Hotel Eiger Muerren

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Eiger for 6 nights. Based on scenery, Murren is the best place to stay, the views are breathtaking. Hotel Murren is located in a prime spot in town for amazing views. The hotel is right across the street from the train station, which was very convenient. When we arrived, we were met by a staff member at the train station and he took our luggage up tour room, which was much appreciated after a long day of travel. Check in and check out was quick and easy. All the staff members we encountered were very nice and welcoming. Our room had a balcony and a breaking view of the mountains. Our room was clean and pretty spacious, especially for European standards. The room temperature was a little higher than we normally like for sleeping, and the windows were not great for use of a fan. We ended up leaving the balcony door open most night with a fan to cool the room down. The bed was quite hard and resulted in less rest at night than we would have preferred. For us, it was the most uncomfortable bed of our stay, but different people have different bed preferences. We enjoyed breakfast every morning, they had a great variety of options.

I’ve been coming to this village for 11 years, and Eiger Guesthouse has always been my favorite destination—without question. I was a visitor for many years and now have the privilege of living in Switzerland, which makes me appreciate this place even more.||The food is outstanding. Truly top-tier Swiss classics done so well they feel brand new—plus the best fondue I’ve had anywhere in Switzerland, and I don’t say that lightly. The service is intuitive and beautifully timed, the atmosphere is cozy yet elevated, and the location is unbeatable. The staff are warm, impeccably trained, and manage to be both highly professional and genuinely human. Everything is done with care, pride, and consistency you can feel. The menu is diverse enough that we eat here multiple times per stay and never get bored, and they also have an excellent vegetarian selection.||The hotel itself is spotless, modern yet cozy, with warm wooden accents and charming regional décor throughout. And again—the location and views are exceptional. If you’re asking yourself whether to eat here, stay here, drink here, or base your entire Mürren experience here—the answer is yes.||The Restaurant|This is exactly what you want from a Swiss mountain restaurant: warm, atmospheric, and paired with a terrace offering gorgeous views. The Swiss dishes are classic and executed beautifully, and they also offer excellent Italian options with thoughtful seasonal rotations (the truffle mushroom creamy linguini deserves a mention).||After 11 years coming to Switzerland, I can confidently say this is the best fondue I’ve had. On my last visit, the manager even took time to explain the cheese blend and sourcing, which really reflects the pride behind the food.||Service here is exceptional—never rushed, never slow, always perfectly paced. Over more than a decade, the experience has remained remarkably consistent, which speaks to strong leadership. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the manager, Ema, who has been here for many years, and it truly shows. The staff read the table beautifully and make everyone feel welcome, whether you want quiet privacy or a more social experience. Over the years, many team members—especially Artur, Rodrigo, Vanessa, Pedro, Bebe, and Francisco—have made my visits feel especially warm.||The Hotel|I’ve stayed here many times with different travel partners, and it works for everyone. The rooms are spacious, beautifully renovated, extremely comfortable, and have generous storage. Bathrooms are modern with great showers and excellent water pressure. Mountain-facing rooms offer stunning balcony views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.||The location next to the train station is incredibly convenient, yet evenings are peaceful and quiet. Blackout curtains are excellent, and when the sun does rise, the views are spectacular. Breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts in Switzerland—fresh, varied, and clearly prepared with care. There’s also a relaxed, cozy bar that’s perfect for coffee, cocktails, or winding down, and it’s the kind of place where genuine connections happen naturally.||The pool and spa are a short walk away, the grocery store is under 10 minutes, and everything in town is easily accessible.||Final Thoughts|I’ve stayed in many hotels in this village and throughout the region, and I always come back here for a reason. When it comes to dinner, accommodation, or atmosphere—it’s simply not a debate.||Whether you’re coming for a meal, a drink, or a stay, this place is special. This is the go-to.

