Hotel Eggers (Gothenburg, Sweden) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"An elegant railway hotel that opened in 1859 with electricity and a telephone in every room. The warm, welcoming interior features old wrought iron, stained glass and period furnishings. The characterful restaurant still has its original wallpaper and offers Swedish and French favourites." - Tablet Hotels

We thought our stay was absolutely fantastic, because it was as if we were brought back to 1859 through the hotel's interior, furniture and decorations that added a lot to our mental and emotional experience. Even though the hotel is old, it is still neat, clean, neat and well maintained. We thought the staff were absolutely exceptional, because they are service-minded, welcoming and nice people. As for breakfast, it consisted of good and fresh quality products that were always replenished. While our beds were very comfortable which meant that we slept very well. 🥰 We highly recommend Hotel Eggers and wish them continued success!💖🎖

Although we didn’t stay at the hotel, we had dinner at its restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The setting is traditional and spacious, with a classic charm. The French-inspired menu is limited but carefully curated, and every dish we tried was both delicious and beautifully presented. The wine list is well-chosen, and the desserts were just as impressive. While prices are a bit high by Swedish standards, the quality makes it well worth the splurge.

A beautiful and historic hotel in the city center of Gothenburg. The hotel has been there since 1859 and has kept a lot of historic details and interior. You feel like traveling back in time when you enter this prestigious time capsule and we loved it. The old world charm is maintained in the rooms as well with charming illustrations and newspaper clippings on the walls. We had a superior doble room which was spacious and beautiful. Very good breakfast and the central station is just across the road, which is convenient. Just remember to bring air plugs to get a good night sleep as the location is very busy both night and day. Would love to stay here again later.

The staff was most accommodating we needed an early check in and late check out . Our hotel room was lovely and the location central to the area. Breakfast was great! Definitely a charming place to stay!

Cosy restaurant with a dark interior and soft chairs. Loved the food. We had the shrimp sandwich, steak tartar, veal entrecôte and moules. Don't miss their lemonade. Delightfully sour and very refreshing.

A bit retro. Being well located the bar area semi outdoors is popular but you don't get any points for being a resident. Loved the free tea and coffee in the lobby. (And water). An old railway hotel making the best of whaty they have. Rooms and corridors a bit gloomy. Nice place overall.

I love this place. We felt right at home here. Service, cleanliness, breakfast, highlight of our trip! The sauna and pools were AMAZING. They are a bit dark with natural wood and comfortable lighting. There are lounge chairs with natural light. Had a great nap each morning after the sauna and swim. We had come from frankfurt, which was not easy or fun. We were tired and cranky, Katarina checked us in. She was very kind and patient. She gave us a her personal promise we had a quiet room. WE DID! Through our stay she went Above and beyond to help us. She had a true spirit of Hospitality. It was obvious she loves what she does and does it whole heartedly, (and she is good at it.) She makes this property great! Breakfast was good! European and American style. Eggs, sausage, pastries, rolls, meats, cheeses, fruit, and everything else you would expect. Location was good for us but suggest a car. Everything we needed was within 5 minutes, restaurants, bars, Aldi's, grocery stores. About 20 minutes from everything else, museums, Cotton club and Sternschanze, the really cool area to shop. The decor is clean and we'll kept. Housekeeping was nice. Ladies: Check out the showerhead. In my room, it was gooood! If/when we come back, this is where we will be staying.

HORRIBLE treated by the staff in the reception! Many of the guest we spoke to shred our experience! Not just not serviceminded aswell very rube and unprofessional! This made our 3 days stay here not good! Payed a lot of money to be treated this way! Rooms are old but very nice and location is good! But the staff destroyed everything! We have been traveled alot worldwide and never had this bad experience! Choose another hotel!
