This hotel is perfection!! We had only one night in Orvieto but we wish we had had more. The hotel location is perfect. Although Orvieto is small and nothing is too far, the best part of the hotel is that is it just a few meters from where they drop you on the but (at the main square). The hotel staff were super friendly and happy to help with everything. We stayed in a family room and there was tons of room for my family of four (mom, dad and two girls - 12 and 17 yo). We all had space and the bathroom was also big enough for all our stuff. Breakfast was delicious and everyone was very kind. We hope to return to Orvieto one day - and we will definitely stay at Hotel Duomo when we go.

After discovering our own a last-minute booking mistake (space too small), we stumbled upon Hotel Duomo in Orvieto—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. I took a chance booking it at midnight the night before, and it was an absolute blessing.||From the moment we arrived, Andreina made us feel completely welcome. She was warm, gracious, and incredibly helpful—arranging everything we needed, from storing our luggage when we arrived early, to suggesting wonderful places to eat and explore. She even arranged for a driver, Paolo, to meet us at the train station—and he was one of the kindest, most stylish, and welcoming people we've ever met. We liked him so much we made sure to get a photo with him before he brought us back to the station at the end of our stay!||The hotel’s location is spectacular—literally steps from the back of the stunning Duomo. It was magical to walk just 20 steps up from the hotel entrance and be face to face with such an incredible landmark. The rooms were gorgeous, with elegant decor and supremely comfortable beds. Without even asking, they placed our travel companions in the room next to ours so we could be together—such thoughtful hospitality.||Breakfast each morning was lovely: scrambled eggs, croissants, fresh fruit, juices—you name it. There’s also a charming little bar onsite for a pre-dinner drink or nightcap. Every single person we encountered on staff was kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to have us there.||As for Orvieto itself—it’s officially one of our favorite towns in Italy. It’s quiet, romantic, and walkable, with beautiful shops, excellent food, and a relaxed, non-touristy vibe. No pushy salespeople, no crowds—just pure charm.||This was a completely unexpected treasure of a stay, and we already know that Hotel Duomo will be the only place we stay the next time we return to Orvieto!

Hotel Duomo is a small but relatively modern hotel centrally located in Orvieto. Coming from a lovely older hotel in Assisi, we appreciated Hotel Duomo’s modern conveniences, such as a spacious room and bathroom, a modern elevator, and insulated glass to muffle outside noise. The breakfast is generous, and the staff is attentive and helpful. The hotel is half a block from the beautiful duomo and close to many shopping and dining options. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and did not experience any issues. Orvieto is a good base for visiting the nearby localities, and Hotel Duomo is a good place to stay.

This is a lovely, sparkling clean hotel within steps of the beautiful Duomo and all of the beauty that Orvieto has to offer. The desk staff was friendly and helpful with every question we had and checkin was quick and efficient. We had a room with a small balcony and loved our view of the terrace and the top of the cathedral peeking over the surrounding buildings. The breakfast was very good and included cooked to order eggs. This is an excellent spot to stay in Orvieto.

Really lovely hotel, staff super friendly and helpful. Excellent location next to Duomo but very quiet. Orvieto is busy during the day but much quieter in the evening. Room was comfy, mini bar with water and kettle. Breakfast had all the usual things. Saw someone having omelette, we weren't made aware that this was possible just ordered our coffees but was fine for us. Nice little sunny terrace for relaxing/ aperativo. My only moan was the hotel ordered us a taxi for checkout, the driver seemed to want to tell us what time the trains were arriving and so he would be a bit late. We had personal reasons for wanting to leave at 11. At 20 euros for a 5 min trip, please arrive when booked! Not the hotels fault but annoying. Felt like we were hassling reception.Definitely recommend this hotel.

In the heart of beautiful Orvieto at close proximity to the Duomo, Hotel Duomo is welcoming, clean, and extremely comfortable. There is a kettle with coffee and tea and a small fridge with complimentary water included. Our room had a balcony and was on a small street and it was absolutely quiet. There is a garden terrace with tables to sit outside. The included breakfast had every choice imaginable including hard boiled eggs and cooked to order scrambled eggs and bacon. If you are visiting Orvieto, we highly recommend a stay in.this lovely hotel.