We had a wonderful three night stay at the Hotel Eiger. It is a family run hotel with a focus on hospitality. We upgraded our room to a Mountain View and it did not disappoint! The spa and pool are lovely and the perfect activity after a day of hiking. Breakfast was excellent and included a make your own smoothie station as well as many other gluten free options. We also ate dinner in the hotel all three nights (out on the terrace) as the food was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. Tip - they have a small assortment of trekking poles available to borrow if you need them.

I would like to express my heartfelt Thank you for the hospitality extended by the team Eiger, Murren during our last Christmas holidays 2025. It was a wonderful and memorable holiday that we would love to cherish forever. Everything was just perfect from the lovely warm welcome to the delicious breakfast spread each morning and the excellent dinner options that the Hotel offers. I must truly endorse the fact that we were offered excellent, comfortable room with an Eiger view that kept us bedazzled. Particularly I loved the FM in the room, the luggage assistance that was provided and the yummy chocolate that was a good bye gift to us at the end of our stay 😊 Would love to come back again soon but this time surely for more number of days to particularly soak in the quaintness of the village and the feeling of a home nestled in the serene landscape🎉 Last but not the least, the hotel & restaurant staff were so caring and friendly that made our stay so much memorable and amazing.

Our favorite stop so far on our Swiss family vacation!! Our group of 4 shared interconnecting rooms, which worked out perfectly for our family. Both rooms had balconies with unbelievable views of Eiger and other mountains. Murren truly is like a postcard town and will be one of best memories from the trip. The hotel couldn’t possibly be more conveniently located, as it is literally across from the Murren BLM train station. The included breakfast is great. We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant at dinner one night. Hotel & restaurant staff were all very kind and helpful. If any of us are ever lucky enough to return to Murren, we’d definitely stay here again.

Wonderful small hotel with exceedingly friendly staff, a beautiful view of the mountains and a wonderful little restaurant downstairs. Located right across from the train station, my wife and I were both very impressed with the room size, cleanliness and overall value of the hotel and would definitely choose the Eiger Guesthouse again when we're in the area next time.

I had previously stayed at the hotel several times for Christmas and Easter with my parents during the 1970's and early 1980's and I had fantastic memories, so going back in 2025 I had very high expectations. My wife was concerned that the Hotel Eiger might not live up to my expectations after nearly 50 years, but the Eiger and its staff met or exceeded every one of my expectations. The Eiger has been in the hands of the same family for 4 generations (since 1892), and their experience of running a boutique hotel shows up in everything they do. The rooms are nicely furnished and very comfortable, the food was first class, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to make sure that their guests have a perfect stay. We plan to be back next year.

Fabulous, friendly, family owned property. Best hotel stay of all the hotels we visited in Switzerland. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by Corinne. Her lovely smile and welcoming ways set the tone for a wonderful three night stay. Prior to booking, we read lots of hotel reviews, checked out social media pages, etc. We found that the team at Eiger truly worked hard together as a team, and had lots of fun in doing so, as evidenced by Adrian's great videos with staff. They are indeed HAPPY, and love what they do. If you stay at the Eiger you will also most likely have the pleasure of meeting Adrian. He is so warm and friendly and makes sure you are having the best hotel experience possible. We had a mountain view room, which was absolutely amazing!! The views were out of this world!! The room was beautiful and the bed was comfortable with high quality bedding. The bathroom was very nice with a rainfall shower and fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers. The set up of the room was very well designed with storage and organization in mind. The balcony was ideal for enjoying the breathtaking view. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel on two of the three nights we were in Murren. The setting was warm and our kind Romanian waiter catered to our every need. The breakfast buffet was ample and had everything one could imagine. Both restaurants offered great mountain views, too. The hotel also has a relaxation area, pool, sauna, etc. Thankfully we made time for it on one day and wish we had spent time there every day. As far as Murren goes, it is a gorgeous Alpine village. Before we arrived in Murren we had spent one night in Lauterbrunnen and three nights in Wengen. While they were both great, Murren stands out as our favorite and has won our hearts! We hope to return next September for four nights. Do yourself a favor and book this amazing hotel! Thank you to the staff for everything!
