I went on a girls trip to the south of France in end of April, and my first stop was a solo stay in the unbelievably beautiful city of Montpellier to attend a French language school in the mornings. Hotel du Palais was the unexpected highlight of the entire trip! It is so adorably French. I loved my little green room and breakfast outside every morning in the cafe area. Having tea outside or a glass of rosé also became a habit. It is walking distance to an infinite number of fantastic restaurants, markets, and parks. ||The weather was perfection, but I imagine with the right clothing most times of year would be lovely sitting outside and watching the world go by. I love sleeping COLD, so when I discovered there is no AC until the 1st of May, I was worried, but the nights are cool and I remained comfortable with the rooms windows open. ||FYI, I had room 14. It's small with limited storage but the bathroom/shower is spacious for Europe. I loved having the dual balconies with French doors. Not wide enough for chairs but perfect for bringing the outside in: the old stone buildings and narrow streets, the cooing of pigeons, and the ringing of church bells -- literally all the French charm you could ever want.||The staff was WONDERFUL. They were so thoughtful and treated me like a family guest. Yet another reason I want to return! Merci, Hotel du Palais, for making my trip so memorable!
