Hotel Dos Mundos

Stay away! Hotel looks nice from outside, but this is where it ends. The only place in a whole Panajachel with untisemitic signs near entrance and front desk. Rooms are dirty, sealing is covered with mold. Breakfast is very limited.

Great hotel if you’re wanting to be in the heart of the city! You are literally off of the Main Street with all the artisan shops- but it still feels secluded enough to have some privacy. This hotel comes with free parking for your stay which is great. It’s about a 10 min drive away from the Cables Extremos and a 5 min walk to the main dock area where you can reserve a boat to take you to the other cities off the lake. Be aware that there is no AC in the rooms- it’s fine at night but gets a little stuffy in the day time. The rooms are clean and spacious. And the food on the restaurant is yum! I would for sure come back!

We stayed two nights here and they were very peaceful nights with no noise. Just off Main Street but 1 minute walk to many eating places. There was hot water in shower which worked well. The breakfast choices weren’t great either eggs and beans or toast and small fruit salad. Pool looked great although I didn’t go in. Staff friendly and polite.

Rude staff that got angry over simple requests like packing up breakfast for a child that was feeling ill. They also charged us $32 for some makeup on a towel which has always washed off easily at home.

There were ants on our nightstand in between the beds. Plus it was raining and there was a leak in the roof of the room we had to put a towel down.

I’m not sure I understand the complaints. Everybody seems fairly pleasant from the front desk to the excellent Italian restaurant staff. It’s a lovely setting. The pool was beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. This is a slice of luxury in the middle of a fairly budget minded town and it’s a great location.The only issue is the hot water in the shower is almost notexistent. and one more thing, the Italian restaurant on site is superb. I was blown away at the quality of my fettuccine with Bolognese sauce. It was as good as anything in a fine dining Italian restaurant in the United States.

Wonderful hotel in a great location to access the lake, restaurants, and shopping. The rooms are first class. Very neat, clean and comfortable. The courtyard is a lovely place to hang out for a rest. Staff is great. The one morning we ate breakfast in the hotel dining room we found the service was somewhat limited. Highly recommend.

I definitely do not recommend it. Everything in the hotel is based on money. They charge for hot water. The hotel location is very nice, the pool is dirty and cannot be used.Room cleaning is superficial, sheets are not changed, they are changed upon request in 3 days.
