to be fair we didn’t enquire if it was possible. Lots of choices for restaurants within easy walking distance.

Very happy with our stay at this hotel. We booked through Jet2 and were looking for a hotel providing good value accommodation to use as a base to explore Rome. We spent 4 nights there in mid June. The room was pleasant, bathroom was large with a good walk in shower. Air conditioning was efficient (and needed!). Excellent maid service every day unless you didn’t want it ( you opt out rather than in). Very good breakfast - replenished regularly even if you went late. And a lovely roof terrace with plenty of seating where people often ate takeaways or just sat and enjoyed the evening heat. But the best thing was the staff who were lovely and friendly - and had great tips for places to go. Including the best local ice cream parlour. We would go again. Also only 5 minutes to train station - and a few minutes from the Metro. So really conveniently placed.

Lovely hotel, from the moment we got there we were welcomed by the friendly reception team. |The rooms were lovely and clean and the towels and bedding were changed daily. |The breakfast had lots of choice and was very nice. |The roof top terrace was great to have and we used it daily. Lovely to sit on to relax and have a drink. |10 minutes walk from the train station and easy access to the town centre.|Would highly recommend this hotel.

A lovely place, with friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are clean and have plenty of space. ||The continental breakfast has a lot to offer and is all fresh. I was 5 weeks post op for a Gastric Sleeve, but managed to find something to eat in the soft phase I was on. ||The hotel is about 9 minutes walk from the Termini station and with Google maps, easy to find. We arrived by the Teravison bus €9 one way direct from the airport.||We enjoyed the restaurant which is just a few doors down. It doesn't look much from the outside, but they were friendly and the food was delicious. If you carry on down past the restaurant, there is a Pam Local shop. ||We opted for the IOBUS ticket to get about, and tbh in the heat was a good send!

The hotel is a five minute walk from the mainland train station - really easy to get to. Staff at reception were great amd helped us settle in. Rooms are clean and tidy. Only let down is views but it's central Rome and can't expect miracles in a city centre. Food is good too.

Yelp
We stayed here while visiting Rome. We had a clean, though dated room, with our own bathroom. The room was standard European, not much extra room besides the bed and a desk, but we didn't plan to spend too much time in the room and it was sufficient for our needs. AC worked well, which was important for the 90 degree August days. We opted to spend extra to include the breakfast and were glad we did. It was a pretty typical European breakfast. They had cereal, apples, coffee, hard boiled eggs, lunch meat and cheese, fresh croissants and pastries, and pies, in addition to some scrambled eggs. It was a good way for us to start our day, and we enjoyed interacting with the other guests. The location was good, right around the corner from a metro stop, and about a 10 minute walk from Termini station which was great for us after we flew into Rome as there is an express train from the airport to Termini, and when we headed off to Florence. The staff was friendly, the price was reasonable, and location was good for us, all in all worth checking out for a trip to Rome.

Yelp
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at Hotel des Artistes! My friends and I had intended to book three beds in a shared room, but accidentally ended up booking one bed in a three-bed room instead. When we arrived I think our mistake was obvious almost immediately to Daniel at the front desk, but he was very patient as we pieced it together ourselves. He then went out of his way to explain our options (even going so far as to tell us about other hostels in the area, if we wanted to compare prices), then helped us book another room for two of us to stay in (it ended up being the best and cheapest option by far). Daniel's kind and lighthearted demeanor made what could have been a very stressful situation almost feel fun. The rooms we stayed in were very clean and spacious enough for the three of us, as we spent most of the day out and about. I had never stayed in a hostel with a shared bathroom before, and was a little nervous, but ultimately my concerns were unfounded. There were several bathrooms on our floor--all of which were always extremely clean! The rooftop terrace was also gorgeous and well-maintained and was a great place to relax after a long day and take in the city. At the end of our trip, Daniel also helped us arrange for a (very) early-morning taxi, which made our trip to the airport stress-free. I would highly recommend staying here. You won't find better staff anywhere else!

Yelp
One of the things you have to get used to when traveling around Europe, is fairly high hotel fees - we paid 174 EUR for 2 nights (about 225 USD), in the low-season. Yes the hotel was clean, but it was fairly old, with older furnishings and was not in the best neighborhood (near the train station). If you are on a budget this place is good enough as it allows you to access the train station/metro as well as buses, however, with that said, if I were going back to Rome, I would probably venture to try another place in another location.

Yelp
I give it a four because of locations. But you pay more their hotel taxes and you pay for WiFi. The room is nice though. You have to pay for breakfast. All and all and ok place just to stay near the terminal station. Which enabled us to see these beautiful iconic sculptures and art.

Yelp
This hotel was near the terminal which was a plus because you could get to all the historic places rather quickly whether it was by metro/bus/taxi. Wifi you have to pay extra 2 euros a day or 5 euros for a week. Internet connection was not great. Breakfast was served between 7 am- 10 am the earlier you get there the greater the selection. The rooms were clean, we stayed in room 105 and it faced the bar across the street. Very noisy at night. This is a hostel as well. Luckily we had our own bathroom inside of our room which was great. BUT at night you could hear everything from the younger people yelling, slamming doors at 2 am and etc.

Yelp
I stayed here for 2 nights. Other than location (close to Rome terminal and subway), nothing about this place stand out that much. I stayed here as a hostel rather than a hotel. So I shared with 4 other people. Nothing in the kitchen, you can't store thing since it share with all the other rooms. Bathroom was clean wish they had some hook to hang clothes. Overall it was ok, I would stay only if I have an other short trip in Rome, and need some place that is easy to travel to and from.

Yelp
My husband & I went on a two-week long European honeymoon on a budget & stayed here. I found Hostel des Artistes on hostelworld.com & couldn't have been happier with my selection. Yes, we had to share a shower and toilet with 2 other rooms, but we never had a problem or wait. There are multiple shower/toilet rooms on the floor so if the closest one was occupied, we just went to another. There is a sink & mirror in the room as well. One of the things my husband had to adjust to while on our honeymoon was the pillow situation. Unlike American hotels, the hotels where we stayed only provide one pillow per person. He fashioned an extra pilllow out of a blanket but was elated when housekeeping saw his "pillow" and provided him with an extra. Seriously, he loved it. The staff was incredibly helpful at check-in providing us with a map that we used for our entire stay. The hotel is close to the Termini station, the metro, and many, many good restaurants. If we ever travel to Rome again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here!

Yelp
Hotel is clean, great location. One problem: noise from other rooms, because the walls are very thin and very poor sound insulation. :( You can hear everything what going on in the hotel and behind the wall

Yelp
we are staying here at the moment, the hotel is lovely, clean and the staff are very pleasant & helpful, with a great breakfast selection, lovely room, and also a good wi-fi connection at a very low cost! we are close to all the transport and there are plenty of restaurants and snack/coffee bars close by, also some small shops. this hotel is very reasonable priced and there is also a safe free of charge in every room, huge colour T.V and towels changed daily if you wish also maid service what more can you want!!!
