Hotel Edelhof

Love the homey atmosphere of this place, rooms are big, comfortable and sparkly clean, cleaning staff is extra nice and friendly. Food is excellent! Kudos to chef! Every selection is a good choice, lasagne and Panna cotta is out of this world. Special thanks to wonderful staff Suzie, Perla and Alessandro, you guys are brilliant, super friendly, super helpful, it was a pleasure to meet you and hopefully see you again in Edelhof :) overall 10/10 for the hotel and the people there :)

We recently booked two rooms at Hotel Edelhof Tarvisio as part of a bike trip along the Alpe-Adria trail. Unfortunately, due to a mechanical failure with one of our rental bikes, my travel companion and I were stranded in Villach and couldn’t make it to the hotel as planned. The other couple we were traveling with did stay at the hotel, so only one of the two rooms would go unused.||Understanding that I hadn’t purchased the booking protection, I made a reasonable request for a partial refund or compromise on the second room. I wasn’t asking for a full refund—just some flexibility given the circumstances that were completely beyond our control.||What I received in return was a blunt, almost dismissive response from the hotel, without any consideration or empathy for our situation. When I attempted to negotiate a 50% refund on the unused room, the reply became defensive and even went so far as to threaten involving their legal department.||While the hotel may be technically within their rights to deny a refund, I found the lack of basic customer service and understanding to be shocking. At the very least, I would expect some degree of professionalism, but what I got instead was rigid adherence to policy with no willingness to meet halfway.||If you’re looking for a place with any sense of reasonable customer care, this hotel might not be the best choice. The cold, unyielding response left a bad taste in my mouth, and I certainly won’t be returning.

This hotel surprises you with their luxurious rooms. Our room had been updated with a fancy shower and room for four people. There’s a mini fridge and lots of closet space. The balcony affords an awesome view of the mountains. ||Staff are super friendly and helpful. Food is delicious. No complaints just compliments.

It's a very beautiful small privat hotel. The room was very comfortable, beautiful designed. We had a big balcony with a nice view. It was very clean, smelled nice. The staff is mega polite and friendly 🥰❤️

We had dinner at the restaurant since it was recommended by the “gambero rosso”. The location is amazing as it is the service and the menu. The problem is that the food does not deliver. The flavors are dull and nothing special. We order the tortelli ripieni with frico and with montasio sauce but the pasta was to thick and I could not taste the frico at all… the Bull steak was good and perfectly cooked but it lacked the kick that was supposed to be added with the lardo… probably were just wrong choices but for the price I aspect way more. Not recommended.

I’d give this hotel a rating of “good” rather than average or very good. It’s official 4* but feels more like 3*. Plus side: friendly staff, very clean, quiet and spacious rooms, historic building, lots of attractive wooden floors and painted furniture. Conveniently situated as you can walk to the town easily. Bike storage and plenty of parking. The downside was that it felt quite Spartan and basic, no kettle, only two small plastic cups in the room, no comfortable chairs. The building a very pretty and has views of the hills from some rooms, but it is surrounded by car parks (public and hotel). Breakfast was fine but they kept a close eye on the milk supply - none was freely available with the buffet, milk was doled out in small jugs, insufficient for adding to coffee as well as having cereal. Worst thing was that our bathroom window opened onto the balcony of the next room and people on the balcony could also look directly at our bed. Fine for a night or two but not for a longer stay.

It is a really lovely hotel with top cuisine. There is a real master team in the kitchen. Every food was on top of the taste. The hotel is located next to the cableway and at the end of skiing, you can go on ski directly in front of the hotel. In sum, a nice hotel in the best place of Tarvisio. It was clean and tidy everywhere. Friendly staff all time.

Having been invited to meet the family of our dear friend who we met in England we were booked into this hotel. |I have spent many working years in hotels across the world and this was one of the best for their warmth of hospitality. All the staff were so helpful and friendly that it felt like being at home. |Our room was so spacious with the great bonus of a lovely balcony to sit out on in the early evening. |The rooms had a safe which is a must for us nowadays as well as a hairdryer which was perfect for my wife. |Just a pity that a kettle with tea and coffee was not available. |Breakfast however is a feast in itself. |We only ate an evening meal in the hotel twice during our week's stay as our friends own a restaurant in the village. However, the food was very tasty and well presented. |One thing that would have been nice would have been a "daily special" as the menu did not change during our week. We ate on the first and last evenings of our stay and it was the same menu, some of which was not to our personal liking. |However, all in all a great hotel to stay in whilst in the village/area. we are already looking forward to our next trip to this most beautiful part of Italy. |Thank you Tarvisio for a great vacation. |
