Great place to stay in Santo Domingo! Location is great, right at Zona Colonial, walking distance to some interesting sights, food stalls and even the nearby beach. Free and secure parking included. Wifi works great, the hotel and the rooms are clean. Hot shower with good water pressure. Friendly staff. They even have a nice terrace with good views and a small pool. Price is good. Can recommend this place!

Great little hotel in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo. Quick reservations at the front desk, ATM inside, rooftop balcony with pool and seating, and the perfect safe location in Santo Domingo.

Don't book here. When I got to the hotel they said the were fully booked. Even though I book in advance. They then sent me to a much worse hotel down the road.

Stay away from this place. The guys at reception are not to be trusted. I saw them try to overcharge a foreigner who was enquiring about a room. They were making lewd comments about Haitians in general. It has a great location. But just walk a block or 2 and you will find better options.

I stayed in this hotel during my birthday trip to DR last week: Sunday September 8th through Friday September 13th 2024. PROS: **I made friends with several of the front desk staff, they are friendly people. ** The cleaning staff knocked on my door every day to ask if I wanted them to clean my room, they got rid of my trash, I was given toilet paper and a new shower towel. **The air conditioner was amazing plus there was a ceiling fan. **The lady who makes breakfast every morning was also friendly, excellent cook - her name was Odeisy. Breakfast was very affordable: $3 US dollars. **The lounge area on the roof was enjoyable and the view was beautiful. **Electricity at the hotel stopped a few times but the generator kicked electricity back up within a few seconds. **There is an ATM machine in the lobby so I had access to money all the time instead of walking outside with US dollars to go to a bank to exchange it to Dominican currency. *I felt safe being within my own people, I saw a lot of policemen on the corners as I was walking. CONS: **My room had 2 windows, I was not able to open either one of them. **The rooftop pool was small. **Sometimes Wi-Fi service wasn't steady or fast. **The street where the hotel is on is a very busy street, there was a lot of traffic especially early in the morning. **No traffic light on many streets to help me cross the street, sometimes waiting for no cars nearby before I crossed took a while. Would I go back to the same hotel? Absolutely!!! The hotel isn't fancy at all which is not what I was looking for, I was comfortable and it's affordable so I truly enjoyed my time here - short stay but fun!! See you in 2025, Hotel Discovery!

Central location to go everywhere, we had a room with inner view, no street facing, which made it very quiet. We had a cold water dispenser just outside the room which was very useful and convenient. A/C worked very good, there's also a ceiling fan which was more than enough to cool the room down, so we did not see the need to use the A/C. Sunset view from the terrace was simply amazing, you can just get your own drink and sit peacefully there. We paid with debit card, ask for the amount to be taken in either DOP or USD as per your convenience. Do not pay in USD cash, they would change it to DOP to their convenience.

Had to rooms 4 people no breakfast no hot water in rooms The staff was nice. We was put into this hotel because our other hotel had people stay over because they could not get on a plane to go home because of weather problem it was just to help out them that we stayed in this hotel. Otherwise it's not for us.

There were lights in the room but none of them worked. There was a no smoking sign in the room, but it still smelled terrible. After traveling around the country for a few days I had become accustomed to phenomenal customer service this was not the case at hotel discovery. I told the person at the desk that there was no light in my room and she seemed to completely dismiss me. In the end I left my stuff there and stayed in an apartment that was periodically flooded and the toilet didn’t work, which felt like a massive step up from hotel discovery
