Hôtel Du Continent

Traveled solo to Paris for the first time and it was a great experience. The hotel is on a small street a short block from the Seine and steps from the high end boutiques on Honore. The hotel is very small with limited services but offers a continental breakfast daily. Not a breakfast person but get it…the croissants and bread was the best I tasted and I ate at a lot of high & low end restaurants. The room could use a little love but it was very clean, bed comfortable, shower was good- water hot and good pressure, wifi was good. The staff is excellent…welcoming and anticipating of my needs. Every morning I was greeted with a smile from each staff member I encountered.||The great….location, staff, cleanliness and price point|The ok….the rooms are a bit worn & dated..also smallish ||Would I recommend Hotel du Continent to my friends and family? ABSOLUTELY!

A very small and friendly hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, clean and tidy in the heart of Paris. |Breakfast was limited and basic but was enough to start the day. |Would highly recommend if you are looking for a short stop over.

We had originally booked a much more expensive, modern hotel in Paris. However, when I found out about the Hotel du Continent, I thought we would give it a try. This beautiful little boutique hotel is located between the Place de Concorde and the Place Vendome near all of the attractions in central Paris. We did not need to pay for a sauna, bar or lots of other hyped amenities, so we found the facilities perfectly acceptable at half the cost of larger hotels. The front desk clerk also serves as the concierge, and he/she offered us helpful advice on the Metro, train travel to Chartres, taxicabs and the airport. Desk clerk Annie is a magician, accomplishing tasks and answering questions we thought were impossible. The edgy decor in each room represents the various continents. The continental breakfast is a deal. We plan to stay here on our future visits to Paris and highly recommend recommend the Hotel du Continent.

Do not ever book this hotel. They rang us hours before our trip to Paris to see the Christmas Markets to cancel our room due to them overbooking. We booked our trip months ago through Expedia. The little girl who rang was extremely rude and couldn’t give a toss that she’d ruined our trip. The only alternative hotel was 40 minute walk away and nowhere near the Christmas markets hence why I booked this particular hotel. If the rudeness of the manager reflects the hotel then I’d stay way clear of ever booking a room here.

We enjoyed our location of this hotel. We were roughly a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Louvre and right across from the Jardin des Tuileres. The staff was friendly and responded to any questions we had. We want to give a very special shout out to hotel staff, Anny. She gave us tips on where to visit and even helped us deciding which transportation options to take. Our room was clean, beautiful interior and a very comfortable bed. Note: The room is very small; this is coming from someone who is used to the typical USA sized hotel rooms. We were so busy out and about, we did not care about the size. We were happy with a clean, safe hotel room that was perfectly situated for our personal needs. Thank you Anny and Hotel du Continent.

An excellent location – within walking distance of many sights and with easy transport links to others. Quite a smart area of Paris – lots of posh shops around (although their potential patrons would probably stay in swankier hotels) – something reflected in the price? Plenty of restaurants in the area, although they did seem to cater largely to the tourist trade.||I had a somewhat poky room near the top of the building (the fifth floor) – sadly, often the fate of the solo traveller. Having said that, it was perfectly serviceable, given that I was out and about most of the time. I was somewhat worried by the fact that there was a single lift with an advertised capacity of two people, but, in practice, that was never a problem.||Breakfast was available, subject to confirming the previous evening. A set (i.e. non-buffet) continental breakfast, which I found more than adequate, and probably a good option given the locality.||The hotel is idiosyncratically decorated (is this what makes a hotel ‘boutique’?), with each floor themed round a different continent. Much of the decoration is derived from historical illustrations and not all of it (e.g. the murals in my Africa-themed room) would really pass a wokeness test. ||A major plus point was that all the staff (on reception, in the breakfast room, etc) were exemplary – friendly, helpful and efficient. A nice touch was a pre-stay emailed ‘survey’ which led to useful advice re transport links, local restaurants, etc.||Would I stay here again? Well, I might look into more competitively priced options, but I would certainly be tempted.

Our stay at the Hotel Du Continent was fantastic! And a big part of that was Anny! Even though busy at the front desk, she always took time to answer questions, make suggestions and help with arrangements. Anny was a big part of what made our stay so delightful! I loved how our room was decorated, and the bed was so comfortable. And, after a week on a riverboat, the roomy shower was wonderful. The hotel is so conveniently located - walking distance or a quick Uber ride to most anywhere in Paris. The service (Anny primarily) and the cost (great value) really made our final days in Paris perfect -- I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

My stay here was a very good decision. It's a small boutique hotel in one of the most desired locations in Paris. I planned to spend most of my days in the city and didn't need a high maintenance room, just a bed and a shower which were both amazing. The single room was small, but it had everything I needed. I'm also a light sleeper and had no trouble sleeping here. Like most boutique hotels the walls are thin and I could hear my neighbors talking in the morning, but I was up by then. This hotel was in close proximity to all of the tourist destinations. I was able to walk everywhere even to the Eiffel Tower (about a 45 minute walk, but could be broken down if visiting other sites along the way) without a cab or Uber. I can't report on the breakfast, but the staff was lovely and everyone who managed the front desk was helpful.

Great staff & service. Everyone we dealt with at the front desk was very friendly and went out of their way to answer any of my questions. The room is a decent size, clean, quiet. I kept the windows open as much as I could. The room was on the 4th floor. So you can hear Paris without being overwhelmed by it. I would definitely go back. The price was very reasonable considering that this place is in the heart of Paris. We walked everywhere from here.

Great hotel, great staff, and free wifi! Plus the hotel is close to everything and I did not need to take the metro because this was in the middle of everything. Traveled solo and highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is in the heart of it all.. Stayed here for the weekend. Small rooms but quiet. If you just want somewhere to sleep then it's perfect. The beds are comfortable and room clean & warm. In walking distant to everywhere. Would stay again.

What this hotel lacks in a view, it makes up for in quality, service, location, and price. Paris is very expensive, but this hotel will not break the bank. It is VERY centrally located, walking distance to the Louvre. The service was excellent and extremely friendly. I had a single room, it was a twin bed. The room was very small, like a former maid's closet, but it had it's own shower, it was chic, clean and comfortable. This place is down a side street and is very quiet, but it is easy to get to and find. Also, check out Le Souffle down the street for dinner.
