"Evolution is at the heart of this small retreat in the hills above Antibes. First came the restaurant, next a small hotel to accommodate those who didn’t want to leave, and finally a bistro, just to ensure you were well fed. It’s a tale of 3 locations, the restaurant sitting next to the church, the bistro in the market place and the hotel basking on the edge of the village. A 5-minute stroll connects them, and those who come find beautiful interiors, excellent service and super value for money. The hotel itself - a renovated 17th-century farmhouse and adjacent converted bergerie - come in an elegant contemporary French style. You get olive trees scattered across sweeping lawns, a shaded terrace for breakfast and sundowners, a boules pitch tucked away in one corner, and sunloungers circling the pool. Uncluttered rooms are warmly chic. All have a sense of calm, fancy bathrooms, beautiful linen and excellent beds. Some guests linger, others head off to explore. The pretty market towns of Biot and Valbonne are on your doorstep. Nice, Antibes and Cannes are close. Highs A truly exceptional hill-top restaurant and retreat, and it shows in every detail Service is a cut above, and the smiles are genuine; chatting to - and laughing with - the staff over dinner during our last visit was a real highlight Bedrooms are wonderfully quaint with very good prices for the Côte d’Azur A lovely leafy garden, complete with a small pool for hot afternoons This is a good central base from which to explore the area Lows The owners have changed since we last visited and we've had some mixed feedback since then The restaurant and bistro are closed at certain times of the week Breakfast is extra, though it is exceptional One or 2 of the bedrooms only have a curtain between the bed and toilet, but it is a very thick one! "Le Rouret is out of the way, by Provençal standards, which makes the Hôtel du Clos all the more restorative an escape. Rooms are divided between a classic stone farmhouse and the farm’s old sheepfold; both are stylish and contemporary but with plenty of timeless farmhouse atmosphere. The grounds are idyllic, with groves of olive and fruit trees surrounding a charming little pool. Having spent five glorious days very recently at Hotel du Clos I'd like to express how exquisite we found the hotel; the room we were in; its views; the location of the hotel and its large garden as well as beautiful secluded swimming pool; the morning al fresco breakfasts and above all how wonderfully warm ( like the weather throughout ) and open each and every member of the Hotel team was to us: especially Annick and Guy - the owners - but not forgetting Eric, Vanessa, Sharryn, Lira and all incuding 'Moustique ! We felt pretty much instantly that we were a really welcome part of the Hotel du Clos and were truly cared about. Hotel du Clos is a wonderful and intimate oasis in the hills of eastern Provence but within only 30-40 minutes or so drive from Cannes; and, what's more, is very handily placed for golf particularly at Chateau de la Begude and Golf Valbonne Opio. There again if you don't much feel like being immersed in the hustle and bustle of Cannes or Nice, the quieter and more tranquil 'perche' villages of Mougins, St Paul de Vence, Tourette sur Loup and so on are all within quick and easy striking distance by car as are of course the less frantic seaside towns of Juan Les Pins, Antibes, Villefranche. We had a wonderful time and fully intend to reprise it in 2026.

Return visit to Hotel du Clos and this time arranged so we arrived mid afternoon to settle in and enjoy a well-earned beer at the pool. Lovely welcome from all the staff. Superb celebration dinner at Le Clos Saint Pierre not to be missed. Relaxed breakfast in the grounds made a great start to our day.

This oasis of calm and culture on my 2000 mile journey around France was probably the best place I stayed as a single traveller - I was made most welcome as a casual drop in guest. Beautiful little hamlet of giîtes type cottages in the serenity of Hotel environment. I was there in the coldest time of year the private cottage was snug and cozy. The outlook was pretty and peaceful within the village outskirts - so sorry it was the wrong season for the pool which , had it been slightly warmer, - I would’ve enjoyed it anyway. The staff & owners are intelligent friendly professionals. it was nice to have the option of speaking English, French or Italian. What a find in rural Provence. Breakfasts served in art filled quirky dining room with garden outlook. - handy place to stay for days or weeks - would very much like to return for longer - in the summer with friends ‘ family .

A very sweet experience in a perfectly located village for day trips along the Riviera. Family-owned and friendly, this hotel has an experienced and accommodating staff. Our suite was comfortable and overlooked the pool. We felt welcomed and pampered by the owners.

This small hotel is really close to perfection. It has rooms located in to buildings the Bastide & the Bergerie. The rooms on the second floor of the Bergerie all have balconies looking out over the really delightful gardens. We had room 6, which was spacious and had lots of character. ||The staff are friendly and even put up with my awful French. Breakfast was served in the garden and was extensive by French standards, with lots of fresh fruit, cheese and interesting bread. ||There is no restaurant, but the hotels owns the very nearby Restaurant Clos du St Pierre, which is a great place for a special meal. A little further way (but still an easy walk), is the Bistro du Clos. I have eaten there many times and they serve well prepared meals at a reasonable price on a pleasant terrace.

This hotel is a gem. The property is a beautiful provincial house with large gardens, a large parking area and quaint rooms. The owners are outstanding and very friendly. As well, the breakfast is typically French and wonderful. The town is centrally located and provides easy access to a multitude of locations. Comfortable, great location and relaxing.

Once again Neilson offer the best value ski holidays anywhere. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and rep team based at the Hotel Del Clos in El Tartar, Andorra. They certainly go the extra mile to ensure that the holiday is a wonderful experience. The hotel was extremely well managed by a friendly staff, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, the food absolutely outstanding and the evening entertainment laid on by Sam and Henry was both well targeted and enjoyable. The company should be very proud of their staff at this excellent hotel. I travelled there with my son for the second year and we will be returning next year. Thank you Neilson for making it so special.
