The reservation was done smoothly via Booking. The Front Desk team, especially Justin, is extremely friendly and knowledgable. They also have great recommendations for restaurants, which I then proceeded to reserve a table for the Legende next door (absolutely liked the quick entrance through the hotel!). The room was clean and cozy, nice touch with the amenity & breakfast being delivered to the room. The location is very convenient, only 5 min walk from the VIA rail station. Overall, this was a great experience and i left Quebec City with a belly full of good food & a heart full of happiness! :)

I booked through Booking. The pre-arrival experience was great as staff were very attentive and helpful with recommendations. Nice location and great area but not too loud/busy as downtown. 5-min walk from the train station if you’re looking to catch a train to Montréal-very convenient! Breakfast is included. They have a working space and gym downstairs.

The front desk people were friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, good size and clean. Breakfast is delivered in the morning and was good. A lot of bread which was too much for us but what a problem... right. The bar next door is Taverne Belley and is a great local bar with a fireplace. We stopped by every evening on our way home. Such a great area.

My wife and I treated ourselves to a mini vacation over Christmas and had a wonderful time at Hotel des Coutellier! Everything in the hotel was perfect for our stay and the staff was warm and friendly. Special shout out to the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in! We look forward to staying here again!

The hotel was extremely clean & the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The beds & bedding & the robes provided were luxurious. A continental breakfast was delivered daily to our rooms & was most enjoyable as was the coffee provided in our room. In all, a delightful experience & highly recommended.

We really enjoyed this lovely hotel, and couldn't recommend it highly enough. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. It is in a great location, with a 20 minute walk from the cruise port (worthy of consideration when 3,500 others are fighting for transport) and about the same to the old town - although the latter seems shorter when walking through the quaint and picturesque streets. Breakfast is served to your room and this is a lovely touch, with breakfast in bed, before exploring this beautiful city. You won't regret booking this hotel, and staying in this fantastic city.

Overall, and exceptional experience. But I have a few caveats: while the continental breakfast is included, the little lunch bag it comes in is not. We found the $20 price tag confusing (ie it's $20 if you steal the bag). Desk manager said this was common, but it was news to us. Not on the hotel, but FYI Quebec City does not take Discover. Also, we use USA Consumer Cellular - no towers in Quebec City, so you can only Uber if you are in Wi-Fi range.

Just perfect. Service is as excellent as the hotel itself. We’re used to Venetian and Wynn at Vegas, and this is better. They made no shortcuts; it’s wonderful.||Having stayed here, I’m convinced the rare negative reviews are internet trolls or competing hotels. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back soon!

We stayed here 4 nights to attend the ice carnival Feb 1-5 We had suite 207 which was lovely Breakfast was dropped off at our door each morning at 7 am. Delicious croissants, each morning a different add on ... yogurt, roll, cheese etc with juice and jams. We had a Nespresso coffee machine in our room All the staff was very helpful and parking was ample across the street for $17/night. (We had a pick up truck) and no issues Everything was very clean. Great housekeeping

Not much more to add to all the other 5 star reviews! Convenient yet peacefully removed from the tourist hubbub - it's right by both the train station and a self park lot, but looks out on the pleasant greenway of the waterfront instead of the cobblestone hubbub of old town, which is just a few blocks stroll away. Small footprint but well organized and immaculately appointed - loved the breakfast purse and handsome comfy built-in bookcase bed frame. Lovely staff. Highly recommended.

Immaculately clean, convenient parking across the street, helpful and kind staff, and a bag of delicious breakfast treats left at your door by 7 every morning. pretty ideal. The only thing I would improve upon is replacing the Keurig machines in the rooms with Nespressos- better coffee. Even though you're on a main drag, the rooms are very soundproof. We'd definitely stay here again. I'm not sure I've ever stayed anywhere more clean and tidy.

