Our stay at Hotel du Lac in Interlaken was exceptional. The hotel offers a very comfortable stay with cozy, well-appointed rooms that provided a perfect retreat after exploring the town. The great breakfast was a highlight, featuring a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options, from pastries to local cheeses, catering to all tastes. The clean and hygienic room was spotless, with daily housekeeping ensuring a pristine environment. The hotel’s central location is ideal, just steps from Interlaken’s main attractions, shops, and restaurants, making it easy to explore the stunning surroundings. I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Du Lac in Interlaken. While the hotel feels more like a 3-star property in terms of room size and overall design, it still offers a very good experience. The room was on the smaller side, and the balcony was quite compact, which may not suit everyone looking for spacious accommodations. The breakfast was simple but fresh mostly cheese, some fruit, and bread enough to start the day lightly. But what sets Hotel Du Lac apart is its unbeatable location. The hotel is also conveniently located near public transport, making it a great base for exploring the region. Despite some minor limitations in room space, I really loved my time here and would happily return for the view and peaceful atmosphere alone.

Hotel Du Lac exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff are incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. They offered honest and helpful tips that made our trip more efficient and enjoyable.||The hotel’s location is perfect — close to Interlaken’s main sights and just a short drive to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and Spiez. Our room was spacious, very clean, and the balcony view was absolutely breathtaking.||For the service, quality, and location, it’s easily one of the best value stays we had in Switzerland. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely return!

When I first saw the hotel, I felt we had made a great choice due to its convenient location near the train station and a supermarket. However, my expectations quickly diminished upon entering the room. The accommodations were outdated, and the service did not meet my expectations. Safety measures appeared poorly maintained, and the in-room amenities were only provided once and never replenished. The bed linens were not changed, the hair dryer was very small, and the walls were so thin that I could clearly hear noises from outside. The most upsetting part occurred just before check-out. The receptionist informed me that I needed to pay for breakfast as it was not included in the room rate. This surprised me, as it was never mentioned during the booking process or throughout my stay. I explained to them that I had not had breakfast during my time at the hotel. The staff went to the restaurant to check if anyone had seen me there. A while later, the receptionist returned and said, “I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. If you didn’t have breakfast, we won’t charge you.” I found this response unsatisfactory. I would have preferred a proper apology rather than a casual dismissal.

This is our 2nd hotel in our side trip to Switzerland. We chose this hotel because of its location! It is just beside interlaken ost 2-5 minutes walk and near the area where you board the boat cruise for lake Brienz! Very nice location. Nice 136 year old hotel but the breakfast is very basic and simple. Rooms are nice without aircon but nice view of the lake. Reminds you of the movie “somewhere in time”

This family-run hotel truly goes above and beyond to make your stay not only comfortable but memorable. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, helpful, and genuinely invested in ensuring we made the most of our time in the region. One of the standout aspects of our stay was how honest and insightful the staff’s local recommendations were. Whether it was tips on how to avoid crowds, plan day trips, or enjoy hidden gems, their advice helped us explore Interlaken and surrounding areas more efficiently and enjoyably. The hotel is ideally located — within very short driving distance (20–30 minutes) of popular destinations like Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and Spiez — making it a perfect base for exploring the Bernese Oberland. Our room was clean, spacious, and had an incredible view from the balcony, which made mornings and evenings especially relaxing. Considering the quality of service, cleanliness, and prime location, the value for money is outstanding. We are truly grateful for the hospitality and professionalism of the team at Hotel Du Lac and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Switzerland. It’s rare to find a place that combines warmth, honesty, and efficiency so seamlessly. Thank you again for a fantastic stay — we look forward to returning!

Beautiful hotel by the lake in the heart of the world renowned Interlaken. Hotel has character very swiss. Very near the train station, ferries and bus. Stunning window views, breakfast included.

This was an absolutely wonderful stay! I would give Hotel Du Lac Interlaken a full five stars. I stayed here for six nights from May 13th to May 18th. Although the room was a bit old, it was by no means dirty or messy, and the housekeeping staff were very prompt in their cleaning duties. Our room had a small balcony, and as soon as you stepped out, you could see the snow-capped mountains. Opening the bathroom window revealed a view of the lake. Trust me, after a day of sightseeing, sitting on the balcony, daydreaming, and watching the sunset is an experience you don't want to miss. Similarly, waking up early and watching the sunrise while listening to the birds sing is truly delightful. In terms of service, the room was cleaned very thoroughly and promptly. I also had a very pleasant conversation with the owner. Knowing that I was on my honeymoon, he even offered me and a Canadian guest a glass of whiskey. This was a wonderful memory from my trip! Regarding transportation, the hotel is very conveniently located, just a three-minute walk from Interlaken Ost station and less than a one-minute walk to the pier. The largest Coop supermarket is only a five-minute walk away. Let me add that the roast chicken and cold platter from Coop are really delicious! You can even buy roast chicken, a cold platter, and beer, take them back to your room, sit on the balcony, and enjoy the view of the mountains and the sunset. Believe me, it will be one of the best moments of your life. I will definitely choose to stay here again next time, hoping to create even more wonderful memories.

This hotel is AMAZING! The staff treats you like you deserve. We have stayed at this amazing hotel many times with our groups ( we take people all over Europe) and have fallen in love with this hotel. The food is wonderful also. Rooms are homie and beds are very comfortable ( which is a must) As you can tell I can't say enough good things about this hotel and staff. And the owner Ernest Hofmann goes out of his way to please his guest. Also the views are breathtaking! And the hotel is located across from the train station
