Hotel Diplomat

Located right behind the iconic Taj Hotel, this hotel offers a decent stay for anyone looking to stay in South Mumbai for a day or two at an affordable cost. However, there are some issues which one needs to be aware of - 1. There are no parking facilities of the hotel, and since the location is in a congested lane, if you have a car, you will have to be lucky to find a decent parking spot, 2. The entrance to the hotel is also not very prominent. If you miss it, then - given the one-way lane - you will have to make another turn before coming to the gate. The landmark is opposite the Starbucks (of Taj), 3. The reception and the path to the rooms is extremely narrow. Hence, expect it to be a bit crowded during peak seasons. That all being said, the rooms are decent with all the usual amenities. The sheets, towels etc. were clean. The service was also okay and I did not observe any issues. The food quality is good, not top-of -the-line, but definitely not something to worry about. I would say, if you have some work in SoBo for a day or two, and you are traveling solo, or as a couple, you can definitely stay here as it is very close to Nariman Point and that neighborhood.

Stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Diplomat with family...very good hotel with great service from all the staff..location is very good just walkable distance from gateway of India and behind the iconic Tajmahal hotel. Unfortunately during our stay renovations were going on on one side so we couldnt enjoy the Taj view, but that didnt hamper our stay. Food service was good..breakfast buffet was enjoyable with a decent choice and tasty. Food to room service was also good and was bought always without any delays, though the biriyani served was a little bit more oily. Causeway shopping, Leopold cafe, Mondegar cafe, Bademiya, Bagdadi restaurant all are just at walkable distance . We really enjoyed our stay and looking forward to stay again if travelling to Mumbai

The rooms at the Luxury Oasis are nothing short of spectacular. Elegantly decorated with modern furnishings and adorned with plush bedding, each room exudes comfort and luxury. The breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape from the private balconies are simply mesmerizing, making it hard to leave the comfort of your room.

The location is just perfect.. Just 5 minutes walk from CSMT station. Good breakfast. They serve lunch,dinner & snacks at room , Well maintained rooms.Pretty clean and well maintained rooms. 5/5 for the washrooms ( has tissue rolls as well). The hotel is at a very prime location as well.

After spending many hours of browsing and reading reviews of hotels in South Mumbai, I booked this hotel. I paid around INR 5.5k per night and was satisfied with overall experience. So I recommend this hotel if you have a similar budget. Pros 1. Location. Popular restaurants like Bagdadi, Bademiya and many good cafes at a walkable distance. Gateway of India also few mins of walk. 2. Clean facilities. Clean room and washroom. Toiletries were provided. 3. Quick check-in and check-out. It took only a few mins to complete the process. Things that can be improved. 1. Smoking allowed in all rooms so the room can smell of cigarettes smoke, as was the case with my room. Housekeeping staff promptly responded but not much they could do apart from spraying room freshner. 2. Mattress not so comfortable. They were too soft to sleep. Some may prefer but certainly not as per our comfort. 3. Breakfast experience. The spread was good enough for the tariff we paid, but the ambience could have been better. Felt like eating in an empty hall.
