Delightful hotel in Orvieto. One of my favorite so far during this trip.
Excellent location - it's very close to the Duomo cathedral and accessible via a short set of stairs or through a back alley.
Staff spoke English well and were extremely courteous - they even went above and beyond to accommodate us.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained and surprisingly quiet. The water was hot and plentiful. The hotel has an elevator.
The breakfast was delicious and with eggs, bacon and a variety of breads and fruit. They also had good service and cappuccino.
Parking: some on site but Reserve parking ahead of time.

Very comfy and clean hotel within 1 minute of the Duomo and two minutes from the old city's shopping street. Super helpful and friendly staff ... and parking. (Follow their instructions explicitly to get to the parking!...it can be confusing just using Google maps) Nice breakfast too! We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel right near the Duomo and great restaurants. Nice rooms and comfortable beds with sound proof windows so no outside noise interrupted our sleep. They provided a hospitality kit in the rooms with slippers and bathroom essentials. There was a plentiful buffet breakfast each morning with a very helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great little hotel nestled a block away from the magnificent duomo in Orvieto and no more than 15 minutes from all the attractions. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Great breakfast and very attentive staff, always helping out with a smile. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Orvieto and would definitely stay here again during my next visit.

Great hotel! Family run in a great location near the cathedral. Easy to get to. The bus from the funicular to piazza Duomo is included in the funicular ticket. The best breakfast on our 3 week trip to Italy! Rooms are nice. The only downside is most of the rooms sit over a patio where people smoke.

This is an old hotel, but it makes up for this with incredible service, kindness and attention. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were super clean. The breakfast was great: various cheeses, salami/cold cuts, fresh cut fruit, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, pastries, yogurt etc. Included in your breakfast is also made to order espresso/hot beverages. The location was incredible, and again the staff were amazing.

I had such a great stay at Hotel Duomo!
Location is perfect, in the heart of the town, close to Duomo, many restaurants, shopping, cafes, etc..
The room is very spacious, clean, and fully equipped. I got a room at a separate unit from the main building, so it felt like I got a whole unit to myself! And easy to get out and come back whenever I needed a rest.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Orvieto is such a lovely town and I would stay at Hotel Duomo if I come back!!

Outstanding service. Front desk employees were very helpful and always with a smile. The breakfast is amazing and plentiful. Ricardo helped us with a lost phone 50km away-he called station police and communicated with them that we would come by to pickup lost phone in morning by train. Worked out perfect. So thankful for his help!

Yelp
Elisa (the owners daughter) who runs the hotel and her husband were AMAZING!
It was a dark, rainy night and cell service was dropping. We could not find the hotel with googles maps freezing up. I finally called the hotel and her Father (who doesn't speak English) got her on the phone for me and coached me through the entire drive from the other side of town to the door of the hotel. She was pleasant, personable and friendly.
The breakfast in the morning is amazing. Very nice selection including hard boiled eggs, sliced prosciutto and salami, assorted cheeses, fruits, biscuits and selections of breads, croissants, cakes and pastries. The coffee was hot and tasty.
We sat and talked to her for a bit after we came back from Sunday morning mass at the duomo.
Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Quiet, conveniently located by the Duomo. Excellent staff--they even volunteered to park the car and made a great recommendation for paninni de porchetta, the local speciality. And, unfortunately, they have lots of umbrellas for rain! Generous bedroom and lovely bathroom--at least room 206, Simone Mosca, is right up to date. Can't explain those reviews elsewhere...we loved it here.

Yelp
We stopped in Orvieto for 1 night on our tour of Italy. We were so excited for the town and for the hotel, as the reviews on here were so positive. The town itself was amazing. Beautiful, with interesting history and good food and not tons of crowds in the middle of the high season. Unfortunately, the hotel was 2 stars at best for us. The room itself was fine, with separate beds for the kids and a good air conditioner (essential in the heat of summer). The woman who checked us in, however (who turned out to be the owner's daughter) was completely unfriendly at first. She barely even told us the room wasn't ready and hardly looked at us. It was a stark contrast to the friendly and helpful service of the hotel we came from in Florence. At one point, she ended up being just down right rude and showed a complete lack of customer service. In the middle of the night, we heard a good deal of banging as well. In the future, we will be back to Orvieto, but sadly not back to the Hotel Duomo

Yelp
You can't beat the location. We got to wake up to the looming duomo every morning, with sun streaming in our shutter widows. It was incredible.
The hotel and rooms are nicely appointed and well-managed, with a simple breakfast served downstairs. There was also a cute bar area off the lobby, but it was pretty quiet when we were there in mid-March.

Yelp
We loved this hotel. It's right in the hub of Orvieto, a short walk to everything. It's very clean, with polished marble floors and stairs. There's a charming outdoor patio. The owners are very nice. And the breakfast is the best! It's also a very good value!

Yelp
I arrived here early this morning and left my bag for a 2.00 check-in. I had made my reservations on-line and the reviews were good. The moment I was led upstairs to my room, I knew I was in trouble. The very strong caustic smell of cleaning fluid burnt my nose. The clerk opened the windows for me and suggested using the air conditioning. I returned to the front desk and told her I could not breathe in that room. She stated I was the only guest who had ever had an issue. I asked for a refund and was told it could not be done. She pointed to the 5 day prior to arrival rule. I was shown another room and the smell was not as strong . Now I've returned at 9pm -- too late to leave. I'll sleep at the foot of the bed, diectly in front of the open window and wait until daylight to escape. Customer service lacking empathy and compassion give this a hotel a 1.
