Exceptional service from the moment I made my first enquiry. Endlessly helpful with advice, suggestions and assistance. A wonderful hotel with the perfect balance of smartness and luxury while maintaining a family atmosphere. There’s a fantastic rooftop terrace and bar which opens 6 evenings a week, plus a spa and sauna. I’d recommend paying a little more and staying in a room with a lake view and a balcony. It’s relaxing watching the world go by, and very handy to keep an eye on the queues for the boats!

I absolutely LOVE this hotel!!! It is perfectly situated in the main part of town right across from the ferry station. The staff were very welcoming and ready to give recommendations. The room was very comfortable and quiet. There is a sauna and hot tub for relaxing. There is a rooftop bar for drinks and sunsets. The price was very reasonable for the area. Thank you for an amazing stay!

The hotel is lovely and the location is perfect. The views from hotel’s balconies and terraces are stunning and our room was comfortable and clean. We found the bar and the restaurant a bit too busy, but it is understandable for such a location. We just chose to go somewhere else for dining during our 4-nights stay.

We've stayed at Hotel du Lac 4 times. We love it. You cannot beat it's location to the lake, ferry and town. Amazing people on staff that treat you like family. Incredible restaurants in Bistro Arturo and Goiya with great views, atmosphere and food and a rooftop bar for a drink to start the evening. For the money, the best hotel in Bellagio.

This hotel offers everything what you would like to have to be looked after. We are very experienced travellers and used to stop in different hotels and being in Hotel Du Lac & SPA we felt like we stopped in a 5 stars hotel. Everything was beyond our expectations. The location was very good and the views the hotel offers were gorgeous. Our room was always super clean. The breakfast had excellent variety and the staff was caring and helpful. I would like particularly to thank Ganga for looking after me, her attention to my wishes. All receptionists were extremely helpful as well and very friendly but Sara was just amazing. She helped us with everything we needed. Huge THANKS to all of you making our holiday SUPER special!!! Liza and Daniel.

We had a fabulous evening at Hotel Du Lac with drinks on the 5th floor terrace before dinner at Gioya. The view from the terrace is incredible and the drinks and service were excellent. Dinner at Gioya was the highlight of our entire trip to Italy - the food was incredible delivered with world class service. Many thanks to everyone at Hotel Du Lac and I look forward to returning soon.

Google
A splendid view and perfect spot for people-watching at sunset. The drinks menu is varied and enjoyable, though prices are a bit higher than neighbouring places. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. We waited around 25 minutes for a single glass of wine, and had to follow up multiple times before anything arrived. Staff felt rather unwelcoming and brusque, which made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. It’s a real shame, as the location has so much potential—better training and a more attentive, friendly approach could truly elevate it.

We happened to discover this hotel by accident. We were looking for a room to spend a couple of days in Bellagio. The hotel is amazing and centrally located right in the middle of town. Parking is a little bit of a nightmare. Even though they state they have it, you have to park up the hill and walk back down. We tried the restaurant for dinner, but the menu was very limited, and we did not end up eating there. We did enjoy the breakfast buffet that comes with the room. It was quite extensive with a lot of options. It also has great views to wake up with in the morning with coffee.

Yelp
*Important to note we did not stay at this hotel, this review is in regard to the water front and rooftop bar only. Visited the waterfront bar on our first night in Bellagio. It was lively and a good atmosphere. Service was good for what you would expect In Lake Como. The old fashioned was watery. The dirty martini was lemon based, so be prepared if you are more accustomed to olive. Too sweet for my girlfriend. We then got an Aperol spritz and Espresso Martini, both which were good and the Espresso Martini was a frequent drink throughout the next few days. Two nights later we made a reservation for the rooftop bar at the hotel. Simply go to the front desk receptionist and ask for a reservation. Each employee we encountered was very nice and helpful. On the rooftop the views are just incredible. I ordered a Passion Fruit Mojito, which might have been the best drink I've had in Europe so far(I never order mojitos but it was suggested by a fellow tourist, great suggestion). Again, the espresso martini and aperol were good as well. Highly recommend checking this place out. Service up top was very good and every employee we encountered was happy to take pictures for the guests.

Yelp
We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Du Lac. The staff was outstanding. The young women working at the front desk (was so sorry I didn't get her name) helped us out with reservations, ferry schedule, you name it, she was there to help. She was wonderful. Our room was nice. The bed was nice and big and pillows comfy. I could never figure out how to use the thermostat so it was a bit stuffy in our room. The last night I slept with the window open and it was much cooler. Our patio overlooked the lake and had a small table and two chairs. Beautiful views to behold. Breakfast was ok. I missed the fresh fruit and made to order cappuccinos we received at other places. They have a great roof top terrace bar which was great. Again, outstanding views. The central location makes it ideal for hopping the ferry, going to the botanical garden or finding a place to eat. Very nice stay.

Yelp
Love this hotel! Staff are friendly and accommodating. It's quaint clean the bedrooms have a lovely balcony overlooking the lake. Drinks are reasonably priced and it has a nice roof top terrace. It even has a spa which is included in your hotel reservation.

