Hotel Edouard VII, a Design Boutique Hotel Biarritz, France

"Just 5 minutes walking distance from the Biarritz beaches, sits the Edouard VII, a 19-century residence that combines the charm of yesterday and the comfort of today. This unique residence has a rich history based on its past residents. It was once the home of the Mayor of Biarritz. It was also the Place Napoleon III used to receive medical care on his visits to the region. Guestrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated to inspire the style of the past. All are air-conditioned and soundproofed and equipped with private bathrooms, a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi internet access. The area surrounding Edouard VII has much to offer. In additional to the beautiful coast and its beaches, you will find restaurants, shops, museums and casinos. San Sebastien is only 45 minutes away." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

They asked ahead if there was a special occasion and I wrote we were celebrating my 70th Birthday. When we were shown to our room the door was wrapped like a present with a big red bow, balloons inside , a delicious piece of Opera cake and a personalized card waiting to welcome us. Wonderful surprise to start our 4 nights in Paris! Very comfortable room & bathroom with a refreshing shower and bath products I wish I could get in the back in the states. We had a balcony we could step out and see the Opera Palais Garnier on one end of the street and the Louvre on the other all within a short walk. Lovely shops & bistros just outside the doors make it just so easy even after a long day of sightseeing. There’s a little private bar area off the main lobby open from morning to night. Everyone was so pleasant and accommodating throughout our trip. The one thing that needs attention & is such a simple fix , is to replace the carpet in the elevator. Would love to go back though & highly recommend this Boutique hotel! |Thank you all for taking such good care of us! |Eileen Koen

We stayed here on our honeymoon and we have nothing but good things to say about the hotel and the staff. When we arrived, we were welcomed with special decorations for our special occasion. The front desk was welcoming and so kind from the moment we checked in until check out. They were there to answer any question. The cleaning crew were incredibly kind. The front staff kindly helped us with many reservations. And Nisal specifically was so helpful and so great at making sure we were helped and that we were enjoying our stay. The view of the Opera and the location near great food spots was a huge plus!!! Oh, and they did an amazing job with their Christmas decorations!! Thanks Hotel Edouard 7!!

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Edouard 7 in Paris. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of so many major landmarks, which made exploring Paris incredibly convenient.||The service truly exceeded our expectations. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. I happened to be staying there during my birthday, and the hotel team surprised me with a cake — a thoughtful gesture that made the experience even more special.||The hotel itself is beautiful, with elegant decor and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely choose Hotel Edouard 7 again the next time we come to Paris. Highly recommended!

we had been to Edouard 7 , 15 years ago. It wasn't as good as then. Location and staff are 5 stars. Renoud, concierge, was wonderful. I spoke to him before we arrived and he arrange tickets to Musee d.orsay and Eurostar to London before we arrived. It goes downhill from here. Our room and bathroom were tiny. lobby was being renovated. In the past when renovations are going on in a hotel, I have been given a lower rate for the inconvenience and told in advance of the renovation. Buffet breakfast was 3 stars at best. I ordered an omelette and was told there was extra charge. I have had many breakfast buffets in Europe and never had an extra charge for an omelette. Bad decision to piss off a guest over a cheese omelette. Pastries, croissants were mediocre. bottom line: would I go back, probably not

This hotel was perfectly located. We were able to walk to many of the tourist destinations and the metro was also convenient to access. The neighbourhood has many restaurants and designer shops all within a few short blocks. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to Junior suite which had lots of space and the Juliet balcony was a delight! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will return when we go back to Paris.

The room we had was on the small side, but we had no problem. It was a good bed and we slept well. The staff was outstanding and always pleasant and helpful. The location was walkable to many restaurants and two metro stations.

The hotel was absolutely amazing and the staff was really attentive and assistant to my wife and I. We came in a much earlier than the check in time and the front desk assisted us to expedite the check in and recommended some nearby breakfast spots to visit while we wait. Room was really clean and the shower was great. The only thing is that the sound proofing might be a little off but otherwise, it was an amazing stay.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -Hotel Edouard 7 is in a great location. -You'll be nearby most of the main tourist attractions (walking distance to the Louvre, Tuileres Park, etc...) -The staff are very friendly & informative (great recommendations on French hip hop artists & where the locals go to hang). -There's a small bar located near the front desk along w/ some additional seating in the back & a private meeting room. -The room was normal French size (small), but very clean & unique details w/ a balcony that you can go outside. -Uber drivers can pick-up/drop-off very easily. Overall, this is a good hotel to stay at if you want to be central to many tourist attractions.

Yelp
Cute little hotel located right near the Opera House, and just a short jaunt from the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay. The location was great and the staff was super friendly. Our room was nice and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfy, bathroom was huge, and there were two closets. Our room also included the breakfast buffet every morning, so we just popped downstairs for a nice spread of fruit, croissants, bacon, eggs, bread, and cheese. It was a fabulous way to start each day. The elevator is quite possibly the smallest thing ever, so definitely use the stairs if you're claustrophobic.

Yelp
Very nice boutique hotel in a central location. The rooms are decorated in a trendy-retro French style. Delicious breakfast buffet included with stay. Most of the staff speak English.

Yelp
Edouard VII has a perfect setting with balconies overlooking the Opéra Garnier, wonderful ambience and atmosphere. We stayed in one of the balcony suite - absolutely lavish; as a matter of fact if you go to their site and see where the couple is standing we have a photo on the same spot. Their brunch was superior. We had a magnificent time. We couldn't ask for a better location. The hotel staff was extremely nice and they made reservations for dinners, show and gave us direction to every place that we wanted to visit. Also, they recommended a wine store where we were able to seat and relax while wine tasting.

Yelp
Love this hotel! Most comfortable bed I've slept on in Europe. The staff speak perfect English and are super nice. We took a lovely walk to the Louvre last evening after dinner. Paris was already my favorite city and this hotel has enhanced the feeling!

Yelp
Edouard VII is a perfectly fine hotel with friendly staff and helpful reception but the rooms are a bit dated and cramped. There was always an unsightly (and very large) supplies cart parked right outside our door that never seemed to be put away. I found that odd. For $350/night, I found the hotel to be lacking. Incidentally, it's also a stone's throw from a wide range of Japanese restaurants. Who ever thought we'd have Korean food in Paris! Close to the Opera metro stop and within walking distance to the Louvre.

Yelp
Just stayed 5 amazing nights at this wonderful hotel! They let us check in early. Got upgraded to a mini suite that was very clean, large, Nespresso machine, refrigerator, robes, slippers, excellent bedding, 2 1/2 bathrooms, great King size bed and other room had 2 beds for our 2 kids. Three balconies with BEAUTIFUL views...VERY friendly & helpful staff (especially Billy!) The location is PERFECT!!! Close to EVERYTHING! Delicious buffet breakfast with the friendliest servers. Highly recommend this hotel!!!

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here over Christmas and we loved it. The hotel was centrally locates in Paris in between the opera house and the Lourve. The staff here is exceptional. Their service was world class and they could not have been more accommodating or friendly. I would recommend staying here without hesitation.

Yelp
I would NEVER recommend this hotel! My family and I planned a trip to Paris for my birthday, three days before arriving in Paris, they emailed me and told me they no longer had room for us in their hotel! They moved us to their sister hotel. We booked Hotel Edouard 7 for the prime location. The sister hotel was not in our desired location nor was it as nice. Edouard 7 did not care that had cancelled our reservation and did not upgrade our room at the new hotel, or compensate us for the inconvenience it caused us. My family and I normally do not complain, but this experience was far from a pleasurable experience! Think twice before booking at this hotel
