We stayed two nights here and they were very peaceful nights with no noise. Just off Main Street but 1 minute walk to many eating places. There was hot water in shower which worked well. The breakfast choices weren’t great either eggs and beans or toast and small fruit salad. Pool looked great although I didn’t go in. Staff friendly and polite.

I’m not sure I understand the complaints. Everybody seems fairly pleasant from the front desk to the excellent Italian restaurant staff. It’s a lovely setting. The pool was beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. This is a slice of luxury in the middle of a fairly budget minded town and it’s a great location. The only issue is the hot water in the shower is almost notexistent. and one more thing, the Italian restaurant on site is superb. I was blown away at the quality of my fettuccine with Bolognese sauce. It was as good as anything in a fine dining Italian restaurant in the United States.

I definitely do not recommend it. Everything in the hotel is based on money. They charge for hot water. The hotel location is very nice, the pool is dirty and cannot be used.Room cleaning is superficial, sheets are not changed, they are changed upon request in 3 days.

I have been to Panajachel about 35 times and I generally stay at Dos Mundos due to location, comfortable rooms, and good food. I have stayed there twice in the last month alone. This past stay had two unpleasant items. 1) The cleaning staff was so loud cleaning the adjacent rooms in the morning, they kept me awake. One staff member seemed to have a loud child with her. 2) When I was leaving I asked the guy in the restaurant for a cup of ice (I had my own plastic glass). His response was they don't give away ice, they sell it. I would not avoid the place over these two items, but the manager/owner should be on top of this. On another note, the past visit there I had a memorable meal at their restaurant with great pasta, wine and service.

Wonderful hotel in a great location to access the lake, restaurants, and shopping. The rooms are first class. Very neat, clean and comfortable. The courtyard is a lovely place to hang out for a rest. Staff is great. The one morning we ate breakfast in the hotel dining room we found the service was somewhat limited. Highly recommend.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, which looks beautiful, but we ate at the restaurant. The food was delicious. We had the ravioli followed by cheesecake for dessert. Highly recommend for quality service and great food. Hidden Gem!

I stayed at several places in Panajachel, and Dos Mundos was at the top of the list. I enjoyed the facilities and location it was near the lake and Calle Santander, which is the busiest street in the town. Although it was in the center of the town, it was quite quiet, and I had a wonderful sleep. Not to mention the food at the restaurant was great, the best authentic Italian food in town.

Great location and great area.. Garden, small pool, quiet... Now rooms could be renewed. Especially beds that are too hard.. Finally breakfast is not good... Too little quantity and very limited. And not very good . Also had to 'negotiate' to get a third cup of coffee.. Only two were included!! So good hotel for a short stop in the area
