On the Grid : Hotel East

"It's obviously to observe the design are inspired from eastern elements, from the Mahjong(a tile-based game which is popular in Eastern Asia) room number plate to the japanese Washitsu room, Hotel East is proud of demonstrating the quintessence of oriental culture. In a walking distance near the "Nanjing Sanmin" metro station, Hotel East is just at the hub of business office area and making it a great pick for both business and leisure traveler. Starting the day in the basement with breakfast buffet or enjoy a cup of coffee and brunch at O.L.O cafe on the ground floor. There are also lots of food choices at the nearby alley for anyone fancy to experience some local food. Back to the room itself, fitted with wooden element furniture and generously large size of bathroom, featured local organic bathroom amenties, nespresso coffee machine and complimentary minibar. Hotel East makes a pleasant accommodation choice for anyone who acquire comfortable and urban lifestyle at the sam time." - Lin Yuhuan

Hotel East Taipei offers a welcoming and comfortable experience for travelers, characterized by commendable service quality and an inviting atmosphere. Based on my recent stay at the hotel, I would rate my experience across various aspects as follows.||||The service quality at Hotel East Taipei was impressive, earning a solid four-star rating. The staff members were attentive and friendly, making a genuine effort to ensure that all guest needs were met. They responded promptly to requests and provided helpful recommendations for local attractions. This level of service significantly contributed to my overall experience, making me feel valued throughout my stay.||||In terms of cleanliness and maintenance, the hotel also performed well, receiving a four-star rating. The common areas and guest rooms were well-maintained and tidy, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to hygiene and upkeep. I did not encounter any significant maintenance issues, and the staff promptly addressed any minor concerns that arose, further enhancing the overall impression of the property.||||When evaluating comfort and ambience, Hotel East Taipei truly excelled, meriting a five-star rating. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, featuring stylish décor and comfortable furnishings. My guest room was thoughtfully designed, creating a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring the city. The combination of comfort and aesthetic appeal significantly enhanced my overall experience.||||The food and beverage offerings at the hotel received a three-star rating. While the dining options were satisfactory, they did not stand out as exceptional. The menu featured a decent selection of dishes, but the quality and creativity could be improved. Although the meals were enjoyable, they did not leave a lasting impression compared to the overall excellence of the hotel.||||In terms of guest satisfaction and value for money, I would rate the hotel as four stars. Guests are likely to find good value in what the hotel offers, especially considering the excellent ambience and attentive service.||||In conclusion, Hotel East Taipei provides a commendable hospitality experience characterized by strong service quality, cleanliness, and exceptional comfort. While the food and beverage offerings could use some enhancement, the overall value for money makes this hotel a solid choice for travelers seeking a pleasant stay in Taipei. Booked a BT21 themed room and it was the best decision ever. It's super cute and I get to bring home free merch such as towels, mugs ans slippers. Room is spacious and I love their toiletries (the body wash and shampoo smells super good!)

AVOID THIS HOTEL! Horrible experience. Room : -5/5, The room was not as shown in the pictures. Me and my wife so disappointed when we opened the door to our room. It was dirty and it smelled mold as soon as we got out of the elevator. There was no transparent windows, which made the room really dark. We also did not have any bed lamps beside our bed, it was so dark in the without any lamps. There were also an issue with the fuse for the room, when we charged our phones, all the buttons in the room stopped working. (this resulted that we could not charge our phones during the night). Another huge problem was that we could not switch off the lamps when we were tiered and was ready to sleep, we had to go down to the front desk and talk with the personal. He followed us up and tried to fix it, but couldn't. There was also mosquitos in the room. Service from the personal 4/5, even tho we could not cancel our booked nights, the personal tried to talk with the manager who didn't let us cancel our booking. They tried to make us so comfortable as possible, but me and wife was not satisfied with the room at all. Manager, -5/5. I couldn't get a good night sleep because the room smelled mold and it was too noisy from the neighbors and the streets. We stayed at the hotel for one night and booked another hotel directly in the morning next day, even thought we did not receive a fair compensation. The managers excuse were that the hotel is a few years old and it is supposed to be like that. He did not listen to our problems and he did not care. Attached is a few pictures that shows a few of the disappointments that we got the experience.

Dark, disgusting and not working room. ||Me and my wife were supposed to stay here for 4 nights. We ended to stay here 1 night and threw the other nights in the drain. ||Long story short: |Outlets that didn't work and insects in the room. |Minimal lights in the room and no transperent windows. |Smelled like mold as soon as we got off the tiny elevator.||They have a manger that shouldn't be manager.

Clean and well designed. Couldnt get an early check in but it wasnt much of an issue. The room was cosy and had a bathtub. I didnt like that the toilet wasnt completely private even with the blinds as you can still peek through. There is free breakfast and paid self-service laundry on the roof. I checked out the roof and it was an absolute letdown for such a classy looking hotel. Actually come to think of it, even in the lobby, on one side, there were boxes and such are visible to us. I think all these are small details which make a hotel “ugly” and they should clean it up. TV was terrible too, constantly glitching. The breakfast was simple and sufficient. Do remember to clear your own dishes. Overall, I didnt think it was worth the price paid.

This hotel is ideally situated with a variety of amenities nearby, including a 24-hour Watsons, a 7-11, and several lovely spas in the area. Just a 3-minute walk from the subway station, the hotel is also conveniently located near Taipei Arena. While the room may be a bit dated and the Wi-Fi signal weak, the bathroom features a large bathtub perfect for relaxing soaks. However, there is limited sink space for your toiletries. If you are traveling with a large 28-inch luggage, I suggest booking a double room instead of a single room as the latter may not provide enough space for comfortable movement

We had a pleasant stay at Taipei East Hotel. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also roomy, with a counter that was large enough for me to lay out my stuff (I cannot deal with cramped bathrooms). The room gave a Japanese zen feel- all the furnishings were low to the ground. The staffs at the front desk were very nice and helpful. One gentleman at the front desk went over and beyond by helping us communicate with our next hostess, and taking his time to help us navigate to our next stop. We also left our passports in the safe after we left, and they immediately emailed us and we were able to return the next day to retrieve it. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would definitely return to this hotel!

Worst hotel we have ever been to. They have a manager who knows nothing about service. Never had such an bad experience about a hotel before. Ruined a part of our trip and wasted one day of waiting for a response. Disgusting rooms that do not correspond to their pictures.
