This was our second time staying at Hotel Durban and we’d stay again if we came back through Manila in the future. Everything works, the room is basic but comfortable with enough space and a nice bathroom for the price. WiFi was pretty inconsistent. The restaurant downstairs was fantastic.

Had a great time, it's so central and handy to everything you need. Really Well priced with friendly staff. Wouldn't hesitate to go back, actually I say this because I didn't on my return leg, booked something fancy but a 15 minute walk away and I really regretted it. It was a bit of a let down by comparison, and more expensive. This is all thats needed.

I booked this room for 2 nights but only stayed 30 minutes. It was a horrible place. They gave me a room with no window. Room number 104 on the ground floor even it was stated in the booking the room is on the first floor. The room was very smelly and so tiny that my bags just fitted in. No even close to the pictures on the webpage. The room was like a bunker. So bad. There was a very loud noise behind the wall, sounded like air ventilaton kind off. Also the wifi inside the room was not working. They said all other rooms were booked out so they couldn't give me another room. Then it was time to leave. The lady at the counter was the only good thing there. She was kind. But I only can say never ever again hotel Durban..I booked a hotel next door which was way better.

Room was not cleaned, there was hair on the walls and a cockaroach in the restroom. There was very loud outside noise. It's cheap, that's the only plus.

I really enjoyed this hotel, the staff is very friendly and accomodating. They even make time for you when They're busy. There is beautiful artwork, comfy beds and cable tv. I think if I was in Alaska, this hotel would cost $500 a night.

Small boutique hotel that punches above its weight primarily through aesthetic rather than amenities. Located close to the tourist area of Makati with good access to business & financial areas of town. Check-in was simple with advance reservation. Three floors of rooms. I assume based on the photos each of the rooms is different. Mine was a very small room with a double bed. Clean if somewhat spartan. Bed linens were crisp and clean. Television did not work. Mini-fridge in the room but unplugged. Television had sound but no picture. No in-room safe. This was a bit more disconcerting because the room locks are not digital/electronic but key operated. Felt unsafe but had no problems. Bathroom simple but clean. Shampoo and body wash provided but no other toiletries. If you're looking for a quiet, clean place to stay for a good price, check this place out. There's artwork around the place and the overall effect is relaxing. My particular room was a bit more bare-bones than it ought to be but other rooms might be different. Even still, my room was fine for a clean, quiet, simple place to sleep for the night.

No WiFi in the rooms, mosquitos and a cockroach fall when I open the A/C, needed to move here from another hotel of the same company because there was noise construction and maybe it was worse

Yelp
I stayed in Hotel Durban around the time of my birthday. They were a few renovations going on at the time and it was a bit noisy. Also, some rooms have no windows (like mine). If you don't like feeling claustrophobic, request for a room with windows. But, for the price, service, cleanliness and location, this is still great value for money. They also have a restaurant that serves delicious Italian food if you are too lazy to walk around Poblacion. Staff are still well trained and provide excellent service. It is conveniently placed at the center of Poblacion. This means the best food and bars are literally a walk away from the door. A'Toda Madre is right across from you and I do recommend you have their Tequila Flight with some of their tacos. Also, Century City Mall is a short walk away if you're looking to do some shopping. Overall, it was affordable and sufficient for my needs. I would definitely recommend this hotel for female solo travelers looking for a safe boutique hotel in Makati! :)

Yelp
When I choose a hotel, I look for value for money. Yes, I would like to spend as little money as possible, but I don't want to stay in a condemned building doing so. Is it too much to ask for our hotel rooms to be rodent-free and not smelling of piss and depression? I don't think it is. Hotel Durban stands out for me because it offers fantastic value for what you're paying. The hotel itself has a restrained classiness to it, and it's lobby has "boutique" written all over it. The rooms are comfortable enough, although most of them have no windows. The hotel also has its own restaurant, Farfalla, that serves Italian and continental choices. They even make their own bread and pasta, which is great. If you're game for it, choose a seat outdoors and watch the chaos and characters of Makati's tourist belt go by in front of you. It's fun in a weird way, trust me. Hotel Durban's rates are quite good, ranging from P1,600 - P2,500 (The latter gets you a window, yey). For that you get a fashionable hotel with a nice comfy bed, right in the middle of Makati's tourist district. If you're on a budget, this is a steal of a place.

Yelp
Great location in Makati. Waking distance to restaurants, some night life, and malls. Clean, safe, great AC, warm water/ shower. These are things that you may not always get in the Philippines when you look at more affordable lodging. The staff was very helpful. The Philippine bills were changed out this year and I had some old bills from the last visit to the Philippines. One of the ladies at the front desk accompanied me down the street to the bank and begged them to help me out. Unfortunately it was way past the deadline to get my bills exchanged for new ones. However, this was a testament to their outstanding costumer service. Make sure you have cash on hand for the deposit. (And make sure they are the new bills!)
