After a conversation via email I chose a double room to have a view of the river from my balcony. It was perfect. I don’t require much…a comfortable bed (colourful decor matched with dark Portuguese furniture), there was aircon but I preferred to open the door and felt perfectly safe doing so. It wasn’t hot when I was there. A simple but plentiful breakfast of cold cuts, bread and cheese. Located opposite the train station and within walking distance of wine tours, river tours and restaurants. Some lovely hikes into the hills as well. Muito obrigado a Pedro e Luis por me ajudarem a levar a bagagem até à estação de comboios

Stayed for 2 nights in June 2024. Pedro was very nice to share recommendations for walking and eating. The room was clean, had AC and while small was good. The location is directly across from the train station. Several places to eat if you’re not going to a winery for dinner. Simple breakfast. Outdoor rooftop area for a view up the river - buy a bottle during a winery visit and enjoy with the superb view. Quiet, calm. Great hosts, helpful, friendly. Great value. Recommended

A great place for a couple of nights in Pinhao. The family makes you feel welcome and special. Momma made breakfast which was great. Her homemade pumpkin spice jam was amazing. I wish I could bring a bottle home. Views from the front rooms are amazing. Everything is an easy walk, not like some of the places up the hill, even though they may be nice. If staying in Porto this would be a fantastic place to stay on an overnight trip. Take the train up. Book a winery tour and a boat tour. Stay here and back to Porto the next day. So far this has been the highlight of my trip.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. They are small and if you are big or claustrophobic, you may have an issue with thr shower. Staff was very attentive and breakfast was good and priced like the room very well.

This place turns out to be one of our favorite little hotels in the whole world. Small, family run hotel, not fancy but wonderfully original, clean, run by the kindest staff ever. Luiz and Peter were incredibly helpful regarding travel in the area, and Mama made us a wonderful breakfast. Don't bother trying to book online, do it the old-fashioned way, by phone or email. You won't be sorry.

In many years of visiting Portugal I can honestly say that this is one of the best places I have ever stayed in throughout the country. Family run by Pedro, Louis and their mum, it's highly personalised and informal, They put such a lot into making sure guests are looked after but with no fuss or even paperwork! The location, ambience and the view from my room were lovely and it's nice to be treated as an individual. Advice on where to eat and visit were provided in abundance.|I could say the value for money here is key in an area where fancy wine lodges charge the earth. But it's the whole package, including mum's pumpkin jam at breakfast. Thanks Pedro and all for your lovely service despite budget prices, in a beautiful little spot.
