We stayed at Hotel Edelweiss Superior for three nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. Getting there by cable car and train was part of the charm—the views along the way and from the hotel itself were absolutely breathtaking. We booked a premium room, which was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a stunning view of the mountains. We dined at the hotel restaurant every evening, and every meal was delicious. Breakfast was also included and a wonderful way to start each day. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay feel extra special. I highly recommend Hotel Edelweiss Superior to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic getaway in the Swiss Alps.

OMG! Stay here. Lovely views in a modern hotel. Our room in the new section was spacious - had a couch, desk and chair and a very large bathroom. A small balcony too with awesome views of the peaks. Robe and slippers. A downstairs area with a small sink, refrigerator, microwave, washer/dryer, boot dryer and ski racks. The hotel had a pleasant restaurant that served indoors and out. We ate every meal there. Good breakfast with some options like oatmeal and eggs. Fantastic bread. Wish we had stayed longer. So much to do - hiking, walking and enjoying the natural beauty of Switzerland.

If you want the view of a lifetime stay here! We spent 3 night at the Hotel Elelweiss and loved every minute. The view, with our balcony hanging over of cliff, was incredible. I was so happy with my choice of accomodation. The gentleman at the restaurant each morning was so pleasant and helpful, I really appreciated seeing him each morning. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant as well, which was delicious too!. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Gimelwald Switzerland. Just make sure you book a room with a view!!

My husband and my favorite hotel during our one-month European vacation!!! The view from our balcony was breath taking!!! The staff was amazing; the room was comfortable and clean! The restaurant had an incredible view as it is overhanging the mountain! Enjoyed breakfast and a few dinners there. Murren is car free, so the hotel location was convenient to everything. Highly recommend staying here while in Murren!!!!

Recently went on a grand tour of Switzerland staying at 10 different hotels, with the Edelweiss being the most expensive property we stayed in and ironically the one with the worse service and restaurant. The view from our corner premium room on level -2 was stunning. The room was spotless, spacious, and modern. However, we never felt like we were guests at the hotel because of the staff. Even the one hostel we stayed at was more hospitable. We made a reservation to eat indoors at their restaurant one evening - it turned out to be a warm day so we changed our minds and waited for a table at their outdoor space instead. Their manager made us feel like we were inconveniencing them although there were several open tables. The waitstaff treated us like we came off the street, not a guest at one of their best rooms. Service turned out to be sluggish and we had the worst quality food of the trip. You are better off eating at a Coop than this place. Another instance we asked the front desk for directions to a funicular. Instead of simply answering the question, we were asked what room number we were in first. Very oddly unfriendly behavior which diminished an otherwise nice room.

My husband wanted to cross a trip to Schilthorn off his "James Bond Bucket List" so we chose Murren and the Hotel Edelweiss as our stop over. We made the right choice! The room was so warm and cozy and the view from our balcony was absolutely stunning! The hotel has a restaurant and bar and our dinner was delish! My husband ordered steak which came on a sizzling metal tray and the waiter was kind enough to show him how to finish it to his liking. I wish we would have stayed longer!

May not be worth the money. YMMV. The "Double Room Panaroma" type room has a large balcony (which was actually larger in length than the room's) but the view of the valley is hindered by trees. While the mountain view is great, it's not worth $425 per night, since Hotel Mürren Palace usually has less room-rate for some room types. The room itself feels very cramped & lacks USB charging points. The "single room panaroma" type room, on the other hand, does not feel as tiny, and even has space for a small table, besides the desk, so it doesn't feel cramped in any way. Besides, my "Double Room Panaroma" type room didn't even have an electric wall socket near the desk. My guess is that they deliberately gave me a smaller room. The restaurant looks great & offers nice views. The breakfast is okayish. The hotel staff is friendly & helpful. If you have money to burn, you might as well literally do that instead of booking a "Double Room Panaroma" type room. Perhaps book a better room type. Also note that the hotel doesn't have golf carts (so no baggage porters to help with transporting your bags to the BLM or gondola stations).

Actual review of the hotel and not the restaurant. This place is noisy!!! I stayed on July 8, 2025. I had an early-morning tour the next day. The views are spectacular from one side of the hotel. The other side faces the street. I was assured peace and quiet after 5p by a woman with dark short hair at reception - I asked because sleep was my primary purpose and I was give a room on the first floor (one above street level). This was one of the worst hotel stays ever. I could hear every noise; conversations on the street, conversations and stomping of feet on the hotel stairway. I could hear everyone who walked back and forth in the hall below and the people above me (pacing the room for hours???). I could hear all of my neighbors take showers. I could hear rearranging of furniture in the lobby below and in the room above, like when furniture is dragged across a wood floor. Unless you can get a room on the top floor facing the Alps, I recommend avoiding this place. One star for a comfortable, semi-firm bed.
