Hôtel des Célestins

This is a great small hotel with an excellent staff. Newly redone room with a great bath. Comfortable bed and air conditioning made for a good sleep. It's on a not-too-busy street but in the heart of the Presqu'île so it was easy to get around to the great museums in Lyon and there are some wonderful restaurants close by. The staff was responsive and kind about my French but also spoke excellent English. The breakfast was a buffet with plenty of good local products. This was our second stay at Hôtel des Célestins and we were very pleased with it.

You cannot beat the location. It is a very nice hotel with an excellent and accommodating staff. The rooms are very comfortable with nice bed linens and towels. The breakfast was very good also. On our next trip to Lyon, we will stay there again.

Excellent location, great price! Our stay was great and the rooms were clean, comfortable, had A/C, and were larger than usual by international standards. We were right in the middle of everything and the hotel staff was helpful. Breakfast was fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel!

We loved our short stay at Hotel des Celestins. Our room was small but very comfortable, there were helpful shelves around the room for some storage, and the shower was great. The hotel is in a fantastic location, and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful, and I was provided with gluten free granola and crackers which was so helpful. Would 100% recommend this hotel!

We stayed in the hotel’s top floor apartment for 8 days with our 2 adult daughters. It was roomy and well designed. The location is fabulous for seeing all the sights, going to the tourism info office and it is very near the daily fresh food market at the river. The staff which includes the owner and his family, are lovely and helpful and speak English well . Highly recommend the Lyon tourist city card It is well worth it and includes excellent tours and activities. We found the people of Lyon to be very friendly too. Lived our visit.

A gracious little hotel in a superb location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast, excellent dining suggestions. An old building creates some challenges, but worth the effort!

Stayed here beginning of June. The weather was cool and rainy. Some days partly sunny. The hotel is in a high end shopping area. Lots of shops and less restaurants but more restaurants within walking distance. |The room has a small safe. Good shower with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Plenty of counter space and drawers. We were on the 4th floor. Hotel has an elevator and key is provided for front door since reception is not on the ground level. Seems secure. ||The bedroom windows faced the street. Good view of the theater and Basilica up above.|Mostly quiet. Some nights the theater had a production going on that started at 10 at night. Got to see it all. Not intrusive at all and usually production didn’t last more than 30 minutes. ||The bed was somewhat firm but not uncomfortable. AC worked fine. Room was good size.||Breakfast was open until noon which works if you want to sleep in. Mostly a French breakfast.||We had to do laundry one day and the hotel took care of it. We were going to go do it ourselves but they said it was $22 for a bag full and that was inexpensive and worth it for us. Didn’t really want to lug laundry in the rain. Laundry was ready the next day.||All the staff are very helpful and kind. Oriana was great and always making sure everything was good and ready to assist in anything. ||Would definitely stay here again if ever in Lyon.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and found our room wonderfully comfortable despite the heat outside. Floor-to-ceiling blackout curtains helped us sleep well. By day, the hotel staff thoughtfully answered our questions about local sights and transportation, and helped get us hydrated. The hotel is in a great location--very walkable from cafes and shopping on both sides of the river, but in a quieter area than hotels in Vieux Lyon.

We two chose to stay in a regular room facing the inside court. Highly recommend for a short stay in Lyon. Convenient location, with easy and quick access to Lyon's main sites. Excellent experience and a great value. - Excellent modern bathroom with good quality towels. - Comfortable bed with good quality linens. - Very clean. - Elevator access to each floor. Front desk service was outstanding and friendly, including making dinner reservations for us for both nights of our stay. You have the option of paying on arrival, which allows a very fast checkout: just drop your room key at the front desk.

Oh my goodness, this little hotel is positively adorable. Tiny and narrow with four floors of clean rooms. Our two rooms were just perfect with everything we needed for our overnight in Lyon. Great location, super hospitality, reasonable prices, and clean comfort. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Lyon!

A wonderful hidden treasure of a hotel in the old town. Parking is minimal but can be booked ahead but there is a secure car park literally next door in the square that is a mere 2 minute walk. The staff are amazingly welcoming, free wifi was offered as we arrived and a map of the local area. I was on the fourth floor and although the lift is abut small and rickety it is typical of the regions in France. The security is excellent ( double door locking system) and rooms are comfortable and clean. I had a view of the opera house from my window and tea and coffee making inn the room was appreciated Air conditioning and excellent cupboard spaces were excellent. There is also a safe in the room to lock away valuables. Highly recommended.

This is a very nice place to stay. My wife and I were there for two nights. We stayed in a suite which was nice sized, had a very modern bathroom and a great apartment feel to it. The elevator is small and bumpy but it serves it's purpose. The hotel staff was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable. She suggested a couple of nice places to eat and how to get around. The breakfast was nice and fairly cheap compared to places I have stayed.
