If you're parents, friends, out-of-town visitors are visiting and you don't have time to get up to the mountain BUT you want to give them the experience of having fondue, hear yodeling, and see someone in lederhosen, then this is a good place.
There is upstairs and downstairs seating and the staff speak a multitude of languages. You're seated at a wood table and the decor is wood and stone, this place is going at great lengths to make you feel like you're in the mountain and visiting Heidi's family. There is live music, which adds to the experience and it's good fun to hear the yodeling and have as great background music.
One thing that would make this place great, is if they had a beginner's guide to Fondue. Having went with my family when my parents were visiting, we ended up ordering 3 cheese fondues (1 with mushroom, 1 with alcohol, and 1 sans alcohol for my daughter) we also ordered a chinois (aka meat) fondue and the kids chicken nuggets. You end up paying by person, so keep that in mind, and be sure to share. I think we could have done with one less chess fondue for the 6 of us since it ended up being wasted.
It's lovely that they serve you with both bread and fries for dipping, but thinking back at it, how many cheese fries should you really be eating? all in all it was a good time, a bit expensive, but it is a tourist trap so it is to be expected.
