The owner blocks people on Whatsapp when they have a simple question. He is not suitable for this work then in my opinion. So don't go here, the owner is horrible.

No frills room, a bit dated had hot water and good breakfast. Good for an overnight stay. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel look elsewhere, if you need a decent place to sleep overnight a hot shower and good breakfast by all means stay here. It’s centrally located

Don't go here, the owner Marc does not have time for guests. And he even blocks guests on whatsapp when they have short important questions. Owners who block guests are not kind and they are not suitable for this work.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and it was quiet and private. very nice rooms walking distance from many restaurants and shopping.

My stay fell far below expectations. The room was in desperate need of maintenance, with a leaking air conditioner that required a bucket to catch the water. There was no hot water, and the bedsheets were dirty and stained. Additionally, the room was missing basic essentials like towels and toilet paper, and the lightbulb had to be replaced during my stay. I would not recommend this hotel. The only positive aspect was its location, as it’s within walking distance of many restaurants.

Hotel Dona Elvira was recommended to my family who planned an overnight trip to see the sights of Santo Domingo’s colonial zone. This hotel did not disappoint. Aesthetically, it’s gorgeously historic. Its common area is open-air, covered and cooled by a magnificent mango tree with a pool in the middle (I’m not sure if the pool is meant for swimming, though it is clean and clear). Our room was large, very clean, air-conditioned, and well stocked with toiletries, towels, etc. Great, filling breakfast options are included in the room rate with a supper menu offered as well (not included in the rate). I found the staff to be VERY friendly, helpful, and accommodated some small changes to one of our room reservations without hesitation. We had a light, casual conversation with the owner during which he touched on the hotel’s history. I really do wish I could have spent more time in S.D. and taken in more of this quaint little boutique gem of a hotel.

The worst! Don't go to this hotel. They don't respect people's money or time. After getting my room and pay for the stay. 2 or 3 hours later I was informed that the room they gave me was somebody else's room.

The hotel pool area right outside the room was very noisy starting at about 8 am each day. You could hear people talking as if they were inside your room. In addition, they started construction i.e., drilling and hammering during the same hours. They charge a fee per guest you bring into the room. They told me when I booked that all rooms had a safe in them. My room did not have a safe. Every night, the night shift employee walked around without wearing any shoes or socks. The hotel coffee was always lukewarm. They gave one towel daily. I mean ONE.
