Worst hotel experience in Paris – ruined our entire trip
I’ve traveled extensively across Europe, the Middle East, and the US, and Hôtel des Deux-Îles was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The photos online are extremely misleading — our room felt like a tiny cage with barely enough space to move. Noise was constant from above, the neighboring room, and the street outside, making it impossible to rest.
Breakfast was a nightmare. The waiter was openly rude, throwing things at our table and ignoring requests, and the room was swarming with fruit flies and other bugs. I asked for a refund for breakfast, hoping for some compensation for this terrible experience, but the manager refused. Considering we spent almost €5,000 on this trip, this hotel ruined what was supposed to be a special vacation.
The hair dryer barely worked, the area outside felt unsafe — we were even confronted and attacked by a man near the bridge — and the room itself was cramped and uncomfortable. The only bright spot was the front desk staff, especially Alex, Alexi, and Merrianne, who were polite and helpful, but their efforts couldn’t make up for the disaster of this stay.
