Hôtel Eden Palace Au Lac

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! It just oozes glamour, you feel like you are staying in the golden age of travel, can just imagine Victorians staying here on their grand tour! If you can, opt for a room with a lake view, one of the most stunning views I have ever had in a hotel and to sit on the balcony was just heaven! Also shout out to Diana on reception who is a credit to the hotel, one of the warmest and friendliest welcomes we have ever had to a hotel and it really set the tone for the incredible stay we had. Thanks so much to all the staff and we can’t wait to return!

The hotel is really lovely, takes you back in time with its decor and location on lake Geneva. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful especially George. He kindly loaned us a plug as we hadn’t realised the Swiss sockets are different to the rest of Europe. Breakfast buffet was really good lots of choice including hot food. Overall a lovely hotel my only minus was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which is always annoying

A lively, buzzing place full of energy. Yes, it’s noisy but in the best way, with laughter, conversation, and a vibrant atmosphere that makes the restaurant feel alive. The food was great, the service attentive, and the overall experience fun. Would come back for the view.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life. The hotel looks like an old palace, with all details cared for, from the entrance to the rooms up to the breakfast buffet. The view to the lake is outstanding and breathtaking, and the hotel is in the fist line for the lake so its location is perfect. If you want to feel like a princess, book this hotel. I will definitely come back

I would recommend this hotel because it's not too far from train station and the hotel located directly at lake geneve with beautiful view and if you want to visit christmas market in Montreux, I think this hotel is very comfortable, not too far and too close to the noise. but there are things, which needs to be improved. the room was fine, but a bit expensive for size and view. the breakfast was disappointed as compare to the price.

We stayed at the Eden Palace au Lac for two nights. The double-door entrance to our room was very unique. Our room faced the lake, offering a fantastic view, and having a balcony made it even better! The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station.

We noted that it was our 25th wedding anniversary but were given a room on the 1st floor in the corner with no balcony view (the rest of the hotel has great views) There was a small note about having to reserve parking ahead of check in - we paid a higher price and had to park down the street, no one contacted us about parking (I even called that morning to confirm our reservation - no one asked if we needed parking!) Check in was not friendly an we were not offered help with our luggage (and you have to block traffic on the street to park in front). This hotel may have been nice at one time but it is dated. After check in, we went to have a glass of wine and sat in an area with tables and chairs. A restaurant manager came out and told us we could not sit here because other people would start sitting there and it was part of the restaurant and he didn't want people in that area. We asked where we could go and he said the upper terrace. We agreed because it had nice couches so we walked up to find it was closed and no one was allowed there either. No one from the hotel ever offered any assistance or made contact with us. The AC in the room did not work well and it flooded water onto the little area of balcony we did have (as mentioned the view was blocked by a huge abutment on the roof). The toilet seat would not stay up when you lifted it - I had to fashion a towel to hold it in place when I wanted it up. Positives - the location couldn't be better, the bed was comfortable, the room was large with good storage. As I said, at one point this was a grand hotel and from the pictures and the huge price, I assumed it still was. It is was not what I expected.

We had a beautiful corner room with wrap around balconies on the top floor. Room very clean, came with robes and slippers plus mini fridge. Front desk staff were very professional. Beautiful views of Lake Geneva. Breakfast was adequate, unfortunately no lactose free milk or yogurt options. Attempted to eat at the restaurant that advertised limited options prior to 7pm. However we were told this was not the case despite menus indicated options were available.

The property is 0.4 mile from the train station--an easy walk with rolling luggage. It's centrally located within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants. Our view from our room was spectacular! There was a bistro table and two chairs in the small balcony which we fully took advantage of during our short stay. The carpets were in need of a deep cleaning if not replacing. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and helpful.

The hotel is older and needs renovation. The main issue I have is, the hotel listed air conditioned rooms. I booked thru a third party site and they gave me a street side room with a mobile air conditioning until. It spewed more heat than the room was in the first place. They also had the hose improperly and dangerously semi shut between two windows. After discussing this with the front desk at 1 am, I was moved lake side to a beautiful room with a built in AC. The hotel should be honest and say if your room is air conditioned. If your traveling from Overseas call can confirm first. I was lucky they had an extra room. The restaurant is excellent and staff amazing. This negative review fails on management or ownership. Not sure of Swiss building code...this would not muster and the rugged hose would be a big fine in the US.

The lobby is very eye-catching with white leathery sofas, piano and a chandelier. The receptionist was very nice while we were checking in. We are staying on the second floor which is a long white hallway. There's an outer door then our hotel room...quite old fashioned furniture. The breathtaking view is gorgeous and that's pretty much the only thing that I can think of.

This hotel has some elegant antique looking charm, but at the same time the white sofas and carpets are dirty! The rooms are clean and a descent size. However, my room was not air conditioning and I begged them to change my room for a fee. No availability to do so even though my 8 month old baby girl's eczema was acting up from the heat and we could hardly sleep. Leaving the terrace door or window open, and we heard drunk casino players passing by screaming all night long for the entire week. Do not sleep in the city view rooms no matter what! In addition, the garbage is collected , (garbage truck)and wakes you up at 6 am! Staff is polite, but did not help me ultimately. Breakfast is edible, but not tasty. Coffee is awful. Sad while I am writing this review, but a warning to others is in order!

I get the other reviews where people have noted that the place is a little shabby but seriously - the place is architecturally amazing. We had a spectacular room (524) and could not have been happier. The views. The setting. The staff. All exceeded our wildest dreams. Montreux is amazing. And we will definitely be back to the Eden Palace.