The hotel is lovely. Very clean and very helpful employees. Very happy with our choice. We did choose this hotel because it had easy access to parking. Lot is right across the street. The restaurant next door called Legende was quite nice and the food and drinks were delicious. Just have the front desk make a reservation for you. All in all very pleased. We stayed here for 4 nights.

Perfect location for walking throughout your stay in Quebec ! The staff is the friendliest we have ever had - especially Justin ! The complimentary breakfast delivered to your door every morning is such a nice bonus .... Breakfast in bed while we planned our day . Would recommend without hesitation!

This hotel is one of my favorite hotel ever. The place is down the hill from Old Quebec sites. It was perfect for me. The staff was able to accommodate us arriving 1am in the morning due to delayed flights. You will get your breakfast by your door every morning. It will have some croissants and muffin or banana bread at times but they will bring anything you need, using the request forma included in your room. I highly recommend this place. We would definitely stay here again, if we are even in Quebec. Also on a side note, there's a pub and a restaurant called Legendé on the premises. Highly recommend those as well.

A big Yes, a really nice hotel. I have decided to book this hotel because of its ambiance and great hotel rooms. When I arrived the desk representative greeted us very warmly and described everything in details. The rooms were very very cozy, and I miss that HUGE kings bed and clean toilets. Unfortunately, there was no options for breakfast. However, they have French restaurant on site, so you will get to try some unique dishes that I am not a fan of. The overall experience was really nice, so I would definitely come back to that hotel. It is BTW in old Quebec, so you have got a chance to see all the beauty of the city within limited footsteps. The one thing that bothered me was the entrance, it was really confusing for me during a blizzard.

This is a great boutique hotel located walking distance crom Old Quebec. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Pauline was very nice and helpful, she provided us with good recommendations for restaurants and places go see, and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this hotel.

All-around excellent hotel. Service is friendly and efficient. Continental breakfast is dropped off at your door every morning. The attached restaurant is upscale with excellent service; also, there are cheaper options nearby. It is a fifteen minute walk to the nearest commercial street (Petite Champlaine in the Lower Town) and the funicular to the Upper Town.

Great hotel! very friendly staff. Clean modern well equipped rooms at the edge of old town. Restaurant under renovation so no food options, however they hang a breakfast cooler pouch outside you door with great fresh croissant and Danishes, butter and jam and marmalade. Also two apple sauce cups and coffee creamers and milk for the keurig coffee machine. When going out for dinner they even offer you an umbrella if you forgot yours. 24 hr parking is included at a parking lot actions the road.

Fantastic hotel and excellent location! Rooms are large and the bathroom is awesome! Friendly staff who knows the area well!

This Hotel is perfect. I LOVED having breakfast croissants and treats left at my door every morning to enjoy in my room with my coffee. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were wonderful. And the location is ideal: a 5 min walk from the lower city or the upper city, and across from the Vieux Port where the fantastic market is housed year 'round. Cheap parking across the street, a good Belgian pub with mussels next door. On my third trip to Quebec city, I found the perfect location... no more crowded with tourists worn out upper town hotels, no more staying way out past the gates, this place is just won me over in every way. Did I mention- the rooms are super reasonably priced!?!?

This is an adorable boutique hotel facing across the street from the wall of quebec city. The location was great and my husband and I really enjoyed our stay there this past weekend. If you are using your GPS to try to get there you may not be able to find the address. That's what happened to us and when we picked a nearby landmark that fixed the problem. Try using the hotel next door. Also, the Marché du Vieux-Port de Québec is directly across the street. The homme at reception was so helpful and because of him we ended up at so many lovely places including the boat races of the Winter Carnival. You can park across the street for $9 per day, breakfast comes in a little basket delivered to your door each morning, wireless is included, plus we had a flat screen tv too. There's an in room coffee maker, beer and wine glasses and a mini bar with reasonable prices. And, for good measure, there's a belgian beer bar adjacent to the hotel on the left and to the right is another more casual bar. We paid about $150 per night on the weekend during Winter Carnival in 2010. I know you can pay less, but I would stay there again! Fab!

