Spent a few days in Louisville on the way back to Michigan and stayed at the Hotel Distil, which is a great spot to stay in a really cool town. Right on Whiskey Row, it's in an amazing location. The staff were great; very courteous, professional and helpful from the valet to front desk to housekeeping. ||Overall, the hotel was very clean and hip. Our room was very cool, with a good view of Whiskey Row, and served us well. The overall vibe is retro chic, matching the bourbon soaked history of the region. ||The hotel restaurant and bar, called Repeal, was very nice. I'll review Repeal in more detail separately, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the bar. The bar team (Mason, Clayton, Alyssa and Cassie) were fantastic. We had breakfast our first morning and it was very nice with great service. We tried to do so again the next morning but were rudely told by the hostess that her empty restaurant (at 8 am on a Wednesday) was booked and since we didn't have a reservation we'd have to wait 30-40 minutes. We had a free breakfast from our hotel but didn't use it due to the rude hostess and her "reservations". Reflected poorly on the hotel, but didn't ruin our overall trip.||The hotel is five stars but I'd drop it to 4.5 if I could due to the restaurant. We'll be back to the Hotel Distil and would highly recommend it. Just don't try and eat breakfast...
