We booked a Superior Room with Seaview and it was just as described. We were in room 26 and the view was fabulous - looking out to sea directly ahead and a view of the marina and port to the left. The big ferries coming and going went right past our window which I loved seeing. The room was spacious and very nice - large comfortable bed, good quality linen, big bathroom with double basins and roomy and powerful shower. Nice toiletries. Everything was very clean. ||We had a drink on the terrace in the evening - a lovely area with a spectacular view. All of the public areas of the hotel were very nicely furnished and inviting to spend time in. ||We parked in the Citadel Car Park which is 5 minutes walk - although up and down some steps. It closes overnight but you can get your car out 24/7.

Beautiful, historic, very quiet hotel with a comfortable and updated, spotless room with exceptional view. I had the least expensive room and it was large enough (euro standards) and had closet space for a week’s stay for two people. The bath had double sinks and all toiletries, robes, slippers were provided. The power outlets were well placed by bed (2) and in bath (1), wi-fi was good but bring your own entertainment as the TV was a bit of an afterthought. Safe of sufficient size for a tablet or small computer and accessories. Service was super friendly and helpful.

I booked this hotel expecting a room with a sea view, as shown in the photos. Instead, I was given a room located two floors underground, with no sea view at all. The listing was extremely deceptive. The photos showed high floor rooms with balconies and unobstructed views of the sea, which clearly do not represent all the rooms. Our room not only lacked a view but also had no privacy. People frequently stood right outside our door, smoking and taking photos. We had to keep the curtains closed the entire time just to prevent strangers from peering inside. Even in the hotel’s own “sea view” photos, the curtains are closed in some images, probably for the same reason. There is no elevator, so be ready to carry your luggage down several steep flights of stairs. The room itself was not clean and we found bugs inside. When I raised these concerns with the manager, a woman with a mole on her upper lip, she was rude and dismissive. I asked for a partial refund or at least a complimentary breakfast due to the misleading listing and poor experience, and she refused both. She should not be dealing with guests. As a final impression of the hotel’s standards, take a look at the dirty fishbowl in the lobby. The water is cloudy, filled with waste, and the fish is visibly swimming in filth. If that is how they maintain the condition of a fish tank that every guest walks past, you can imagine how little attention they pay to cleanliness elsewhere. I left feeling scammed. I do not recommend staying here unless you want to be misled and treated poorly.

Excellent hotel in the Citadel area of Bastia, overlooking the harbour and port. Very comfortable modern rooms with all facilities. Definitely worth getting a room with a view.|We stayed in February after Valentine's Day, and the hotel remained fairly busy throughout our stay. Very good breakfast, although the coffee could be better considering one is staying in a part of France !!|A few quibbles : |- we arrived by ferry late in the evening and the hotel had said that they had booked a taxi for us, but I had to call twice, and it eventually came half an hour late. It seemed to be the only taxi in Bastia ( which is highly unlikely ). |- there is only walking access to the hotel as it is in the old quarter where vehicles are not allowed. That could be a problem for people with mobility impairment.|- there are some very good restaurants in the local vacinity, and also a short walk into the main part of town or around the harbour, so we did not bother with trying the evening meals in the hotel. However we were put off by trying an evening meal in the hotel by the fact it was served on low tables, with "comfy" chairs, in the common reception, bar, entrance area. There is no dedicated restaurant room apart from the terrace, where breakfast is served, which in winter is a canopy area. Maybe in summer, or warmer weather, that would be much more enticing, especially with the view.|- our room had an ensuite toilet / shower room, no bath, and the shower was not fully enclosed, so if one was not careful one ended up with water all over the shower / toilet room floor area. The water temperature seemed to randlomly get extremely hot and cool.|- the partitioning walls in part of the hotel are not soundproof, so at busy times it could be a bit noisy.|Saying all that though, definitely worth staying, attentive not not overly intrusive staff which is also a bonus.

Lovely hotel with amazing views. Very friendly staff. Room was lovely. Bathroom a bit basic shower wise for the rest of the hotel grandeur. Lack of decoration in the bedroom made it a bit plain when the rest of the hotel is so luxurious but apart from that the breakfast was plentiful and gorgeous. Would love to come back.

This was a luxurious place to stay and enjoy Bastia. Located within the walls of the Citadel with easy access to the must see sights of the city. We had a superior double room with a balcony and had a great view of the harbor and islands off the coast. The room was a comfortable size but the balcony made this the place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I am sure we spent more time in our room because it was so welcoming and a great place to relax after walking all over town. I highly recommend this excellent hotel as the place to stay in Bastia.

Amazing view from our room of the port, which was really big and had all the facilities you'd expect. Convenient for the old town and the sea front, we really enjoyed our stay here.

Very good hotel with a friendly staff at the front desk. I enjoyed the location with beautiful views of the lighthouse(s) protecting the marina - the hotel is perched high up the hill, with an elevator to take you up and down to sea level should you choose not to climb it. Very clean and comfortable. My reason for a 4 star instead of 5 was the breakfast was lousy. Stale croissants, greying salamis, and cheese not in the best condition, and it cost Euro 25. I just recommend not eating there - plenty of places in town.

Yelp
Pretty good hotel, better than I was expecting actually. It's not very easy to find, we got lost and saw several others looking for the hotel as well but everyone in the area is used to pointing you in the right direction. We stayed in a suite which was quite spacious with nice views and several windows, two which were floor length and opened fully. The bed was comfy and the pillows were dense but not as bad as some places we've stayed. Their bathroom leaves a lot to be desired, tiny shower with a too small surround so water gets everywhere. There was water coming out the top of the shower head but it still functioned properly. There's a note above the toilet written in a very rude tone about not wasting towels but when you have to mop up after the shower it's hard not to "waste" them. We didn't get to use the wellness area as it was closed for construction or something like that, the pool was open but in a tiny closed area of a basement so we didn't bother. At night you can also hear music from local bars but it wasn't bothersome to me at all since it's very dull. There's no immediate parking but there is a parking structure near by - motorcyclists beware! The locals will break your blinkers and vandalize your bike if you park in the alleys, like they did to our bike, so you must park in the parking "citadel" - it's a bit shady to walk back on the steep dark staircases but the car park it's self is well lit and seemed secure enough. Other than the weird bathroom/shower we loved our room and the bed was comfy. The breakfast in the morning was good, although the hot foods were cold there was lots of other options.
