Quaint little hotel within walking distance of the centre. The rooms though small are more than adequate. All rooms have Aircon. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The town itself is stunningly beautiful and clean. Bright houses line the main streets. A gem off the beaten track.

As individual travelers we stayed 1 night in room 6. The room was located on the first floor, with one king bed. ||Pros||- in the village of Tlacotalpan, only 5 minutes on foot from the square and harbour ||- very friendly ladies at the reception for check-in and check-out, always a big smile!||- enough parking facilities for our car in front of the door ||- good king size bed||- a quiet location and a quiet room, we have slept very well. ||- a very price worthy room||- good free wifi and an airco (we haven’t used it, because it was rather cold)||- no breakfast, but free coffee before you leave. It was no problem to find a good restaurant for breakfast (and dinner) in the small center of the village. We can advise to go to restaurant Dõna Lala. A nice comfortable place with good food and service. ||||Some (small) cons||- Noting to mention, only the weather! It was rather cloudy, windy and cold on Februari 3th. ||Summarized, a pleasant small, cheap, local hotel with a good price-quality ratio in a very nice small village with UNESCO qualification. We would stay again in this small hotel

It has the basic, but still the place is great, clean and affordable. People warm, bathroom clean with hot water. I liked staying here since we were looking for a nice place to stay at night. You can get to downtown by walk and the street is dark but safe.

We came to Tlacotalpan for the Candelaria festival (highly recommended) and this was the only place where we could get rooms. The welcome from the owners was friendly but language was an issue. Very little English is spoken. ||||Rooms were clean, but small, dark and basic. Not a room I would want to spend much time in. The hotel does have sitting areas though.||||Nothing special, but acceptable as a budget guesthouse.

One of my two friends fell sick the night we arrived in Tlacotalpan and lodged at Hotel Reforma near the Plaza and pedestrian area. The healthy two of us decided to stay an extra night, but to find a more comfortable place for him (and us) to stay during his recovery. After checking 6-8 other options near the heart of town, we were delighted to find that the most affordable one was quiet, and was possibly the cleanest, most warmly-appointed room I've stayed in across Mexico...and I've spent more than a year of my life travelling in Mexico. The room was postmodernly (!) furnished, had good wifi, nice lamps, comfy beds, and a flat-screen tv. We slept the best of our 15 nights on this trip there, because it is such a quiet, arcaded residential part of town, and the watchman out front kept everything quiet and watched our car out front. I couldn't believe the cleanest place in Mexico was the cheapest in town (yet 2-3 blocks to cafes on the main plaza), and I would strongly recommend it to any traveler, particularly those with, er, foreign standards. ;-]= PS I never met the owner and have no relationship to this inn; we simply loved it!

The Dona Juana (not to be confused with the Don Diego or Dona Lala) is an excellent choice in Tlacotalpan (or Tlackers to its friends). The staff and management are friendly and efficient and the room was spotless. Morning coffee but no breakfast; this requires a short walk into town. It lies in a swampy area so there are some mosquitoes, but the problem is relieved by a council worker spraying the town centre in the evenings.||||Tlacotalpan is a sleepy, lazy former port that time forgot until it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there are still very few tourists on weekdays. There are fairly frequent buses from Veracruz and it's also possible to go in the other direction to San Andres Tuxtla.
