Hotel Dischma

A good place to stay at Lugano. Very close to nearby attractions. The elevator is working well and you have nearby parking options. But some improvements have to be done by the management. There were water leaks in the bathroom and the temperature control is not working. The room is very hot at night when the windows are closed and even when heater turned off. Overall, a normal hotel to spend your vacation.

Hotel Dischma was a great place for our short stay! We stayed there for one night only and the interior is a bit dated, but that really gave the hotel some charm. Rooms were really clean and the hotel staff was very friendly and relaxed, they also offered us a coffee when we had to leave early in the morning. So can definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay in Lugano!

Hotel Dischma was a very nice place for a quick stay, especially for the price. It's an old hotel, but that has it's charm. The rooms aren't very luxurious, but they are quite spaceous. Service was great, they offered us a coffee before we left and the staff was friendly. The location is great, just a 5-10 minute walk from the Paradiso railway station and about a 25 minute walk from the Lugano station. There are some nice restaurants nearby and the lake is also close. There's also loads of public transport options nearby.

Cheap & Bad. At the arrival some guys (from Bangladesh?) were chilling in the lounge and one of them told the other to get up and allow me to do the check-in, I felt I was about to be scammed from a street gang. I mean, what did I expect for 65.- CHF a night? Even the Ibis Budget next to it was at 144.- a night, which should have been a warning. If you don't mind a shady, dirty, half-broken rocked-down place, feel free. The bathroom, though, was the horror, not enough light, broken pieces of toilet, power switch broken, and so on. Lots of I guess refugees working there, the owner seems to be that old guy I saw at the reception at some point, I guess he's squeezing out what he can get for retirement. Best thing so far? The elevator, it was clean, not damaged, and relatively new.

Good hotel and an affordable option. The staff was nice and the room was clean. We were also happily surprised that we got a room with a balcony without choosing it. The location was good, close to the lake and train station.

We have stayed one night in this hotel in Lugano and we have loved it. The staff is kind, always there if you need something. It’s located in the city center, really close to the lake. Even if the rooms are a bit old fashioned, they’re really comfortable and spacious. Definitely a good value for money.

One the bright side, although the furniture and decoration is fairly date, the whole hotel is spotless. The beds are also excellent. The breakfast is amazing for a place of that standing (mid-range), with a lot of typical home made dishes. It is also very well located in Paradiso not far from the lake.||The place looks family run and the warmly welcoming will be depending on the member of the family your are dealing with...||We went there for a night stop on our way to Italy and that was very fine.

The room is old but clean. Price is affordable. The location is perfect, steps away from bus stop. Easy to get around. There is also supermarket, bakery and restaurant/bar around the hotel. The lake shore is walking distance too. We walked to Lugano old town everyday.