Yelp
My husband and I chose Hotel Du Lac for our 3- night stay in Bellagio based on its location and Trip Advisor reviews. The location is perfect, on the street that goes along Lake Como, and directly across from the boat that takes you around the lake. The people who work there are very nice and super informative. They were quick to make lots of recommendations on restaurants nearby and circle spots on a map. They were also very kind about letting me practice my rudimentary Italian skills. We reserved a superior double room and were happy to have a bit of a lake view from our small balcony. I would have enjoyed a full lake view but most rooms had been sold out by the time I made my reservation. The room itself is small, and not terribly interesting. I really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching people pass by on the small street underneath. The bathroom was renovated with a nice shower, bidet, and heated towel racks. Breakfast is included and there is a lovely sitting area with a lake view. The breakfast offers a large variety of items, including eggs and bacon, cereal, fruit, and pastries. I had a couple of delicious sweet croissants. There is a beautiful terrace overlooking the lake on the fifth floor. There is a bar that was closed the first two nights due to weather. The third night we enjoyed cocktails on the terrace. Staff was friendly. It seems that the bar is only open for two and a half hours or so, but they let us stay there and enjoy the view for as long as we liked. All in all, the room is just ok, but location, staff, and extras make me recommend the hotel.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location and the roof top bar is fantastic with great staff and an amazing view. That is why I gave it 3 stars. What ruined the stay for us was the incredibly rude front desk staff. They would not help us with any travel plans, train tickets or tours. Also, the rooms over the restaurant smell like cooking from the breakfast and dinner. The smell trend my stomach. Also, you can hear everyone walking and talking in front of the elevator and going up and down the stairs. It was very noisy if you wanted to sleep late in the morning as the noise/talking etc started at 7am. I would skip this hotel and book the hotel Florence a few doors down. The front desk people there could not have been nicer and helped us when hotel du lac wouldn't.

Yelp
We really had a perfect stay. The front desk concierge was helpful with a few bookings and also suggested the rooftop bar for drinks at sunset which became our standard fare. Morning breakfast was also quite a bit more than we expected with hot food, fresh pastry, lots of fresh fruit and salad, along with meats and cheeses. And of course, the room; just large enough with a balcony to relax and take in all the lake views. Really, it couldn't have been better-and at a very reasonable price.

Yelp
Overall pretty bad experience 1. Terrible rooms - only some are updated, they don't tell you this and then call every room a Delux room. Half the rooms are not renovated and are extremely old. THE ROOMS ARE NOT AS PICTURED ON THE WEBSITE! 2. Bugs - I get it it's on a lake. But there are bugs all over the rooms, live ones and dead ones. 3. AC- didn't work! When we complained the said they had an 'engineer' come look at it but it was still broken! It was sweltering hot, we asked for a fan and they brought us one from the kitchen which smelled horrible and was super loud so we couldn't use it. Ultimately they brought us another one and we finally got to sleep super late. 4. Rude staff - the manager or whoever sits at the front desk was very unprofessional. When we informed him of the unrenovated room not being delux he started almost scolding us. Then when we complained about the ac in the morning he started almost threatening us with nonsense. Overall it was a pretty terrible experience. We will never stay here again and we recommend that you do not either.

Yelp
My husband stayed here on our honeymoon way back in 1999 and we swore we would some day return with our children. Just returned (with a 14-year-old and a 9-year-old as well as my parents in their 80s) and were extremely happy with the service, the location, the room, everything. The views out the lakeside rooms are stupendous and of all of the hotels this one seems to get the least of the street/cafe noise. The hotel restaurant is the best place we ate in Bellagio, and we tried most of the recommended places we found on Yelp. Would heartily recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Yelp
In a country and city of fantastic restaurants, Belkagio's Hotel Du Lac's excellent upper level restaurant prevails due to the small number of tables, awesome views, remarkable food and gracious and attentive staff. Led by an informed and professional maitre d, the staff provided a fluid and exquisite array of food and wines. A must with reservations advised. Mangia!

Yelp
A terrific location in Bellagio. Being lakefront is nice. Having breakfast or dinner on the veranda with a view is a must do. A very special spot. The food is good too. The service is very nice and they really pay attention to the details.

Yelp
The location of Hotel Du Lac couldn't be any better! It is right across the street from the water taxi station, on the water front. The hotel has an elegant lobby and friendly staff. The breakfast served on the second floor overlooking the lake is wonderful way to start the day! The hotel was very quiet despite being on the main street and across from the water taxi station. The rooms are a nice size with modern bathrooms. The hotel was immaculate while we stayed there. My only detractor would be that the decor in the rooms is very dated and feminine (lots of pink and floral). However, you don't go to a destination like this to stay in the room! I would stay here again based on the location and service, but I'm holding back the 5-star rating based on the decor.

Yelp
Fair. Best part was location and view of Lake Como from the room. But the room... we travelled with friends, booked our rooms at the same time and for the same price, but their room was twice the size. Not a single drawer so we lived out of our suitcases for three nights. Breakfast... scrambled eggs that were so runny there was a puddle on the plate. Frankly, they seemed like Egg Beaters. Staff was friendly and helpful. Still, if we return to Como, we'll find another place.

Yelp
Their café out on the street was my favorite place to sit and watch the water. Best tiramisu in town, and trust me I've tried them all!

Yelp
The Hotel Du Lac is exceptionally good. We have a nice large room overlooking Lake Como providing spectacular views in both directions. The staff here is absolutely the best I've encountered anywhere. My other half was sick upon arrival and the staff went out of their way to get her a cup of soup to help her feel better. They are truly concerned about her and offer assistance in any way needed. The Hotel Du Lac also has a beautiful roof top garden where you can bask in the sun. This is an all around winner.
