HOTEL DIDEROT

What a beautiful, characterful hotel. Full of history and quirky little details. Our room overlooked the hotel terrace and garden and was immaculately clean. The king sized bed was comfortable and additional pillows and blankets were available. The bathroom and toilet were separate but both modern and spotlessly clean with plenty of towels. Excellent shower! Breakfast was lovely with a fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, fresh apple juice, fresh bread and croissants and a range of delicious jams and marmalade. Service was exceptional- personal and attentive. The location is spot on with a 10 minute walk into town and car parking on site for 4 euros per night. Perfect stay.

This is my favorite hotel in the Loire Valley. Besides fabulous location, the rooms and bathrooms are updated and incredibly clean (which you don't always find in a historic hotel!). The breakfast is simple but ample and features all local foods. The jam is all made in-house and there are some very exquisite varieties. I enjoyed drinking the local wines in their very cozy hotel bar.

This was my 2nd visit to the hotel (April 2023 being the first). This is one of my favorite hotels in France. Location is perfect - with great restaurants within walking distance and its situation in the Loire is perfect for car daytrips to Chateaux.|It got cold my week there, and the room was toasty warm and the heated towel rack was a great bonus after a shower!|The breakfast of homemade jams, fresh breads and local cheese is just right.|After staying in many historic hotels in France, I can say without a doubt that the Hotel Diderot is the cleanest and most comfortable I have experienced.

We had a fantastic visit to Chinon and Hotel Diderot. Our room was updated and spotless. A few highlights: The breakfast cheeses, homemade jams, yogurts and breads were a perfect start to the day. The Christmas decorations in the nearby Chataeu were a highlight of visiting in December.

We stayed in this delightful hotel while cycling the Loire-a-Velo. An grand old building very tastefully restored. Rooms were very comfortable and quiet and our host was most welcoming. No restaurant but it's a short walk into the centre of town with many options. Good breakfast. Bikes were stored outside but with covers and the main gate was securely locked at night so they were safe.

This hotel is located in a central Chinon but in a quiet area. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast includes lovely bread and various kinds of home made jams. We were so lucky to have found the last room when we booked a few days before.

What a lovely family-run hotel, at the heart of Chinon! The staff were kind and helpful and the room was clean and quiet. The courtyard is absolutely stunning with beautiful plants and flowers everywhere and it feels cosy and and warm. Many thanks and we will definitely coming back when we visit again.
