Hotel Dom

For a simple, clean hotel in a small city, this hotel is excellent value. It's centrally located, easy walk to the cathedral, shops, cafes and the main train station. There is a bus stop within 5 minutes walk also. The room was spacious and had good A/C for the summer weather. A small shared kitchenette room has the basics. The bed was comfortable and the room noise-free.

Lovely hotel right in the heart of Sankt Gallen, on walking distance of both the beautiful cloister/cathedral/library and the city center with nice shops and boutiques. Very friendly staff, modern rooms, each with a specific name, dedicated to the painting inside. Free fruit & tea for all the guests. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommended when in Sankt Gallen.

My husband and I spend six nights at the Dom. Clean, modern room. Friendly and helpful staff - for example, we didn't have the right plug adaptor and they had a box of adaptors to borrow from. The hotel has a car park but if full there are also others nearby. Continental breakfast only, but lots of it. There are restaurants all around the town so we had no problem finding good meals every night. We found St Gallen a great town from which to explore this area of Switzerland.

This hotel is modern and well located in the old town close to the cathedral and library. The higher category room has air conditioning which was a relief in summer. Tea facilities are communal on the 1st floor. |Some room for improvement. Firstly there are day curtains and electric metal shades. However neither is blackout and the light will wake you up early. I suggest they add a blackout lining to the curtain so you can actually sleep past sunrise. Secondly the pillows are very flat and only 1 is provided per person. I suggest to give 2 pillows for each person. Thirdly on the second day I came back after sightseeing I found a dirty bath mat hanging on top of the bath towels. It had hair and stains on it. Either it was the one from the floor I used the night before or it was a new one that wasn't properly washed. I asked for fresh towels and tried to explain it to the front desk but they couldn't understand. Maybe it was a one off thing but it was quite a shock.|So apart from a few flaws the hotel is quite well priced by Swiss standards and well located.

Modern design hotel located in city center. Good breakfast and nice staff :) Perfect for sightseeing and conference( close to Einstein Congress). You can find here some art( rooms and corridors). Good to point out is, that hotel has positive social impact( help people with disabilities). It was nice stay with you :) Love St Gallen.

We were upgraded to a room on the top floor with a great view. The room itself was large and full of light from 3 skylights (1 in the bathroom and 2 in the bedroom). The bathroom was spacious as well, and the shower had good water pressure and hot water, and plenty of space to put your toiletries. Good breakfast buffet included. Location was very convenient with lots of restaurants nearby and a short walk to the Abbey and the train station. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The hotel sits on a quiet street in the old town of St. Gallen. The facility was spotless, the staff was pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was a perfect start to our days. We were close to everything, too! They offer free coffee and tea and a quiet room to sit in the afternoon. The icing on the cake is the beautiful art in the hallways! Thank you!

The hotel is very well-situated in the centre of St Gallen and is convenient to the heritage sites.|The rooms are a little small but adequate for a single guest on a short stay. They are well-maintained and well-equiped.|The staff were at all times courteous and helpful, particularly as British Airways took two days to deliver my luggage.

So far not impressed. I spend over 100 nights a year in hotels and this by far is the most disappointing for the amount spent. No Fitness Room, no air conditioning, very few electrical outlets, one elevator that is extremely slow, etc.... Will definitely not recommend or stay here again.

From the outside, Hotel Dom doesn't impress. It looks just like any other building. However, when I walked inside my room I was surprised by the bright clean white décor with touches of bright colour. There was also a very large terrace that my room opened on too. The entire building is simple, yet fresh, and the service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was included in the cost of our room, and was a good selection of cold items. The tea selection was impressive and fantastic. There is no wifi in the hotel, but they do have a computer in the reception area that you can log into if you need to check any email for free. There was also a nice break room with tables and a mini bar that you could relax in, and self purchase snacks or drinks from. The bed was comfortable, and for an extra fee they welcomed my dog. Lovely hotel very centrally located in the old town of St. Gallen and just steps from the cathedral complex. It was also very quiet, which is a bonus.
