Hotel Dona Sofia

Brilliant city. Great hotel. Lovely welcome, great location right in the city, room was large, comfortable and very clean. Nice breakfast. Wonderful 70s architecture and styling - PLEASE NEVER CHANGE IT!!!

Excellent location. Very clean and comfortable. Bed was ok despite plastic mattress cover which made us too hot. No tea tray in room but this was provided at a cost of €5 per day reducing in price after two days. Walking distance to most sites. Breakfast room was very bright and inviting with tablecloths and linen napkins. Small continental breakfast choices. Most staff friendly and helpful although the old lady on reception often had to call for Beatrice to assist with simple tasks.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable Perfect location Hotel staff were very kind and helpful especially since we only speak English Breakfast was basic but always fresh Only slight drawback was the fact that noise during the night was a bit loud outside over the weekend Will definitely go back if I visit Braga again

Nice Hotel placed right in the historic centre. Great staff are always happy to help you out with your needs. Very good breakfast. Rooms are a bit small (at least the one we got) but very clean and functional.

Another review of this hotel said if you want 5 star then pay for it. This hotel is incredibly good value. It's basic, but clean, good size rooms, the beds are very comfy with a choice of cushion. But the best thing about the hotel is the location. It's right by the Cathedral and a very short walk from all the main sights, restaurants and areas you would want to visit. There is free parking available which is rare in this small city and we were lucky enough to get one of the 5 spots. But there is lots of parking available around nearby which is not too expensive and this hotel has deal with the cat park in the liberty shopping centre for 10E for 24 hours, where you can go in and out s much as you want (go to the car park desk when you arrive to get it set up). The breakfast is good, shame there is no kettle on the room. The staff are so friendly and helpful and despite this not being a luxurious hotel and it is a bit dated, I couldn't recommend it highly enough for a short stay.

A small boutique hotel. Centrally located, yet without street noise. A front desk staff spoke excellent English, and was very helpful with sights and transportation info. The included breakfast was served at 07:00, great for an early riser. Excellent with plenty of choices, including scrambled eggs. My room was rather small, and the bathroom was tiny. The rooms need an renovation to bring them up to date.|

What an amazing location and Staff. The rooms are spacious and you feel very safe . The only issues could be the thins walls if noisy neighbors and the mattresses are older. From the third floor room, we had an amazing city view and one of Bom Jesus!! The proximity to EVERYTHING sells the Hotel Dona Sofia...once you get your bearings straight,you realize you are with a 10 minute walk of every major attraction. Parking is very limited and will not be available at check in, so they have an arrangement with an underground parking garage only 200 meters away for 10€ per day with 24 hours in and out availability. This is sure better than trying to find a street spot, constantly feeding the meter, AND worrying about the vehicle!!! 5 Stars for Hotel Dona Sofia, we will return!!!

The hotel is very well located, close to all the main tourist attractions in Braga. The hotel is pet friendly, they charge a fixed fee for the pet's accommodation and tidy up the place with a bed, water pots and food. Hotel staff are very friendly and help with everything you need. The breakfast is quite good, anything special. The rooms are good, warm and clean. The soundproofing is not the best but it didn't bother me. I strongly recommend!
