After discovering our own a last-minute booking mistake (space too small), we stumbled upon Hotel Duomo in Orvieto—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. I took a chance booking it at midnight the night before, and it was an absolute blessing.||From the moment we arrived, Andreina made us feel completely welcome. She was warm, gracious, and incredibly helpful—arranging everything we needed, from storing our luggage when we arrived early, to suggesting wonderful places to eat and explore. She even arranged for a driver, Paolo, to meet us at the train station—and he was one of the kindest, most stylish, and welcoming people we've ever met. We liked him so much we made sure to get a photo with him before he brought us back to the station at the end of our stay!||The hotel’s location is spectacular—literally steps from the back of the stunning Duomo. It was magical to walk just 20 steps up from the hotel entrance and be face to face with such an incredible landmark. The rooms were gorgeous, with elegant decor and supremely comfortable beds. Without even asking, they placed our travel companions in the room next to ours so we could be together—such thoughtful hospitality.||Breakfast each morning was lovely: scrambled eggs, croissants, fresh fruit, juices—you name it. There’s also a charming little bar onsite for a pre-dinner drink or nightcap. Every single person we encountered on staff was kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to have us there.||As for Orvieto itself—it’s officially one of our favorite towns in Italy. It’s quiet, romantic, and walkable, with beautiful shops, excellent food, and a relaxed, non-touristy vibe. No pushy salespeople, no crowds—just pure charm.||This was a completely unexpected treasure of a stay, and we already know that Hotel Duomo will be the only place we stay the next time we return to Orvieto!
