Located in the heart of the city, the hotel feels timeless. The staff treat you like family. There is so much history down every hall I love the art and suit of armor. If you want to immerse yourself in the culture of Spain this is a great place to stay.

An experience I definitely don’t want to remember of repeat. Everything in this place remembers few generations back and it is not a compliment. Smell of old cellar and cigarets, rooms and facilities aged and used, lots of noise late in the night on Monday from some place / bar downstairs in the neighbor building, I didn’t see the place while walking around but I sure heard it later while trying to fall asleep. Once they stopped a Dripping toilet keeps you up at night. It should be called a shelter or a motel, because it is not a hotel.

Excellent service. The owner was very kind, always asking if I needed something. Rebeca at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Raquel was also very nice, she was working in the evening. The hotel has an incredible decoration, that makes it very cozy. It has elevators and good free wi-fi Excellent location to the heart of Avilés old town. The hotel serves breakfast for an additional fee. Lots of restaurants and coffee places all over Avilés.

Yes, all has been said about it’s charms and I liked my stay too. The staff are lovely. My room needed a little more dusting & hoovering. There are baths with shower heads which is nice. My room was big enough for a sofa. |My comments refer to the breakfast as they don’t have a restaurant. The meats and cheese at breakfast were disappointingly of cheap quality and cheese individually wrapped in plastic as were the cakes. Orange juice was concentrated. It would have been nice to have had better quality food considering the interior decor gave the impression of quality. |I was recommended a place to eat nearby for lunch and Rebecca was very attentive to my needs. The hotel is close to the railway and bus station, about an 8 minute walk and close to the old town and shops.

Right in heart of old town with really beautiful streets and architecture. Hotel is very unique. The staff are very friendly, spoke good english and make you feel at home. Good wine. Good coffee. Really good bed. Clean rooms. Great cafes and bars close by. I love the town and the hotel was awesome.||

I feel a bit conflicted about this hotel and want to give it a fair review. I arrived fresh from a 25 km walk on the Camino de Santiago in pouring rain and was absolutely drenched and pretty tired as well. Although I was the only person checking in when I arrived it took at least 15 minutes. The staff person wanted to be very helpful but unfortunately she was too helpful and to too many people. Firstly, she had a long telephone conversation with a guest about what food they could get, then she entered my details and insisted on showing me two rooms to choose from, then she had a conversation with a new arrival who was asking about a room and then she wanted to show me another room even though I had said that I was happy with what she had already shown me. It was painful as I stood there in an ever expanding puddle wanting nothing more than to get into a room and dry off. ||||The hotel is much nicer inside than it appears from the outside. My room looked new or at least newly renovated with stone external walls and wooden floor and ceiling. Natural light came from a skylight. A window would have been nicer but I was happy to accept the room to get on with drying off. It had a double bed, small desk and chair and a closet. It was a bit cramped but fine for one night. The bathroom was small but had a surprisingly spacious shower. The wifi signal was very good. I had to ask for the control for the a/c unit which was kept at the reception desk but once that was in hand the unit worked well. There were only 2 rooms on my section of the top floor and I think that the other was empty. It was very quiet even though I was at the front of the building. The bar opened at 7.30am which is perfect for peregrinos who like to be up and out early to get on with the day’s walk.||||The Don Pedro is a nice hotel and was fine for a one night stay once I actually got checked in. I would return but perhaps not if I was eager to get to my room in a hurry.

All three previous comments really sum the hotel up so not not much more to add but just want to add to the number of good reviews. And, yes, Rebecca is really friendly, smiley. helpful and fun to be around. Don't be put off by the entry 'coffee shop only' entry leading to the reception. My wife and I stayed in both *** hotels and Don Pedro definitely the better. Would recommend staying there.

Great place to stay. Very comfortable room with bathroom, wardrobe, TV and small fridge. Towels are included. Professional check in service. Highly recommended 👌
