A lovely Swiss chalet style hotel. Friendly and helpful staffs. The family room is comfortable, neat and clean with AC working properly. The breakfast is simple and good quality. Well located. Walking distance to the lake, many restaurants, ice cream shops, grocery stores Free public transportation ticket and a big discount for nearby parking which was very useful.

We stayed here for three nights in May and had a wonderful time. The breakfast was excellent and set us up well for the day. The Hotel is very close to the Railway Station as well as the Lake and all of the attractions we wanted to see were within walking distance. The staff were very helpful and friendly. As we were checking out an attentive member of staff came to reception with my glasses that I had left behind in the room. We would certainly return to the Hotel.

The staff was wonderful and friendly. The bed was pretty comfortable and the furnishings were cute and thematic. My only comment is there was mold in the shower grout. Otherwise our stay was great.

I stayed at this hotel for one day and one night. The location is certainly convenient—just steps from the lake—and the room was clean and comfortable, which contributed positively to certain aspects of the brief stay. However, there were several issues. Surprisingly, the reception staff did not speak either Italian or German, which is quite unexpected given that the hotel is located in Switzerland. The welcome was cold and impersonal, and we did not feel particularly welcomed. The outdoor area also left much to be desired: the square in front of the hotel was dirty and frequented by questionable individuals. In one unpleasant incident, someone in an evidently intoxicated state nearly vomited at my feet—an unsettling and uncomfortable experience. Furthermore, due to a neck injury, I had requested to postpone the stay by a few weeks. The request was denied without any flexibility or understanding of the situation. Lastly, although the hotel is classified as a four-star property, the breakfast was disappointing for someone like me who is lactose intolerant: very few alternatives were available, no clear labeling, and little attention to dietary needs. Conclusion: A hotel with good potential thanks to its location and room quality, but in need of significant improvements in hospitality, language support, customer care, and the surrounding urban environment.

We walked from train station with large bags not to far. Hotel is tucked away in a cozy area and great location. We were greeted cordially by the front desk, given information on transportation vouchers and other perks. The interior of the hotel is designed like a Swiss Chalet, rustic and woodsy smells a nice change from the other hotels. Our room was located on the 6th floor and probably the most spacious room we had on our 6th city visit. Lots of shelf space on both sides of the room and our luggage could be separated to give space. Bathroom setup was large but high step up tub with only hand wand in shower. The one thing I didn’t care for was the room was carpeted, matted and not in good condition making it look dirty this effected my review on room. We had the breakfast buffet in our booking which included basic items and staff worked hard to replenish. I would say within 2-3 blocks you are right on Lake Geneva, spectacular views we could even see the top of fountain from the our room. We walked everywhere or took the mouettes boats here and there very nice. We never felt any concerns about our safety day or night. We spend 3 days of wonderful weather enjoying a beautiful city. Hotel arrange a taxi upon leaving early and wished us safe journey back home. Great way to end a spectacular trip through Austria and Switzerland. 🙌

I stayed here recently with my young family in one of their family rooms. The setup works perfectly having adjoining rooms, both of which have their own en suite and amenities. The staff from reception, to cleaning and restaurant were all extremely nice and helpful throughout my stay. While not necessarily being in the middle of the town we never found this an issue as Geneva is really small and we had bus links opposite the hotel and were a couple minutes walk to the water bus so we couldn't fault the location.

We highly recommend Hotel Edelweiss. The hotel was clean and modern and in a great location, just a few blocks from the water and the train station. Pierre and Matis were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in Geneva!

The hotel is centrally located, but in a rather noisy area. Not 4 star service, nor 4 star quality. During the stay the room was full of mosquitos, and during the only night of my stay the air ventilation started a noise that could not let me sleep. The reception’s advise was to open the window and turn the AC off and that the manager would have been notified. The following morning during the check out I raised my concern on the fact that a 4 star hotel could not find a solution for me to sleep during the night, nor offer an apology. The receptionist took my details to ensure the manger could have made contact with me to apologize for the inconvenient. After weeks I made contact myself and I was offered a discount for my next stay. Of course never would happen again. I travel to Geneva often, and this is not the service a 4 star hotel should have. Design: average, poor quality materials, clearly made to replicate a tacky chalet Service: poor Upside, if you stay here: across the road there is fresh bakery for breakfast. Unfortunately I cannot upload the video of the loud noise the hotel manager makes expected me to sleep with.