Amazing hotel! The staff was helpful and pleasant, the room was beautiful (king superior room) and the location is perfect. It is so nice to have a complimentary continental breakfast delivered to your door, and what a lovely breakfast it is. The first morning it was croissants and scones with yogurts and orange juice. The next day was chocolate croissants and apple muffins. Plates and mugs are already in your room. I highly recommend a stay here to enjoy the sights of Quebec.

What an incredible value in a small hotel! Located across from the Marche at the Vieux Port in an area that is full of high quality antique stores and fashion retail. It is in the lower town, but a street behind the hotel takes you the upper town. A bus stop for the Ecolobus (small electric bus that navigates the upper town) is right next to the hotel. Rooms are on four floors and are spacious and modern. There is plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The bathrooms are modern and the beds are comfy. Every morning, a small picnic basket is placed on a hook outside the door. It contains a proper continental breakfast (there is a coffee maker in the room). The staff is small but incredibly friendly and helpful. They always tried to make us feel at home and give good local advice. If this were not enough, the room rates are exceedingly reasonable. I highly recommend Hotel des Coutellier for leisure travelers.

Just stayed for a few nights and had a great visit. Staff were terrific, and helpful with recommendations. Location is in a quiet spot, and an easy walk to every downtown attraction. The room was very cozy, very clean, and comfortable to stay in. Agree with other reviewers - having fresh breads, yogurt, OJ, coffee creamer, etc. delivered outside your door every morning is a wonderful touch. It created a very relaxing start to each day. Would definitely return if back in Quebec City...

My wife & I stay here every time we visit Quebec as it offers everything you need in a great hotel: excellent location, friendly staff, beautiful design and all the little things that add that extra flair like breakfast delivered to the room daily & little chocolate treats in the room upon arrival. Can't speak highly enough of this place!

Great hotel. We had a very comfortable room, well equipped with many amenities, and plenty of space despite being relatively small. The hotel has a nice charm and the staff is friendly. I loved the location because it's not on the middle of the busy tourist area, but close enough that you're there with a short walk. Love the market across the street for fresh fruit.

Great Hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give it 10 stars I would. There is not a single negative thing that I can say about this wonderful place. We have traveled the world and when i come back to Quebec City we will be staying here again. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Any questions about where to go and where to eat were answered professionally. Tours were arranged immediately. Paid for it at the hotel and we were on our way. We were in walking distance to many places and sights . The farmers market across the street from the hotel is a foodies dream. We shopped it on our morning we were leaving and packed it in our car. We li ve in the US and the drive was a pleasant 10 hr. ride with stops. We traveled with another couple. We got rooms next to each other but the setup was like we had a suite. We were in rooms 201 and 202. There is a unlocked door that opens to a tiny vestibule where both our rooms were. We all loved it because no one has access to that first door except us. We kept our doors open to each other when we were sharing wine and cheese that we bought. We also picked a room for the beautiful delicious breakfast that was delivered to our door by 7 am in an insulated bag. It was wonderful sitting with my cousin and her husband , all of us wearing the nice cozy robes provided and having breakfast together. The rooms are all newly renovated, the bedding is sooo comfortable and the bathroom has all you could possibly need and it is immaculate. Towels are high end and fluffy. We will all be back! Judi R.

My husband and I spent the first few nights of our honeymoon at Hotel des Coutellier.. It was amazing! We splurged on a suite which was well worth the money for the amenities (breakfast, soaking tub, a shower with more jets than a person could dream possible, the list goes on.). The room was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a romantic getaway. Location was great as well, just down from Old Montreal and across the street from the framer's market.

Great hotel clean and with everything and a reasonable price. Most importantly, it's so close to the train station as well as the old town.

I loved this hotel. The location is perfect. The train station is one block away. The bus stops for the electric bus that will carry you to and from the upper fortified city is less than a 1/2 block a way. As some else mentioned, the wonderful farmers market is across the street. The hotel staff was wonderful and extremely helpful to us. Loved the breakfast too.
