Hotel Dvorec

We stayed one night as arraigned by our Alpe Adria hiking coordinator Krauland. Room was great, nice comfortable bed and sparkling clean. Located right on the Adria trail, the hotel caters to a hiking/cycling crowd which lends itself to a nice quiet stay since most guests are dog tired and crash early. We ate dinner here and the service and food was excellent. We are vegetarian and the chef whipped us up something that really satisfied. The breakfast offerings were good, but my only gripe is the coffee. So many places us a multi product coffee machine that always has a line of people hangry for their morning caffeine jolt. Combine that with a crew of hikers /cyclists that are trying to get out on the trail you get a long line of unhappy coffee volk. By the time the line dialed down my coffee was cold. I’d recommend going with a large pot of coffee and just keep it coming. If someone wants a special espresso they can get it across the street (IMHO). All in all a great stay in Tolmin.

The hotel is really beautiful. An old castle converted into a hotel where even the staircase lighting was taken care of so the lamp looks old-fashioned with the novelty of a motion sensor to be ESG (saving and caring for the planet Earth). The room is small, but so nicely decorated and in the end it seems spacious. The beds are comfortable, the room is clean. Oh yes, there are a bunch of sockets - that really impressed me. :-) The tap water is of course drinkable, but the hotel also prepared a bottle and glasses with a description that the water is drinkable. The breakfast is very rich (just bring those small packaged butters). The location of the hotel is great, central and yet so quiet. Parking is 50-100 m from the hotel, but it is free and it is straight from the parking lot to the entrance to the hotel so you can drag/push your suitcase neatly.

Stayed one night during our Alp-Adria hike, standard double room. Room was updated, great shower, comfortable bed, AC. Staff was courteous. Excellent breakfast. The only “disappointment” is no kettle in the room to make tea/coffee, but many places we stayed do not have that either. Very happy with our stay.

Please note that the hotel doesn't have parking, even though they claim there is! This is not true. You have to park your car in the municipal parking lot. When I parked in front of the hotel the next day to retrieve my luggage, I received an 80 euro fine from the local municipal police. The hotel staff didn't explain how to get around the hotel at all. I don't recommend this hotel!

We had the superior room which is okay from size (but could be a little bit bigger). Personel is kind. Breakfast is good and the hotel is located directly in the city center.

I nice little hotel in the center of Tolmin but not without its issues. Room is missing a kettle/coffee facilities and has so many little lights shining overnight (TV, thermostat etc) Fridge didn’t work. Wifi was very flaky. ||Bike storage is down a steep ramp into the basement but it’s very fancy and seems to be from a previous life as a dance room maybe. ||Breakfast was OK but I cannot recommend dinner. It turned out to be self service buffet and nothing was warmer than tepid. You could have lots but I’m not sure you would really want to fill your boots. ||I sound like the place was awful and it wasn’t - I just want to point out its issues.

I liked the hotel quite well. The rooms were very nice and clean. The food was very good (breakfast and dinner). There is even a big bicycle garage in the basement. If I had something negative to say, then I must admit this Hotel is rather pricier than other options.

Me and my wife wanted to sit and to have a drink . There were no guests on the terrace except us , but no waiter came out from the restaurant , so we left after 10 minutes .
