Excellent stay at this very lovely, small hotel! Friendly and helpful staff make you feel cared for, while the L’Occitane bath products (complete with bath fizzies!) make you feel a bit pampered. My bed was exceptionally comfortable - lots of down pillows and very soft white sheets set in a large room. The charming courtyard is full of beautiful plants with tables and chairs scattered cozily throughout. I will definitely stay again on my next visit to Paris! Thank you!

Excellent experience! Very friendly and helpful staff and a hotel of a friendly size, which makes it personal and special. The room was great and had everything that I needed and the bed was most comfortable. The room I stayed in had both a bathtub and a shower, which is great as people have different preferences. It is also in a great location. I was very happy with my stay and will definitely return!

As a travel agent and advisor, I have the opportunity to visit many hotels—and Hôtel du Danube truly stands out. Perfectly located near the wonderful shopping and dining of the iconic Saint-Germain area, it’s also tucked just far enough away to feel peaceful and private. Marco, the manager, is exceptionally gracious; the rooms are spotless and full of charm; and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Hands down, it’s the first place I recommend to my clients and friends. I know you won’t be disappointed!

Welcoming staff allowed us to check in early. The room was clean and the bedding was soft and comfortable. Great breakfast served in our room. Front desk printed documents for us at no charge. The hotel is perfectly located in Saint Germain walking distance to the Louvre and all the best shopping the Rive Gauche has to offer. 10 out of 10.

This is my second trip to Hotel du Danube. It is very well located in the heart of Paris and a short metro ride away from Paris Gare du Nord. It is a calm oasis from the bustling streets around the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens and other famous places in Paris. The staff are polite, helpful and kind. I enjoyed my breakfasts in the courtyard before heading off to business. The room was large with a generous ensuite and plenty of hanging space for my suits and shirts. I know that it is a 3* hotel but that doesn't mean that it is average in any way. For example, it may not have a bar but it is next door to one.

Reviews for the past year or so have been uniformly positive, and mostly rated this hotel 5 bubbles. While there's nothing really bad about it, we didn't think it lived up to a 5-bubble review--a low 4 at best, maybe a high 3. We had a junior suite because we wanted a sitting area, and while that gave us adequate space, it was somewhat cramped. We had to move sideways to access the bed on either side, for example. Housekeeping most days was less than thorough. We also thought it showed wear even though somewhere I read it had been renovated in the last few years. Perhaps that referred to the bathroom, which was indeed updated and modern. Also on the positive side, the room had lots of electrical outlets, sufficient for all our devices and appliances. Breakfast was adequate if overpriced--bread, pastry, ham and cheese, boiled eggs, cereal, and yogurt--but you pay for convenience, which we did on two mornings. The most outstanding positive is the location in St. Germain.

The location of the quiet hotel is perfect: close enough to walk to some of the major sites of interest: Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, plus the shops, art galleries and neighbourhood of the Left Bank. Public transport is available nearby if you want to explore further afield by metro or bus. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff (who speak English) so helpful and breakfast was a delicious way to start the day. I wish we could have stayed longer than the 3 nights we were there. Fantastic value for money and thoroughly recommend.

We spent 5 nights at Hotel du Danube and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and responsive to our needs or questions. The breakfast was hearty and served in a lovely room off a courtyard. The Hotel is in the heart of Saint Germain, close to many local cafes and restaurants and historic sites.

Yelp
My stay at Hotel du Danube was short but very sweet! I had the best experience and treated very kindly by the front desk staff. Daniel was beyond friendly and so funny and the gentleman who helped get me a taxi this morning was also very friendly however I failed to get his name, shame on me. There were some pros and cons to my room though. Pros: I was upgraded from a single to a double room upon my check in which was a nice surprise. The room was still small but for a solo traveler who spent all day outside walking, it was perfect. The tv didn't work for me but I had no use for it really. The bed was a little hard but still comfortable while the pillows were super nice and soft. The shower was stocked with toiletries and L'Occitane shampoo + conditioner. Cons: The toilet is in a small room outside of the shower and can feel claustrophobic so since I was alone, I left the door open while using it because it is very and o mean very tiny. The shower was very nice however did not have glass door or shower curtain so I thought that was kind of strange. It has an adjustable shower head so at one point I lost my grip on it and the water went splattering everywhere on the floor because of the lack of door. Also the tub was kind of big so for an elderly person, the may have trouble getting into the shower. Also something to keep in mind is the lift to the hotel floor is a one person lift, like it's very small and unless you're a very skinny person two can fit but again, not for the claustrophobic. There are stairs you can take as well. Also the room card is needed to turn on the lights. They didn't tell me that downstairs so it took me a while to figure out why I couldn't switch on the room lights. Thankfully the hotel supplied me with an extra key so i left one in the light slot and the other with me as I was out exploring. The hotel is centrally located in the Saint Germain area and close to a lot of high end shops, and cafes such as Les deux magot and cafe fiore. I would definitely come back and stay at Hotel Du Danube again.

