A lovely place to stay whilst in Chinon. Excellent pristine room and bathroom. Access to an outside patio obviously loved and well cared for. Breakfast was great too. Locally produced products of the best quality served well and with care. Wine they stock was fabulous as well. Fair price for fine quality. Staff were courteous and friendly. A calm and gentle place to stay.

This hotel in a historic old building was located well in the city center but was nice and quiet. The breakfast was one of the best we had in France. Croissants, bread, jams, cheese and the patio seating was great. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the building itself was a treat to wonder around in. The staff were polite and attentive.

We had a lovely two-night stay at Hotel Diderot. The building, garden and terrace are stunning. Inside is a little creaky as others have said but so full of character. Our room had beautiful old furniture and a view across the courtyard. Comfortable bed though, and we were glad of the fan - nicer than aircon and more than enough to keep us cool. We also had a spotless modern bathroom. We had bikes with us so were very happy about the secure parking - we parked the car in a nearby street and chained the bikes up in the courtyard. The location is excellent - on a quiet street just a short walk from the town centre. The staff are lovely - they speak great English and have good advice about the surrounding area. Overall, a lovely hotel we would highly recommend.

Don’t. Just don’t book here if you want a comfortable stay. Nice couple owns this …but it’s outdated and not a comfortable sleep. Pillow are crappy u comfortable, bed okay and the room smells. Was trying to decide if the smell was pot smoked in room - a pesticide sprayed or just moldy mildew smell in there.||||I was on a Rick Steve’s tour there so did not pick it his hotel - but would not go there on my own, and will critique it in my your review. There had to be a nicer place in town. They need to up there game - people on vacation want a comfortable smell free room

I highly recommend staying here, this charming little hotel was a highlight on my trip. We paid for the car to stay on the property and walked all around town. The breakfast is a must, everything was delicious but the bread and marmalades have a special place in my heart. I didn't want to leave. The town is a calm and wonderful place to relax and enjoy the views. It's a walkable distance from the Forteresse Royale de Chinon.

Wonderful characterful old hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice spacious room although we were at the back of the building, so no view to speak of. Storage for our bike was nice and secure. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Gorgeous hotel. It's in the town but feels like it's in the country. Oozes history and class and comes with a warm welcome. Recommended.

We had an amazing stay here a couple weeks ago. It's rustic but in the best way. It's situated perfectly for walking into town. The staff were incredible and we enjoyed meeting the owner after being online friends for years. We got lots of suggestions on where to visit and eat from the team as well... All of which were excellent suggestions. The bar has delicious small plates and outstanding wines from the area. Breakfast was delicious with fresh breads, fresh jam, delicious coffee and an outstanding pork rillette and fresh fruit. Chinon is a beautiful town and we can't wait to return. We'll definitely stay here when we do go back.
