Have booked at Hotel Horn but was moved to||Hotel Edda Isafjordur. It is a school that is used as a hotel during the summer holidays. It is a very old and really looks like a school. Parking is free. . The room was very simple and spartan. There is a double bed arrangement (two single beds pushed together) and with comfortable beds. There is no television or other facilities in the room.||The bathroom is small, with a good shower (pressure & heat), but no shampoo available, only hand soap||This stay was definitely not good value for money.

The hallways were dark and the laundry was across town. When I walked all the way to the sister hotel to do laundry it cost 3000 isk and they didn’t seem to have time for it even. The rooms are bare bones, felt like a hostel with private rooms, but still the price of a hotel. There was no soap provided. The breakfast was really good though. Made the whole experience a lot better.

Twin beds pushed together, not too soft. Hallways are noisy, but didn't bother at night. No TV. No screens on windows, no inside curtain so the only one was the room darkening curtain. No nightstands, but there is room to have them. Really great water pressure. Wifi in room. The reception area is up the stairs from the parking lot on the right. The biggest problem i had was the room had a very disinfectant smell. i think that it was the soap in the bathroom, but it was unpleasant.

The entrance, up a flight of outside stairs, could use some work. Some big weeds growing in the cracks between the pavers. Woman at checkin said we could not check in yet. It was after 2 PM, check in was supposed to start at 2 PM. She finally checked with the cleaning crew and our room was ready. It looked like the room had been remodeled recently, and the room itself was very nice. But there was almost no furniture. Only one chair, a small desk chair on wheels. Nowhere for both of us to sit. Beds were good. We did not eat the breakfast, it was 2400 ISK each, no hot items.

Clean, large, and sparsely furnished rooms, with a towel-warmer and shower in the bathroom. A bit institutional or dormish, with white walls and linens, and cold stoney floors, but the beds are comfortable, and having a desk is nice. Several nice large windows, but the curtains don't do much to block light from the ever-present sunlight during July, or the street light right outside our window. Sound carries as well - you hear everything in the hallways, and presumably staff moving tables or beds in other rooms. Buffet breakfast is available for an additional 2400 Kroner/pp, but there are other breakfast options just down the street, so go elsewhere.

The hotel is located close to downtown, it has a great view of the mountain across the fjord. The room I had was simple, two twin size beds, EXTREMELY comfortable, expecially for a spring bed. The bathroom was nice, the height of the shower head was adjustable which is important as someone who is 6'4. I'd most likely stay there again if I was in need of a hotel around Ísafjörður.

I stayed here for 3 weeks while taking a class in Isafjordur. The “hotel” is actually a dorm for boarding high school students during the school year, but is used as a hotel in summer. The rooms are large compared to many Iceland hotel rooms, have private baths, a desk, closet, and large windows. Staff from Hotel Isafjordur comes and services the room every 3 days or so. There is no staff in the building so you have to go into town (walkable) for any extra service. The room key also opened the exterior entrance door, which is otherwise locked. I was able to get my breakfast at Hotel Isafjordur, which was convenient as I had to walk into town every morning anyway. ||||Hotel Edda is a good option for anyone wishing for an economical option to Hotel Isafjordur or Hotel Horn (both very nice in their own right..I have stayed in both) and wanting a private bath, as many guest houses have shared baths instead.

Camping rating: Nice grass for camping and great view to wake up to. Toilet facilities are very clean as they must form part of the adjacent university. Did not use or see the showers as additional 300 IDK pp. No kitchen facility except for a sink to wash up. Small refrigerated dairy snacks available from reception also.