Yelp
Hotel front desk manager confirmed in an email that he made a private car reservation for us to transfer to Chamonix. We found out the morning after the car did not arrive that he never made reservation. Front desk staff was not helpful at any point in our stay. Also, we observed restaurant staff reusing bread served to previous guests to put in breadbasket of the next guest. We avoided eating at hotel after seeing this lack of sanitation.

Yelp
Love this cute hotel! It's in the best location and we spent an afternoon walking around. The staff was very pleasant and informative and they speak English which is a huge plus for us. The breakfast is amazing. We had dinner there one night and had fondue. The waitress made a comment like we didn't order enough food for 4 people so we felt guilty and ordered 2 more plates even though we were all not super hungry. In the end, we had plenty of leftovers that got wasted.. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again

Yelp
Pros: -Free WiFi -Good location. 2 minutes to the lake front, and from there you can follow it about 15 minutes to old town. There's a grocery store across the street if you want to save money on water and snacks. -Friendly English speaking staff. -They give you a free unlimited metro pass, although we never needed it. -I was worried the decor was a way to distract you from dingy, dirty rooms. That wasn't the case; it was clean enough. -They can provide you a plug adapter to borrow, if you need it. -Decent tourist trap restaurant located in the hotel (tastes great, but ambiance and price was not good). -Beds were comfortable enough but clearly older. Also, twin room had the twin beds together. Not ideal if you don't want to essentially sleep with your companion. Cons: -The AC barely worked. It was so hot up on the 6th floor. -If you switched off the built-in overhead light, all the outlets in the room lose power but one. It made it very difficult to charge our phones overnight. -Lighting in the room was terrible. -The shower was horrible. If you angled the head to face where you stand water just goes onto the floor because there's no curtain and the glass is 1/4 the length of the shower.

Yelp
If you're parents, friends, out-of-town visitors are visiting and you don't have time to get up to the mountain BUT you want to give them the experience of having fondue, hear yodeling, and see someone in lederhosen, then this is a good place. There is upstairs and downstairs seating and the staff speak a multitude of languages. You're seated at a wood table and the decor is wood and stone, this place is going at great lengths to make you feel like you're in the mountain and visiting Heidi's family. There is live music, which adds to the experience and it's good fun to hear the yodeling and have as great background music. One thing that would make this place great, is if they had a beginner's guide to Fondue. Having went with my family when my parents were visiting, we ended up ordering 3 cheese fondues (1 with mushroom, 1 with alcohol, and 1 sans alcohol for my daughter) we also ordered a chinois (aka meat) fondue and the kids chicken nuggets. You end up paying by person, so keep that in mind, and be sure to share. I think we could have done with one less chess fondue for the 6 of us since it ended up being wasted. It's lovely that they serve you with both bread and fries for dipping, but thinking back at it, how many cheese fries should you really be eating? all in all it was a good time, a bit expensive, but it is a tourist trap so it is to be expected.

Yelp
I wish there were 2 separate entries to review the restaurant separate from the hotel. I first ate at the restaurant, and then had to stay at the hotel during a business trip, as there were no other hotel options. I would give the restaurant a separate rating of two stars, and the hotel 1 star. I warn anyone who comes to Geneva to NOT stay at this hotel. If it is the month of the Geneva car show, and no other hotel has availability, then try to at least NOT stay on the first floor. The cheese smell from the restaurant has seeped into the wood of this hotel, and every inch of the place smells of cheese. Plus, the restaurant has a live music show, and if you are on the first floor, you are guaranteed to hear every bit of it until the restaurant closes. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and the staff friendly. The restaurant is expensive, and the food quality is minimal. You can have much better fondue at other restaurants. The inside feels like you have been transported into a Disneyland ride centered in Switzerland. There is a mini chalet within the restaurant. Save the money you would spend on food here and use it instead to purchase a train ticket into a mountain village and have fondue in a real chalet. The entertainment is OK, but not worth the prices.

