Hótel Dyrhólaey

We had booked and paid for 2 nights here and ended up only staying 1 night, luckily our next stop could accommodate us early - this place is pretty basic and the room not welcoming at all. We declined the canteen dinner at £100 for 2 people in a dining room that is set out for large tour/school groups. We did have breakfast before we left - it was nothing special.||It was extremely warm during our visit and we had to leave the windows open to try and get some cool air (no aircon) and ended up with the room smelling of smoke from people smoking outside below our window.||We stayed at the Hotel Geysir, next stop along our route for the next few nights - it was cheaper and luxurious with excellent breakfast.

This hotel is a large hotel that had a very spacious family room with 3 beds that was what we needed near Vik. The room was very clean and the shower was fine. The breakfast was great with enough choices for all 3 of us and we had an amazing view while eating. The hallway carpet looked at little dated but I would definitely be willing to stay again. There are a number of hotel buildings, so if you're unable to walk far, you might ask for a room closer to the breakfast area.

A spacious hotel up on a hill with a fantastic view. We had a corner room and it was large and gorgeous. Large bed, 2 lounge chairs, and a sofa. Wish we had stayed for a few nights here. They did not sell any throat lozenges but the staff person at the service desk got one out of her coat and gave me one. Very kind. Breakfast had so many choices and the pastries were excellent. We will come back here again for a few days for sure.

A comfortable hotel is very close to Vik. Stunning views from our rooms. Breakfast was good. We decided to take a chance on the buffet dinner. It was surprisingly good with enough options for us. It was a great place for a couple of nights.

The most comfortable room we stayed in during our trip. The staff was so accommodating. Offered us coffee to go in the AM and a fan at night to help dry our clothes. Not to mention the beautiful view you get to look at outside you window. Highly recommend.

Located at a little elevation, it offers an amazing view to both the sea and mountains. Plenty of parking, excellent breakfast choice, rooms with great views. And it's quite a big hotel.

Great hotel overlooking beautiful scenery. Our room was big and comfortable. Nice beds. Quiet. Breakfast was good and had enough choice, only served until 9.30 am. Only negative is our room was really far from the main reception and breakfast area. Enough to not warrant a trip back to room after breakfast. We filled the car for the day before breakfast then headed out from there.

Stayed here two nights and really liked this place. The hotel is located on a hill, and has a magnificent view over the “plain”and the seashore. Room is small, but extremely clean, very welcoming. Breakfast is decent, what you would expect from a typical European hotel. Staff are very friendly.
