Don't go into this expecting a luxury hotel in any way, but if the price is right it's not a bad stay (there's also a code in the reviews from a hotel reply that added free breakfast for us).
As for the benefits, the location is excellent. It's true that the red light district is nearby, but it's a short, 3 minute walk to the beautiful waterfront area, plus near the train station. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was newly updated. The soundproofing between rooms was quite good.
For the negatives, the rooms are also dated. The floors creak quite badly, and you'll hear the people above you, and the soundproofing to the hallways isn't great either. The breakfast is a mixed bag; the quality is good (not great) but over four mornings there wasn't a single change made, and even the flavour of loaf they had was the same all four mornings. Staff was also somewhat mixed. We emailed about reservations at restaurants and about half of the time they replied within 15 mins, and half we had to follow up the next day. Checkout also took about 10 minutes which is far too long, with the staff at first believing we needed to pay for our breakfast when it was included.
Overall, if you pay the same for this as you would for any other mid tier hotel, then I'd recommend it. There's a code that the hotel posted in the reviews that gave us free breakfast, and with that it was worth it, but don't expect a luxury hotel as the SLH collection suggests.