Yelp
There are a few things you should be aware of before coming here: it smells (but you kind of get used to it), it's pricey, and prepare to enjoy your meal to traditional live Swedish music. I opted for the cheese fondue, which comes with a cured meat plate as a starter and flan as dessert. The fondue was good but very strong. The service wasn't fantastic, but they could've just been overwhelmed with our large group. Cheese fondue came out to 47 CHF pp. I suppose you're also paying for the entertainment plus Geneva is already super expensive... So I suppose it may be a reasonable price.

Yelp
Tourist cutesy wootsey trap and kinda pricey. Great experience for a Swiss novice and kinda fun as well. Not the best food, but not awful either. What is bad is the noise from the children in the courtyard, should not they be in school? And the noise from the restaurant can be heard even in the second floor. But the worst is the seedy neighborhood it's in.On the edge of ladies of the night, pimps, drag queens and sex shops. Too bad to, because the water is only two blocks away. If you stay there it's ok in the day only. Kinda hairy at night. Great option : two grocery stores across the square and one of those has a small but very good, reasonably priced cafe. They offer roast chicken, au gratin potatoes , savory and sweet pastries and cakes. Very good!I recommend it.

Yelp
When we went to Geneva on vacation, the clerk at the hotel we stayed (Hotel-des-alpes) suggested we go here to taste some local food with local entertainment. Marie-Elizabeth is french Canadian so she grew up with Swiss cheese fondue and it has been tradition for us to have fondue on christmas eve so we were quite excited about the prospect of tasting the fondue in the country from which it came and we were not disappointed! With entertainment including music, cow bells & swiss horn it is definitely not the place to go if you want to have a nice conversation over dinner. This is where you go to have a taste of Switzerland and a flavour of their culture and it is definitely aiming to cater to tourists. It was really difficult to choose what to order from their menu but we settled for the Herb cheese fondue (which is the house fondue with herbs) and the raclette. Oh YUM!! It was amazing!! We loved all of it especially all the cheese and the meat that was served with the raclette. The only disappointing part is that the raclette is served as melted cheese on a plate instead of having the raclette kit to do it yourself. We'd definitely go back next time we're in Geneva.

Yelp
Review for the hotel only: I was here for 3 nights on a business trip. The good: Atmosphere was ok - cutesy and felt very "Swiss". Yes - the cheese smell is overpowering but the location is great (near the lake, 15 minutes away from the train station, 10 minutes over the bridge from 'downtown') and the service is good. My room was on the third floor The meh: The room itself is outdated and pretty small. I had some major trouble with the tub faucet knob coming off... not fun. Wi-Fi was ok. There was a lack of outlets so i had to alternate between having the lamp on and my phone/laptop charging. Overall: 3 stars. Unique place/location, cheaper than other hotels but be aware there are a few inconveniences you may face.

Yelp
My company booked this hotel with no input from use . 3 star at best. Yes cheese smell even on the 6th floor is pretty bad. Outdated room but update bathroom. See photos. The lobby and room look like something from the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. Two single beds slid together to make a queen with a gap in the middle , really. The beds were NOT comfortable either. Worn carpet and more.

Yelp
Obviously this is a tourist location. If you somehow wandered into this restaurant, with this name, and lobby hoping for something else... shame on you. It was a good tasting fondue, fun service and live entertainment. I was a tourist, and was very pleased. Everything tasted very good and it was cute.

Yelp
Once you get past the smell of old cheese it is a good representation of Swiss food.

Yelp
I went to a going away party for a friend at the Edelweiss... otherwise I never would have set foot in it. This is the Disney Land of restaurants. The dining room is designed to look like a chalet, complete with live yodelers and alpine horns. Tacky, tacky, tacky! While the fondue was not terrible, the menu is overpriced and the service is weak.
