Hotel Dischma

A very underrated place, but it is a real budget-friendly hotel with everything essential you really need for a comfortable stay. The furniture is old, yes, but really functional and feasible. No luxury, no image-boosting but superfluous items and decorations. If you really need to stay overnight and have some rest and sleep, this place is ideal. If you look for luxury and image, then pay more and stay in some other hotels.

Room was ok but lacking a table to work. Bathroom had very poor light and a window that puzzlingly, faces the next room balcony! The window is opaque but still people can see you are in there. Hotel and guests were very noisy. Also laundry room, which is right next to a couple of rooms starts working at 7:00 am, so good luck trying to sleep in. I do not recommend this hotel.

Really bad experience, the bed was full of hair and when we went to reception to say so they brought new sheets for us to redo the bed on our own, which was really disgusting. When we checked out the next morning they said there will be no refund as we could have gotten a new room - but clearly after seeing the state of our room and the very old bathroom (plus: next to the window of our bathroom was the balcony of the neighbour room so you do not really feel like you have privacy as there was always someone sitting on this balcony) we did not feel like changing the room but leaving this dirty place. So we lost a lot of money for very poor service.

This was the perfect place to stay while in Lugano Paradiso. The room was comfortable and clean, the balcony was an extra bonus. It's close to everything we wanted to see and do. We would definitely recommend it.

Initially I was charged twice for one night. Paid by paypal and had pay by creditcard at checkin. Was finally refunded after complaining. Not very trustworthy personell. Won’t come back again.

In this expensive city this is one of the low priced Hotels. For people who don’t want to spend to much money and average Room this hotel ist very good. The rooms are clean but everything a little bit old but ok for the price. It is with Bus No. 1 and No.2 accessible and fast in the city. All in all I can recommend this place.

Nice and friendly staff, but unfortunately the room was very dark - opening curtains exposes you to all the neighbors of the opposite building. No view of anything else. There was very strong cleaning liquid left in the wc without actually cleaning it and that was impossible to ventilate out of the room (18sqm small). The teeny-tiny balcony door was accessible only through the bathroom (?!) and it overlooks the patio and a big grey wall. Not great value for the money, unfortunately. The hotel entrance picture shows accurately what to expect.

The hotel is affordable and not to far from old town Lugano. I'd recommend staying here if you're open to walking or spending extra money using public transit. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough that there was no issues. I would equate Hotel Dischma with an upper scale motor lodge. Bottom line: I would stay here again if I return to Lugano. There is a grocery just up the street and a bus station near by.
