Hotel du Vin Exeter (Exeter, Devon) 2 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A beautiful old Edwardian hospital in Exeter finds new life as a luxury hotel — and should this happen to touch off a mania for converting well-preserved institutions into stylish, contemporary lodgings, we’ll be there to cheer it on. Then again, even if it turns out to be a one-off, we’ll still be there to cheer it on; the Hotel du Vin winningly combines character, style, and a generous helping of good old-fashioned luxury behind its red-brick facade." - Tablet Hotels

I took my dad here for a few nights away for his 70th birthday. He has limited mobility and the hotel were extremely accommodating with this. Including showing him round the wet room and giving him a couple of room options which he very much appreciated. ||Toby was excellent and catered to all our needs and made it a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. ||They have a decent hotel bar too and overall the service from everyone we encountered was exemplary.

Love this hotel. Staff are brilliant, the rooms are stylish and fitted out with great thought for what a guest needs. The bed was large and comfortable, there were bathrobes, slippers, a nespresso machine, magnifying mirror, good shower, lots of storage and we slept really well. Situated a few minutes from the cathedral in one direction and the quayside in the other this is the perfect base for a stay in this great city.

Just stayed 6 nights in the Beekeepers Cottage which was so loveky, we had the best time, best weather and food fabulous.|All the staff were amazing but a special mention to Helen,Lydia, Suzie, James and Jake for looking after us. |The cottage is the 3rd year we have stayed in it, its the best Suite of the hotel. |The grounds and pool area and very well maintained. |A shame that the daily specials weren't always available like Mussel Wednesday and Lobster Friday but can't fault the food and service.|Breakfast is super too freshly cooked to order and Helen makes it run like a dream and doesn't miss anything so a huge thank you for making it a joy. |Hope to be back next year!

We were down in Exeter attending our daughter's graduation and she'd booked a table her in advance, not to be disappointed on-the-day with not being to find anywhere decent to have a celebratory meal. The venue and meal didn't disappoint and we had a lovely time on a very special occasion. We had various starters and desserts but all decided to have the beef mains. The cut of meat was beautiful and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Had afternoon Tea but despite pre ordering and hardly anyone in the diner, we still had to wait almost an hour before our orders were brought to our table. Very disappointing. Also had to ask for the extras like sugar, sauces and drinks. Staff were polite and smart but not as good an experience as I had hoped, for the price. Nicely decorated but not a place we will revisit.

A great little city break spot perfect for taking you dog along with you. Everything in Exeter is a short walk from the hotel and the hotel is dog friendly. The room was a decent size and very clean The food in the restaurant was great too and the pool was fantastic when the weather was hot

Many hotels advertise themselves as "dog friendly," but often that just means "dogs are allowed." However, we had a genuinely great experience at this hotel with our dog. She's a nervous rescue and can be reactive at times, but all the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Thanks to them, we were able to relax for once in a public space with her. The service in both the restaurant and bar was excellent—everyone was polite, professional, and friendly. Reception was also great, with the exception of the manager, to be honest. The room itself was a bit dusty and could’ve been cleaner, but the facilities were excellent, it wasn't missing a detail, and the bed was very comfortable. They also provided food and water bowls for the doggy, a dog bed, and even a little welcome bag with treats, a toy, and poo bags. Top notch. Overall, we were very happy with the experience and would absolutely recommend it to other dog owners.

Lovely hotel building however there were several issues during our stay which were disappointing for the money paid. Car parking is very limited, I had to park in a nearby public car park and despite having purchased rooms with air con, the air con didn’t work. Both these issues are not huge however when discussed with the management team, no acknowledgment of these issues was given and certainly no offer of a solution. This hotel could be great however the staffs attitude being it down to being very poor. #HotelduVinExeter you could do so much better.