Yelp
Marco, Jessica, Marie & the rest of the hotel staff were outstanding on our 3 week stay. Their help and recommendations for yours snd sightseeing were excellent. The location on the left bank across from the Louvre was awesome. The cafes and bistros were all excellent. We'll be back!

Yelp
Fabulous! Marco, the Hotel Director, Jessica, Marie, the breakfast & housekeeping staff were all outstanding over our 3 week stay! The optional breakfast in the charming courtyard was always excellent with a wide range of choices. The hotel left bank location is an 8 minute walk to the Louvre with so many great cafes and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. We'll be back! Howard & Susan

Yelp
Great location (short walking distance to Sciences Po, Université Paris Cité, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, and other spots). Metro, RER, and bus accessible. Extremely nice and helpful staff. Everyone I encountered was bilingual in English and French, which was very helpful. My room was clean and nice, if a little worn in spots. Spacious, too, especially for Paris. I believe each room is different, so that might have just been mine. Coffee and bottled water in room. Strong WIFI, easy to log in. Breakfast was not included in my room price, so cannot comment on it. A few cafes nearby, though. Recommend if you need a nice place in a great location.

Yelp
A very strange place! Not all bad but it has its peculiar things. First of all when I stayed here on business it was very quiet. Old building, thick carpets but nice and well done on the decor. Quiet also in the room and it felt like I was the only guest. There is no bar so you have to do with the two bottles of water in the room, which is fine. WiFi works although login and password is a bit clumsy and they still treat access kind of like drug dealing. I slept well although the beds are a bit soft for my taste. Huge bathroom with both shower and separate batch tub and separate loo. Very nice. Breakfast is served downstairs in the backyard and when I arrived I was the only person for 7 tables or so. There is no buffet so you have to order everything separate. However the selection is very small, no cheese etc. Moreover, the lady who served disappeared so I was alone and when another guy came he had to wait for 10 minutes for someone to turn up. No kidding! Another guest came and she asked at reception for someone to show up in the breakfast room! The guy at reception was clearly the same as was there in the evening, so 2 people seem to work here;) Check-out was also very clumsy as it took ages and when I wanted a company address on the bill the guy at reception gave up and said they are going to send it by email. Let's see. Overall it is not as bad as this sounds and the location is very good plus the rooms were large and okay with very nice bathroom. However, a bit of a strange or let's say personal experience.

Yelp
Lovely hotel in a convenient location. Helpful front desk staff. WiFi in our room. Elevator access. Walking distance to Musée d'Orsay. Great jazz spot around the corner. And delicious bakery down the street.

Yelp
I've stayed at a lot of hotels, but only a few in Paris and I would certainly stay at this one again. I was welcomed here by two very courteous gentlemen. Thankfully their English was very good because my french is not so good. Everyone I encountered at the hotel was so nice and spoke English. I was shown and given a choice of rooms because I mentioned my daughter was going to stay with me instead of staying in her dorm room. I felt that was going above and beyond ANY hotel I've ever stayed at to be so kind and to give me an option like that. The room we stayed in was very spacious and very clean. We'd leave for a short while and come back to a clean room every time regardless of the time of day. The floor was creaky and uneven in places, but with all of the good things about our stay here, the floor was just an indication we were in an old charming building in Paris. The location is very central and close to many things to do and wonderful restaurants and cafes. I truly wish Hotel Danube great success and hope to have the opportunity to stay there again.

Yelp
I loved this hotel! Had a beautiful breakfast on the balcony of my big (but not too expensive!) room, which was brought to me by the sweetest, most adorable young woman in a little French maid costume. (I didn't get her name but I hope she is treated well as I love, love, LOVED her!) I only stayed two nights but it was just lovely. There was ONE check-in guy who was kind of snobbish and made me feel like a dumb American, but the horrible attack on Paris had just happened, so I give him a pass. Great hotel, get the breakfast option! *note: I Yelp only about places at which I've had great experiences. If I had a bad experience, I think everything deserves a second chance at greatness.

Yelp
Excellent location on the left bank, near the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay, this historical hotel has excellent service and is full of character. We'll be back next time we come to Paris. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This hotel was wonderful! Our family had two rooms for three nights. I was amazed how large both rooms were. We had a closet, refrigerator, drawers and chairs. The bathroom by European standards was huge - the toilet was behind a separate door and we had a shower, towel heating rack and separate large tub. The provided great amenities (hair mousse) and the bed was very comfortable with extra blankets. The breakfast was wonderful - all a part of the stay and included fresh squeezed orange juice. Fantastic location - short 10 minute walk to the Louvre and Notre Dame.
