Hotel Du Lac Interlaken

Our stay at Hotel du Lac in Interlaken was exceptional. The hotel offers a very comfortable stay with cozy, well-appointed rooms that provided a perfect retreat after exploring the town. The great breakfast was a highlight, featuring a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options, from pastries to local cheeses, catering to all tastes. The clean and hygienic room was spotless, with daily housekeeping ensuring a pristine environment. The staff’s caring attitude shone through, as they were attentive, friendly, and quick to assist with recommendations or requests. The hotel’s central location is ideal, just steps from Interlaken’s main attractions, shops, and restaurants, making it easy to explore the stunning surroundings. Overall, Hotel du Lac combines comfort, cleanliness, and excellent service in a prime location, making it a top choice for anyone visiting Interlaken. Highly recommended!

Nice place to stay and it's right next to Interlaken OST station. The only disappointment was the chef and reception person. We had to leave by 6.30 a.m to Jungfrau and requested if we could have some bread or fruit to carry along as we had paid for breakfast but breakfast doesn't start until 7 a.m. I was told nothing would be ready before 7. It was shocking to see that the breakfast was all ready made and nothing really cooked by the chef except boiled eggs. They could've easily provided us with a croissant or a fruit which we requested just for 1 morning.

I stayed at Hotel du Lac and while the staff were very kind and genuinely helpful throughout my visit, the experience overall was disappointing. Unfortunately, the toilet in my room was leaking the entire time, which was frustrating and gave the impression that maintenance and repairs are not properly prioritized. Breakfast was another letdown — overpriced for what was offered. The only proteins available were hard-boiled eggs and a few slices of turkey, with the rest of the spread feeling sparse and lacking variety. For the cost, I expected much more substance and quality. It’s clear the owners are cutting corners, both in upkeep and in the breakfast offerings, which really detracts from what could otherwise be a charming stay. With some investment in repairs and a more thoughtful breakfast, this hotel could live up to its potential.

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Du Lac in Interlaken. While the hotel feels more like a 3-star property in terms of room size and overall design, it still offers a very good experience. The room was on the smaller side, and the balcony was quite compact, which may not suit everyone looking for spacious accommodations. The breakfast was simple but fresh mostly cheese, some fruit, and bread enough to start the day lightly. But what sets Hotel Du Lac apart is its unbeatable location. The hotel is also conveniently located near public transport, making it a great base for exploring the region. Despite some minor limitations in room space, I really loved my time here and would happily return for the view and peaceful atmosphere alone.

This is our 2nd hotel in our side trip to Switzerland. We chose this hotel because of its location! It is just beside interlaken ost 2-5 minutes walk and near the area where you board the boat cruise for lake Brienz! Very nice location. Nice 136 year old hotel but the breakfast is very basic and simple. Rooms are nice without aircon but nice view of the lake. Reminds you of the movie “somewhere in time”

Hotel Du Lac exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff are incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. They offered honest and helpful tips that made our trip more efficient and enjoyable.||The hotel’s location is perfect — close to Interlaken’s main sights and just a short drive to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and Spiez. Our room was spacious, very clean, and the balcony view was absolutely breathtaking.||For the service, quality, and location, it’s easily one of the best value stays we had in Switzerland. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely return!

We had to call booking and the police to be let in after paying our stay IN FULL since the person on the phone hung up on us and left us outside in the rain with a baby at night for not wanting to pay more through an outside and suspicious link. We booked our stay through booking and paid in advance before getting there, we spent the day working in the mountains and arrived quite late, at night, under the rain with a baby to find the place locked and empty, with nobody around and no instructions left. We call the number on booking and they were speaking spanish and controversial stuff about politics and Israel, and told us they were not letting us in because we did not pay extra money through a link they sent us. I asked if she was joking, that I had already paid the full stay in advance and was outside with luggage and a baby under the rain, and asked her to let us in and after we could see if there were any extras outstanding. She hung up the phone on us and switched it off! Who leaves someone with a baby under the rain at night especially after having paid for THE FULL STAY? We had to call the police and booking, who told her via email, since she was not picking up the phone, to either open the door or get a fine and be forced to reimburse all the money. Shortly after paying the extras, last night at 2 AM, my credit card had a fishy charge of more than 3000 dollars that was luckily not accepted by the bank and had my card canceled. Someone should really look into this because this is not just highly unprofessional but not acceptable and not compliant with any basic Swiss standards. This is totally unacceptable

When I first saw the hotel, I felt we had made a great choice due to its convenient location near the train station and a supermarket. However, my expectations quickly diminished upon entering the room. The accommodations were outdated, and the service did not meet my expectations. Safety measures appeared poorly maintained, and the in-room amenities were only provided once and never replenished. The bed linens were not changed, the hair dryer was very small, and the walls were so thin that I could clearly hear noises from outside. The most upsetting part occurred just before check-out. The receptionist informed me that I needed to pay for breakfast as it was not included in the room rate. This surprised me, as it was never mentioned during the booking process or throughout my stay. I explained to them that I had not had breakfast during my time at the hotel. The staff went to the restaurant to check if anyone had seen me there. A while later, the receptionist returned and said, “I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. If you didn’t have breakfast, we won’t charge you.” I found this response unsatisfactory. I would have preferred a proper apology rather than a casual dismissal.

This hotel is AMAZING! The staff treats you like you deserve. We have stayed at this amazing hotel many times with our groups ( we take people all over Europe) and have fallen in love with this hotel. The food is wonderful also. Rooms are homie and beds are very comfortable ( which is a must) As you can tell I can't say enough good things about this hotel and staff. And the owner Ernest Hofmann goes out of his way to please his guest. Also the views are breathtaking! And the hotel is located across from the train station
