We stayed here for one night whilst touring. Overall, the hotel felt as though it was slightly living on its former glories. Our room was on the ground floor, overlooking the garden. It was reasonably spacious, and the bed was comfortable and clean. The wooden furniture was of high quality, but the decor, overall, looked slightly tired. The bathroom was open to the bedroom, with a huge window between the bathroom and bed. The bathroom was well equipped with a double sink, wrapped soap, etc. When showering, it was obvious that the window had not been cleaned for some time, as the steam revealed a selection of graffiti from previous occupants. The wall outside our room was covered in bad paintings, which were for sale, mainly with a beach theme. The large garden at the back was full of mature trees, many of which look as though they need some care. Breakfast was very good, and the reception and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The car park is extensive and immaculate: possibly the best hotel car park I've ever seen :) The hotel does not have a restaurant. Location was good provided you have a car: close to La Rochelle and to Lagord, where there are a couple of decent restaurants.
