This was a luxurious place to stay and enjoy Bastia. Located within the walls of the Citadel with easy access to the must see sights of the city. We had a superior double room with a balcony and had a great view of the harbor and islands off the coast. The room was a comfortable size but the balcony made this the place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I am sure we spent more time in our room because it was so welcoming and a great place to relax after walking all over town. I highly recommend this excellent hotel as the place to stay in Bastia.

Lovely hotel with amazing views. Very friendly staff. Room was lovely. Bathroom a bit basic shower wise for the rest of the hotel grandeur. Lack of decoration in the bedroom made it a bit plain when the rest of the hotel is so luxurious but apart from that the breakfast was plentiful and gorgeous. Would love to come back.

First stop in Corsica, straight off the ferry into the arms of this very comfortable, small hotel. Food for our late arrival was pre-arranged by email and ready for us to enjoy on the terrace overlooking the stunning port city. Our room facing the sea, was like a cave, cosy and buried into the hill, with a shared terrace. |Breakfast was sumptuous. Service excellent throughout the hotel. Cabs arranged to and from port hotel and station. Bastia is beautiful. I'd return in a heartbeat.

Stunning location and view from the room. The rooms were nice but sadly the bathroom was very mouldy with black mould in the shower and all around the floor. A lot of this looked like it could have been cleaned off. The fan above the shower was also completely filled with dust and dirt. For the price we paid I'd have expected better

Very good hotel with a friendly staff at the front desk. I enjoyed the location with beautiful views of the lighthouse(s) protecting the marina - the hotel is perched high up the hill, with an elevator to take you up and down to sea level should you choose not to climb it. Very clean and comfortable. My reason for a 4 star instead of 5 was the breakfast was lousy. Stale croissants, greying salamis, and cheese not in the best condition, and it cost Euro 25. I just recommend not eating there - plenty of places in town.

We booked this hotel because of its positioning and beautiful unobstructed view of the sea.||Our ferry arrived very late in the evening and there were no taxis in sight.|We found an open cafe and they were kind enough to call a taxi for us. |The hotel is definitely not an easy walk if you’re arriving by ferry (on foot) especially at night.||Once at the hotel we were warmly greeted, and upgraded to a room that was a larger than we’d booked.||The room was very clean and comfortable with a million dollar view.|Breakfast was very nice and had a wide selection of breads and cakes, cheese, cereal etc., something for everyone.||We took advantage of the fact that the hotel offered dinner and it was lovely!|On a chilly evening they set up our table next to a clacking fireplace! Perfect!|We ate there three out of four nights 😉|Our other choice for dinner was a three minute walk..so, you have choices.||With regards to location, it was perfect for us, you can either walk down to the city centre or take the elevator to the promenade and stroll around the harbour. It’s about a 15 minute walk to town. ||We would highly recommend Hotel des Gouverneurs! ||Thank you for your hospitality 😊

Excellent hotel, right above the sea. It's a little hard to find if you're walking but we had a friendly gentleman show us the way. Quiet, well-appointed rooms, comfortable bed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast buffet.

Very nice hotel right in the middle of the Citidel with amazing views of the harbor. Excellent service and large room. There is no parking, so you have to park in the Citidel parking lot and carry your bags to the hotel. There is a spa and indoor pool on the lower level of the hotel and the breakfast is on a patio overlooking the harbor.

Yelp
Pretty good hotel, better than I was expecting actually. It's not very easy to find, we got lost and saw several others looking for the hotel as well but everyone in the area is used to pointing you in the right direction. We stayed in a suite which was quite spacious with nice views and several windows, two which were floor length and opened fully. The bed was comfy and the pillows were dense but not as bad as some places we've stayed. Their bathroom leaves a lot to be desired, tiny shower with a too small surround so water gets everywhere. There was water coming out the top of the shower head but it still functioned properly. There's a note above the toilet written in a very rude tone about not wasting towels but when you have to mop up after the shower it's hard not to "waste" them. We didn't get to use the wellness area as it was closed for construction or something like that, the pool was open but in a tiny closed area of a basement so we didn't bother. At night you can also hear music from local bars but it wasn't bothersome to me at all since it's very dull. There's no immediate parking but there is a parking structure near by - motorcyclists beware! The locals will break your blinkers and vandalize your bike if you park in the alleys, like they did to our bike, so you must park in the parking "citadel" - it's a bit shady to walk back on the steep dark staircases but the car park it's self is well lit and seemed secure enough. Other than the weird bathroom/shower we loved our room and the bed was comfy. The breakfast in the morning was good, although the hot foods were cold there was lots of other options.
