Hotel du Nord Interlaken

Our stay was made special thanks to everyone working there. Debby was phenomenal and very helpful! The crew serving breakfast was also very kind and helpful. We had our 19 month son with us and everyone was very kind to him also. Thank you and we cannot recommend this hotel enough! Nice and spacious room too!

Absolutely amazing experience! The room service was perfect, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and cooperative. They even allowed us to store our luggage after check-out. Highly recommended!

Rail holiday from UK via Paris, Geneva, Zermatt, InterLaken and Basel.|Hotel Du Nord has a 4 star rating and is conveniently located just a short stroll from the railway station.|InterLaken is a perfect base to access the Jung Frau region and as keen hikers we were happily anticipating our 4 night stay.|Whilst Hotel Du Nord was the most expensive hotel we had booked it was clearly sub par and nowhere near a 4 star rating.|Our Superior double room was quite small and the upholstered headboard had a big hole in it it. |Decor throughout hotel generally tired and dated.|Breakfast room had a canteen feel and the information on tables advised guests to ‘watch the size of food portion’. Seemed odd, although chocolate donuts were served up as part of the buffet!

The location is excellent. Great view from the room and the breakfast area. @ - No air conditioning; absolutely uninhabitable during this heatwave. - The room looks nothing like the photos; very small and run-down. - Bizarre rules like you can't wash your socks or any intimate clothing, whereas they do not have any laundry service either. Upon asking, the staff didn't even know what dry cleaning is, and shoved a laundromat brochure at our hand. Are we there for a holiday or to do washing? And are guests who are staying for a week just supposed to be wearing used socks and pants? - Cleaning was below-par, with staff actually putting back used glasses from bathroom back into the desk. - Sheets not being changed; absolutely Appalling quality of pillows. Most critically, they tried to gaslight me by saying I have enjoyed the view because of a free upgrade, and my reserved room didn’t have the “luxury”. While, the room description of the room that I reserved starts with the mention of the same view! This hotel needs to take a good look at what they are providing and what it actually means to be a 4 star.

Had an amazing 3-night stay. Got a standard twin room which was way more spacious than expected and looks like newly renovated. Location was perfect with a 10 min walk from the OST. Breakfast was great too (really liked their cheese varieties) and Staff were super friendly and helpful.

We were in Interlaken for 3 days we stopped here one afternoon for drinks from their bar. They have a beautiful outdoor area next to where the para gliders land. We went in and ordered two drinks the bartender had a difficult time communicating and understanding our order which were drinks listed on their menu. She threw together two drinks. One was made without the proper ingredients that were listed on the menu. Trying to communicate this to her was impossible. The drinks were very expensive. What made this experience so poor was her disinterest in trying to be remotely helpful, simply asking for a napkin was made into a drama when she toss the whole stack on the counter. We have traveled extensively, this is the first issue we've had with staff of any kind. If you have options I would go elsewhere.

My daughter and I had a pleasant stay at this property, perfectly located just a few minutes walk from Interlaken Ost railway station and the Main Street. The hotel staff greeted us warmly and were friendly throughout. Our room was clean, though a bit small and without AC, it felt warm. There was a fan in the room and the staff kindly provided an extra one when we asked. The breakfast was enjoyable, and the courteous staff went out of their way to make fried eggs for me since I’m lactose intolerant and couldn’t have the scrambled eggs. Overall, it was a great experience. I’d suggest booking a room with a balcony for the beautiful views, which we unfortunately missed out on. Lot of good restaurants are a walk away from the property.

Extremely Disappointed – Avoid at All Costs My experience at Hotel Du Nord has been nothing short of terrible. The property is completely misrepresented. The rooms are in poor condition, and basic amenities like drinking water are not provided. The air conditioning doesn’t work, making the stay very uncomfortable. The staff is shockingly rude and unhelpful. The manager is completely unresponsive and dismissive – it’s clear they have no interest in solving any issues. Check-in and check-out were delayed with no proper communication, and the whole process felt like mental torture. Room cleaning is only available until 2 PM, and even then, it’s subpar. The service here is absolutely disgraceful. You’re better off staying at one of the many other well-rated hotels in Interlaken. Save your time, money, and peace of mind – do not stay here.

I must say the hotel is right in the center of town. It is a 5 minute walk from the Ost station. Very friendly staff upon arrival, upgraded me from a single bed room to a king ( figured the singles were sold out) as I booked thru hotel.com. Nice surprise I was taken to my room and shown how things worked, lighting, tv mini bar. Everything in the mini bar was complimentary, beer, juice, soda, water. Totally modern and upgraded hotel. It does not have a/c which I had read about so I only booked one night. There are fans in the room and I slept fine. I booked an additional night at the front desk once I knew I could manage without the a/c. Free breakfast buffet, very nice. Excellent value for the region.

Stay elsewhere. Charged me $75 to cancel my reservation more than a month in advance. You have to book way in advance to get a room, travel plans change easily. Should be more flexible as I'm sure the room will be filled.

The staff were attentive great renovated room. Really enjoyed my stay. Beautiful view from the balcony big enough fridge for snacks. They left a bag of towels on my door when I had do not disturb sign on my door- I thought it was a very sweet and considerate gesture on their part. Highly recommend it. Will return.