The hotel is a true gem! Our room was lovely and spacious with a view of the duomo, literally steps from the piazza but not on the piazza which is best! Our room had tons of space, ask for the Room 302, and was a welcome respite from the very small room we came from in Rome. The bathroom was big w/top-notch Italian bath amenities |Breakfast was delicious, in a typical European style, with a few special pastries that were so yummy! Most of all the staff was very friendly, helpful and always smiling and patient when assisting with requests for directions and touring ideas. Super clean and stylish!! I hope to come back to beautiful Orvieto and will stay at Hotel Duomo if I do!

Upon arriving in Orvieto we checked into the Hotel which is located right in the main town square. Check in was prompt and the room was quite large and updated. The complementary breakfast was a nice touch and a great way to start the day. There is a Lift as well so it was quite easy to get back to the room after a long day of site seeing. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Elisa (the owners daughter) who runs the hotel and her husband were AMAZING! It was a dark, rainy night and cell service was dropping. We could not find the hotel with googles maps freezing up. I finally called the hotel and her Father (who doesn't speak English) got her on the phone for me and coached me through the entire drive from the other side of town to the door of the hotel. She was pleasant, personable and friendly. The breakfast in the morning is amazing. Very nice selection including hard boiled eggs, sliced prosciutto and salami, assorted cheeses, fruits, biscuits and selections of breads, croissants, cakes and pastries. The coffee was hot and tasty. We sat and talked to her for a bit after we came back from Sunday morning mass at the duomo. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Quiet, conveniently located by the Duomo. Excellent staff--they even volunteered to park the car and made a great recommendation for paninni de porchetta, the local speciality. And, unfortunately, they have lots of umbrellas for rain! Generous bedroom and lovely bathroom--at least room 206, Simone Mosca, is right up to date. Can't explain those reviews elsewhere...we loved it here.

Yelp
We stopped in Orvieto for 1 night on our tour of Italy. We were so excited for the town and for the hotel, as the reviews on here were so positive. The town itself was amazing. Beautiful, with interesting history and good food and not tons of crowds in the middle of the high season. Unfortunately, the hotel was 2 stars at best for us. The room itself was fine, with separate beds for the kids and a good air conditioner (essential in the heat of summer). The woman who checked us in, however (who turned out to be the owner's daughter) was completely unfriendly at first. She barely even told us the room wasn't ready and hardly looked at us. It was a stark contrast to the friendly and helpful service of the hotel we came from in Florence. At one point, she ended up being just down right rude and showed a complete lack of customer service. In the middle of the night, we heard a good deal of banging as well. In the future, we will be back to Orvieto, but sadly not back to the Hotel Duomo

Yelp
You can't beat the location. We got to wake up to the looming duomo every morning, with sun streaming in our shutter widows. It was incredible. The hotel and rooms are nicely appointed and well-managed, with a simple breakfast served downstairs. There was also a cute bar area off the lobby, but it was pretty quiet when we were there in mid-March.

Yelp
We loved this hotel. It's right in the hub of Orvieto, a short walk to everything. It's very clean, with polished marble floors and stairs. There's a charming outdoor patio. The owners are very nice. And the breakfast is the best! It's also a very good value!

Yelp
I arrived here early this morning and left my bag for a 2.00 check-in. I had made my reservations on-line and the reviews were good. The moment I was led upstairs to my room, I knew I was in trouble. The very strong caustic smell of cleaning fluid burnt my nose. The clerk opened the windows for me and suggested using the air conditioning. I returned to the front desk and told her I could not breathe in that room. She stated I was the only guest who had ever had an issue. I asked for a refund and was told it could not be done. She pointed to the 5 day prior to arrival rule. I was shown another room and the smell was not as strong . Now I've returned at 9pm -- too late to leave. I'll sleep at the foot of the bed, diectly in front of the open window and wait until daylight to escape. Customer service lacking empathy and compassion give this a hotel a 1.
