We had the most magical stay at Eclypse de Mar. A jewel in Bocas, the perfect retreat to disconnect and unwind. Our nature tour with Alejandro was spectacular. We saw two types of sloths, frogs, caymans, and tasted cocoa beans fresh off the plant, all just steps away from our bungalow. We loved having food available in the lovely restaurant, and having breakfast delivered to our bungalow where we could feed the fish while we enjoyed a relaxing morning. The staff and owner were super kind and helpful and make us feel so welcome. They told us just where to find the best snorkeling which we accessed with the free kayaks just offshore. The bungalow itself is heaven on earth, with a perfect view of Old Bank and dreamy swimmable waters right off your private deck. Favorite place I’ve ever stayed and I can’t wait to return someday.

My wife and two boys (12 & 9) just came back from a wonderful stay at Eclypse de Mar. The over the water bungalows were a unique and fantastic experience. We loved having breakfast in the room as the boys jumped in the water. The nature walk in the back is real jungle. We saw all kinds of fish below the bungalow and enjoyed feeding the fish from the coffee table. A few things to know. You can only get to and from the hotel by water taxi. Bring more cash than you expect. To get around the archipelago, we had a driver take us around in a water taxi and borrowed snorkel gear from the hotel. We liked the flexibility but they seem to offer more formal excursions. The music from bars across the bay carries over the water and I needed the ear plugs the hotel provided. We were told that Sunday nights are particularly bad. There's no air conditioning but the breeze was wonderful, even though everything was damp from the humidity. Finally, know that you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet, they have trash cans in the bathroom. It takes an adventurous spirit, but this experience was one of our favorite parts of Panama.

Wow this was one of the best places we’ve stayed in, we had a jungle cabana in the middle of the nature reserve. We saw sloths, monkeys and alligators near our cabin and the service and food were very good! See the pictures i took, all near our jungle cabin

We had a very special stay at Eclipse de Mar as we got engaged and what a gorgeous setting it gave us! This hotel is on a quieter island called Isla Bastimentos but it’s only a 10 minute water taxi to Bocas Town. The water taxis are very flexible, run at all times and easy to get. We stayed in a treehouse which was very clean, a huge comfortable bed and incredible setting amongst the trees with the sounds of nature creeping through. There is no air con in the treehouses, it can get quite humid downstairs but there is a small fan upstairs which is nice to have on throughout the night. The hotel staff were very helpful and there’s kayaks, paddle boards and snorkels that you can use for free! The only reason we’ve rated this a 4 instead of a 5 is due to the evening meal selection being quite limited, but we didn’t mind that as we enjoy eating at different places. Thank you for a very special stay!

What a piece of paradise! My friends and I stayed two nights at Eclypse de Mar, and from the moment we arrived at the dock, we were made to feel at home. The cabins are clean and very breezy (no AC needed), and the amenities such as SUP boards and access to the nature walk were a lovely addition to our time relaxing on the patio. The food and drinks were also delicious! We didn’t have any issue with noise - apart from maybe hearing light music from across the bay early evening, there was nothing notable at night and we slept very peacefully.||A special shout out to Nico and Rashima and the rest of the crew for their friendliness and incredible service. Highly recommend checking the place out if you’re heading to Bocas and are looking to relax!

I felt like an Instagram celebrity here! Awesome picturesque hotel! We stayed in the houses right on the water and it was so special and unusual there! I loved that you can order breakfast to the room without additional charge! Also, huge thanks to Alejandro, the tour guide, we had a great time on the Starfish beach and Zapatilla Island and he also showed us the sloths! 🦥 The only thing I can complain about is that you can’t use the hair dryers here.

Overall a good experience. But there it was hot....no airconditioning, and no fans. There was also no mosquito nets in one of our rooms so that was a bummer. The food was ok, but very pricy. You are a bit locked in to the location, so you need to catch a water taxi everywhere, or alternatively walk the rickety gang planks through the mangroves to Old Bank.... great location, but opportunities for improvement.

I am not burying the lead on this one. There is thumping regaeton bass and music heard loud across the bay until the early hours of the morning coming from a disco in the town near the resort, so unless you can sleep through that this place is not for you. We somehow missed that info in other reviews. I would never come back here, and am very disappointed.
